Belle Vue V Coventry 30th May, 2016

How was it a meaningless friendly? Belle Vue would have been looking to get to top 4 and Coventry fans realise the importance of all our meetings now that we are close to losing our stadium. If it was just a "meaningless friendly" as you put it, then that would be even more impressive that there was such a large crowd. I take it Poole V Belle Vue was meaningless on Monday as well then. On a serious note though, it is worrying when your attendances at Poole are so low when you have been doing well. MTV crashers is a music concert at the Ricoh with some big music acts at it.

Belle Vue V Coventry 30th May, 2016

It would be understandable if Woryna didn't ride after this weekends sad news. If we use Roynon as a guest then Kacper wouldn't be at reserve. It's going to be tough for bees without having ever ridden the track and also using a lower tier 2 Draft rider to replace Bates in the main body of the team. Whilst Belle Vue have only had one home meeting, they have been practicing regularly on the new track and have an idea of the shape and set up. They have had a lot more track time now. This Coventry team have improved at home but they don't travel well so can only see a convincing home win. Let's hope for a safe meeting for both teams. -
Tut tut SB 😜 Poor lad. I quite like him. Yes he's not a stand out rider with passes like Harris or Lambert but I have seen some good races from him and I'm sure Glasgow fans would agree as he seems to be doing really well there. He was good at Bombers testimonial. He's a good gater which I think is the reason he doesn't stand out. It's also easy to compare him to his brother who is more of a racer. I have seen much more boring riders. Bjarne Pedersen being the worst of all 😉 Davey Watt & Hancock never fill me with excitement either. Bjerre is another. Although that said Bridger & Swiderski have been the most boring riders I have seen at Brandon so far this year.

Official Buildbase Coventry Speedway Website Home Latest News Fixtures/Statistics Club Admission Riders Corporate Fans History Gallery MILDENHALL v STORM, PREVIEW Friday May 27, 2016 COVENTRY Storm are back in action on Sunday as they visit Mildenhall in the Travel Plus National League (3.30pm). The trip to West Row is one of the most popular of the season for supporters, and it is a venue where the City Gearboxes Storm have enjoyed some degree of success in recent years, with an away win in 2014 and other competitive displays ending with league points gained. But they will still be without broken scaphoid victim Liam Carr, with the rider-replacement facility in operation, although Jamie Halder returns to the team at reserve after school exams caused him to miss the matches at Kent and Cradley. The home side have experienced mixed fortunes early this season with injuries also having affected them but they are almost back at full strength for the fixture, missing only Luke Ruddick at reserve. Jon Armstrong and Dan Halsey form a powerful spearhead on paper but in fact they have been upstaged so far by youngster Connor Mountain, who takes over the No.1 spot for the Fen Tigers. Storm boss Laurence Rogers said: We know the likes of Jon and Dan are experts around there, but weve got to work on the ones we can get points off, as we did at Cradley. Its good to have Jamie back after his exams but weve still got to use rider-replacement, which well keep at No.3 because I feel it worked there on Monday. Its another tough match, but getting something out of it is very do-able for us. Exactly. Kaspazak could have pulled out of the meeting but instead came from the funeral to ride for the bees, showing good commitment. You could tell his mind wasn't in it like usual though which was understandable. With regards to this meeting last night, here is a video of heat 2 http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.30553 -

On the topic of KK, congratulations to him qualifying for the final round of the GP qualifiers. He finished 2nd and scored 2,3,3,3,3 👍🏻 -

Stevebrum hates everything Coventry. I guess it's due to having been second best to us for most of the time 😉 -

Top post 👍🏻 What I liked last night was that there was no cheating or dirty riding, just two teams giving it their all on track. Good banter at the track between born set of fans. A good advert for speedway with some fast races times. What was even better to see was from 14 riders, 10 of them were British! 🇬🇧 You don't see that enough. It was refreshing to see races with 4 Brits at the tapes. -

Best bit is one of the 2 posters suggesting it doesn't support either team 😂Just part of the Lindgren fan club. I wonder if he will still be singing Freddie's praises if he rides as poorly for Wolves. RR would have been better than Lindgren as all our own riders out scored him and were faster. -

I'm confused as you keep stating this but I'm not sure where you are getting that KK has scored 5 or less in 50% of his home meetings? His scores this year at Brandon so far: Poole 13 (3,3,3,3,1) Leicester 10 (3,2*,2,3) Wolves. 4. (3,1,R,R) Poole. 5. (0,3,2*,0) Swindon. 11 (1,4,3,3) Wolves. 14 (3,3,3,3,2) Lakeside. 11 (2,3,1,3,2) And that has been riding at no 1. Freddie has rode at Brandon as a 2nd string for Wolves so was mainly against reserves & 2nd strings. Next you will be saying Branford replacing Bates made us stronger 😂 Very good post 👍🏻 I assume Cook & Fricke were in the last heat as they had been gating well & looked fast. I was surprised to see Jacobs get 4 rides. I think Belle Vue look strong this year. It should be a convincing home win for you on Monday. -

Garrity's chain came off the bike so the whole bike seized which made Woryna have to avoid him. Only Jason should have been excluded but ref excluded both which turned a 3-3 into a 0-5. Jason was also unlucky when beating Fricke in heat 1 before his engine blew. Garrity was amazing in next 2 rides after sorting his bike and left Nicholls, Cook and the Worrall brothers trailing. Good to see him coping so well in the top 5 😉 -
Great crowd at Coventry tonight which was good to see esp when England were on telly and the MTV crashers was at the Ricoh which could have affected it. That was with people knowing we had 2 riders missing & were using a NL rider in top 5 as well. Sad to think we might not have a Stadium to go to next year

Bees also had bad luck. Lindgren,Woryna & King falling. EF for Garrity in 2 rides including the 0-5. Shocking guest in Lindgren. We were unlucky to lose Bates on the eve of the meeting as well. l. -

Congratulation to Coventry on a great win against a strong Belle Vue team. Good to see a big crowd and also some good racing. For Coventry Harris was brilliant to watch and only dropped one point to an opposing rider. Looked full of confidence again. King carried on his great form. It was frustrating to see Garrity have bike problems in first rides but once he sorted them he had so much speed and was unbeaten by a aces rider. Woryna looked abit uncomfortable compared to normal but that's understandable after what's recently happen. Sarjeant's points tonight do not reflect how well he rode. He had a great race to go from last to join Kacper on a 5-1 in heat 2 and was always in the thick of it in his other races. A lot more confidence & speed. Both guests were poor tonight. Branford tried hard but is not a top 5 rider. Lindgren was shocking. For Belle Vue I thought Fricke was brilliant and very fast. He gated well all night. Always love watching him at Brandon. For some reason he's been at Brandon in the pits at our last few meetings so strange to see him on track instead lol. Cook and Zagar looked great in some races but had a few off rides. I was surprised that Nicholls & Worrall weren't better after watching them on Mon although Worrall was unlucky to lose heat 12. Jacob looks really off the pace and out of his depth. An enjoyable meeting. I have no doubt though that Belle Vue will get their revenge on Monday -

😂😂😂😂😂 In the 1 meeting KK scored 4 he had just come from a close family members funeral. What was Freddie's excuse? His points seriously flattered him. He was embarrassing. -

Funny you should say that as Lindgren didn't manage any more than that! Was gifted one point when he was beating easily beaten by Scott. Even at his worst KK rides better than that. Can see why they booked him but in hindsight RR would have scored much more. -

It's not impossible to win as we showed against Poole & Wolves although it's going to be harder now with no Bates or KK. This Belle Vue team were brilliant away on Monday and made a good Poole team look average at home. For that reason I'm going to predict 40-50 -
Now that Hans is in the SEC, will that mean a 6pt PL rider at number one on 20th August for Poole's trip to Leicester?
