  1. In a vicious circle Barker, Auty and others have to double up to make a living and also with credit they love riding. It is not because of a lack of ambition, now Kennett has a Polish berth it would be great if others would be as lucky and follow suit.Cook i disagree with you on he hasn't become a better rider by riding ( once every three weeks rain offs last year in the EL) the PL has given him meeting,s sharpness confidence.Earning money and more and likely ploughing a lot more of his money into his aquipment. The days of just riding EL are long gone the push some need are just getting extra foreign meeting,s but that is not easy.
  2. Big guns is that a tongue in cheek statement apart from Tai are there that many? hardly a Collins,Lee,Simmons,Louis, Wilson,Ashby, Morton era is it.Out of the 16 riders Cook, Allen, Auty,Garrity,Worrall,Schramn,Haines,Birks,Barker,Kennett,Howarth,Wright, all of them PL riders.Harris,Nicholls we all no will not get any better and to be honest on certain tracks ( Nicholls showed scrambled through Sheffield round) are they much better?.Not much on a given day Tai/Cook yes the rest all a bit of a muchness you over exaggerate the difference between British EL and PL riders is there that much of a gulf.
  3. It's like England having a game at Wembley with the FA having absolute no say whatsoever madness.
  4. I still enjoy the read some valid points from all the other readers the lay out makes no odds to me.For me i generally get two copies because the pictures are so good i still believe 2.80 is good value.I would say i would like to see more of every bodies up to date averages to be shown more.
  5. Look forward to Brum next week and again it probably P....s down is a Thursday night jinxed?
  6. Tai will dominate i feel for a long time, i like Cook alot but i will be looking to riders like Ellis and Lambert for the future.
  7. He is saying if these guys never get a chance how will we ever know? i like Harris but i am the opposite he should have to earn it i would rather give Cook a chance and score zero oh no i better bow down because you have all the answers.
  8. I agree what a great post, i see 6 BLRC meeting,s they were great i loved the racing there also league meeting,s they were the best. But again i see really good riders that were not great at Hyde Rd looked ordinary so nothing against Wolves far from it.
  9. Are you doubting Gollob,s ability? Wolves is a hard track to ride i believe,Phil Crump who i see there quite a few times his scores were good but he didn't look comfortable there. And when you maybe only visited there once a year made it even harder.
  10. Did Kevin ride in amongst, A.Hines, Squirrell, Hunt, Fines? at Foxhall i see Kevin for Scunny a very good rider i am sure Tai,s dad Rob rode that day.
  11. Good point i can see where you are coming from about races being spaced out, the good old days have gone. That,s why i really hope a Ellis or a Lambert can become the real deal be a force.Out of the lesser Brits i enjoy watching Auty exciting to watch achilles heel dreadfull gater reminds me so much of a young smudger Smith( odviously not as good as Smithy).
  12. I believe so,everyone has a view it's down to the individual.Who would prefer a British Final at Wolves or would they prefer King,s Lynn Lynn all day for me.
  13. Twenty races at Lynn or 20 races at Wolves no comparison, there are loads of lines to ride at Lynn.It isn't just a throttle and go job there a non gater has much more chance. The other night gate 4 on the whole was terrible i am not saying Wolves is a bad track just that there are at least six better. King,s Lynn is fast of course but when it is prepared right i would say with no hesitation it has to be in the top 15 tracks in the world. I am glad i don't go there every week, once or twice a year is plenty but everyone to there own it is what people are used to i suppose.
  14. I have seen very good speedway riders struggle around Wolves.!
  15. It is a technical track and there is a home advantage, most passes generally are on the inside. All i said it is a hard track for non gaters to race on if Wolves are the only track to want the event so be it but i have my doubts on that if so it should be shared around.
  16. I actually believe Auty has improved still a bit rash that's because his gating is so poor. What i have seen of him he actually is one of the few riders in Britain who can regularly come from the back.Even in the updates how many times does he pass.? quite a lot i am saying that because we do see a lot of gate and go racing now.
  17. Non gaters at Wolves have absolute zilch chance of winning, don't get me wrong it is a ok track.ButPeterborough,Somerset,Scunthorpe,King,s Lynn,Sheffield, Swindon are all better racetracks no doubt about it plus sharing it around would be better because to be honest the meeting has gone stale at that venue. I think Dave Minall,s point is spot on to be honest.
  18. Some good races but need to move the final away from Wolves ,anywhere don't enjoy the racing that much there.Woffinden fair play to him rode well Cook,Harris,Garrity, Auty, all good value what will Middleditch do.?
  19. If you asked those riders what they did, would they say they were full time speedway riders? There are not many places going abroad and if you are a double upper you will find it hard fitting meeting,s around Britain. The problem is it is not now not riding against the better opposition it is not having the grounding from a young age.Can young Brits get to practice 3/4 days a week like the Poles and other nations.?
  20. How has Fricke done generally?i would imagine as a home track Armadale it is quite technical hard to ride for a young rider.Your side look like they are going to have a good decent season i can't remember to many poor Edinburgh teams in recent years always thereabouts,s.
  21. Woffinden this year has surprised me,i think we all knew he had a lot of talent but now it looks like it would be a major shock if he didn't get in the GP top 8.As for the English thing he was born in Scunthorpe? it is funny with the English public how we except people. In Cricket in years gone by Greig,d'oliveira,Hick,Denness,Lamb,Petersen not all of us took to them but some of us turned a blind eye because it suited England strange really.
  22. Semi professional leagues but they get paid they make a living does that not ring a bell?As for getting annihilated the old brigade of GB and the new breed they're would not be a lot of difference anyway saying that you would probably have Harris/Nicholls riding when they are 50.
  23. Are you in cookoo land or what? total rubbish it is not quite as easy to get places like that in Poland ect) it is very competetive .Cook ,Auty both of them did over 80 meeting,s last season they were hardly lazy Ritchie got injured up untill then he had been very busy. The statement you made is total crap our English lads need encouragement and help Garrity,Ellis, Jacob,s Howarth we have a few who need help. Not surprised because you are hardly keen on Birks who again is talented and he has only had 2 home meeting,s at Swindon and you were moaning. I have never ever mentioned Garrity as a starter but some of the riders with experience Harris,King,Barker, Kennett,, are not much better if at all than the ones you mentioned.Do you want to stick with Harris,Nicholls, ect) forever? you have got to rebuild sometime. As for Lee,Collins,Carter those days are long gone.
