  1. Not keen on that side with Batch in it,be lucky to make the play/offs.
  2. Fundin 15 finals, ----5 wins, -----3 seconds and ----3 third places. ) ------ Briggs 18 finals ------ 4 wins------- 3 second places ----- and 3 third places). Craven. 10 finals ------- 2 wins . ------- and 2 third places ) some record between these three greats.
  3. Craven had a good head to head record with Ove had already won two titles and was approaching his peak i am surprised "Norbold" he is not in your five.
  4. I see Vic ride for Weymouth and later on for Hackney,he made alot of progress it was a tragedy when he lost his life.Hackney had bad memories for me WK with Vic and Denny Pyeatt losing there lives there, but i generally enjoyed my dont be late Friday at eight night outs.
  5. Some greats there my top five would be 1.Briggs, 2.Fundin 3.Craven 4.Mirac 5.Duggan( only because his career was knackered by the evil war.) Did you see him ride at Sunderland WK? I am doing a book detailing all of Vic Harding's career cutting's (ect) were you a fan of Vic's??
  6. WK -- Jimmy was born in 1921,he last rode for Canterbury in 1975 making him 54 years of age god what an elder statesman.I always believed Ken Mckinlay was one of the oldest when last active when riding for Scunny.!
  7. i don't think he would be excepted back to be honest,i would not object to it but other Swindon fans i know feel really strongly about it.
  8. I thought he was a Coventry asset? be great to sign him but i wouldn't be hopeful to be honest.
  9. Cant wait to see your 1980s ratings it should be a great read,i have been researching the 1983 results and your comment about Lee is dead right he was a tad inconsistent took a while to get settled at Poole. But the last two months there was some brilliance from him i have to say Muller was brilliant on the day.I have watched that Final endless times i just wish Billy had of been a bit tougher on Egon in there race.
  10. I think maybe you are a tad harsh on Freddie i actually believe he was often overlooked when the great champions are mentioned.I say that because winning on home soil often brought a real pressure and for him to win it twice and be a runner up was quite a record.I see what you are saying though "Bobbath" could say for (ex) a fit Carter win it at Bradford in 1985 to win a homer really brings alot of pressure with it.
  11. Doyley,Shamek Pawlicki,Nick,Justin,Charles,Stefan leaving one place i don't know what would be left. That six would do for me forget the average i don't want Batch in the side he needs to move on.
  12. Same as,i am doing my research into the Huxley/Duggan era) onwards love doing it and with Norbold,Gustix, Custom(ect) i learn a fair bit plus on these threads i GENERALLY??? keep out of trouble i really enjoy these threads 300 pages Please!!!
  13. Great topic Gustix great to see Broady in five of those lists, and Arthur Forrest being a very high number 9 in 1956.Who was this Fundin bloke ? he was a thorn in Briggoe's side.
  14. I am very very sorry about your mum, but seriously you really need to look at your own behaviour before you criticize others on the forum..For me i could not care less what you think about me,and my advice is ignore certain posts it is that simple. You may not agree but say what you want there are alot of people on the forum that really know there speedway and love it just like i do that's why we stay on here.
  15. Really pleased with the signing a gutsy rider who is improving, was really impressed with him last year good luck to Stefan.
  16. I enjoy discussing Boxing "waihekeaces1!!! going back to KC i see Crump beat him around the Shay a few times he was one of the very few who beat him.Tommy Knudsen Lee and PC are the few i can remember beating him on merit from 1981 and at Hyde Rd in his BLRC wins he was superb. Also was his first falling out with PC after a Belle Vue v Halifax meeting where a fracas occurred? a real shame after winning the pairs together in Gothenburg.
  17. Really interested to hear from people who see alot more of Carter ride than myself, saying that i did see him ride quite alot .Was he better at the Shay or Hyde Rd?for me he was excellent at both venues i always thought if Hyde Rd had of stayed Carter would of rode for the aces at some point in his career he was brilliant around there be interesting to hear.
  18. I usually take a walk round ER see a couple of old mates, but i always watch the main part of the meeting watching on bend two watching Darcy there this year was terrific an amazing talent.
  19. I first went to the Abbey in 1969 there was a cheap side so those toilets were used horrible. Then i always watched from bend three i wonder how because i don't like watching there now i prefer the second bend a much better view.
  20. He averaged 7.81 in the PL Auty averaged 8.51 and Garrity 8.50 so he upped his PL average but his EL average is false.Based on gaining confidence by winning races beating riders of lesser ability all i am saying is "Tsunami" i want to see him do it in the top five.
  21. God those toilets hold very bad memories for me what a cesspit i can still smell them now.
  22. I really like Newman but it is quite hard to fathom out how much progress he has made? he has stagnated a bit also in the PL.These riders hopefully should push for a top five spot that is what the draft system should be about.
  23. I respect your opinion GRW bigtime, but i am not convinced with your opinion, ( ie Howarth did really well in a mega top five he really surprised me so much so unlucky to go because of Darcy coming in .Newman has never done this, he has rode just in his safety zone at reserve i believe Howarth,Auty,Garrity are better than him this year is a massive year for Kyle Newman we shall see.
  24. Hagon please help me mate! fair play to you, saying that everybody is entitled to there opinion! tell Witcher that not everything he says is FACT just his humble opinion!!!
