  1. Harris has had some great recent meetings. His recent away meeting at Wolves he scored 13 and he also scored 13 on our last home meeting.
  2. Terrible post from a clueless troll!! I actually know a lot of people who like Harris who don't support Coventry. A lot of people also like him guesting for their teams. As for the comment about us turning against him if he rode for somebody else, you must have forgot that he rode for Belle Vue & Birmingham and was still highly popular with bee fans. I guess not everybody is as fickle & disrespectful as you
  3. Thursday June 16, 2016 COVENTRY will parade new British Champion Danny King ahead of Fridays important Elite League clash with Kings Lynn at Brandon (7.30pm). King took a sensational victory in Mondays British Final at the National Speedway Stadium, which also books him a place as Wild Card in the British Grand Prix next month. But it is now back to business for the Buildbase Bees, who go into a run of matches against teams in the lower half of the table. Friday sees Kings Lynn make their first visit of the season to Brandon, and Bees then face two big away matches with a return clash against the Stars next Wednesday in Norfolk, followed by the trip to bottom club Leicester on June 27. Positive results in those matches could significantly enhance their position, as although Bees have won their last three home fixtures, they have so far taken just one league point on the road. They are set to be at full strength on Friday with Josh Bates returning after missing the last five matches due to a combination of international duty and injury, whilst Jason Garrity also lines up despite his crash at Belle Vue on Monday which did lead to fears over an arm injury. New averages result in James Sarjeant moving up into the main body of the team for the first time. Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: We are all so proud of Danny, and it really was a great moment on Monday for everyone connected with the club. It couldnt have happened to a nicer guy in this sport. Its richly deserved, and in my opinion the nearly man has finally got it right. Hes on-form at the moment, around Brandon he really is good, and Im looking forward to meeting up with him on Friday. It should be a tremendous evening. Well get Danny paraded around before the Kings Lynn match, and I know the crowd will come out in force to congratulate him. Kings Lynn are led by Grand Prix superstar Niels-Kristian Iversen, who recently clinched a fifth successive Danish crown, and they also include 18-year-old Robert Lambert, who joined King on the rostrum at Belle Vue in third place. The Stars have not raced for a fortnight and have yet to win on the road in 2016, but they did draw at Leicester and also picked up a good away point at Wolverhampton recently. Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen makes his first appearance for the Stars. BUILDBASE BEES (from): Josh Bates, Jason Garrity, Chris Harris, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Danny King, James Sarjeant, Kacper Woryna. KINGS LYNN (from): Troy Batchelor, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Nikolaj B Jakobsen, Mads Korneliussen, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Lewis Rose. *FRIDAYS programme will be a re-issue of the edition previously produced for the postponed Buildbase Bees v Stars fixture earlier in the season. It includes a four-page insert with Fridays racecard and latest updated club news. As a result, the programme price has been reduced for this meeting to £2.50. View Full Site
  4. Wednesday June 15, 2016 COVENTRY are pleased to hear Jason Garrity escaped injury from his crash at Belle Vue on Monday. There were fears of a possible fractured arm for Garrity after he came to grief in Heat 16 of the British Final, causing him to miss his final ride. However, he has since been in touch with the club with the encouraging news and is expected to ride in Friday's home clash with King's Lynn. The New British Champion Danny King will be paraded at Brandon prior to the start of the meeting 🇬🇧🏆
  5. I'm surprised people are seriously comparing Craig Cook & Davey Watt. Craig Cook is a better rider both on and off track. He has improved a lot over the last couple of years and still has a lot more potential. When he does get things wrong he can admit it & also congratulates the winner/team that might have beat him and learns from it. Davey Watt on the other hand is on a serious decline and other that a handful of meetings, he hasn't been great as a heatleader for a long time. He's one of those riders who doesn't miss a chance to moan or blame somebody else if he does bad as well. It's always another teams track to blame, the weather etc. I think after the love he expressed for golf last year, he might be better to stick to that. Give me Craig Cook anyday of the week. The fact Poole & Leicester would rather have Bjarne Pedersen & Ludvig Lindgren than Watt speaks volumes 😉

  7. The qualifier is held on a PL track so their EL average means nothing and they both have 6pt averages in PL (Whilst Garrity & Worrall, mentioned in other post have 8avg)Newman has been very poor on his visits to Glasgow whilst Starke impressive so he may not have even qualified for the final esp when up against riders like Worralls, Lawson, Cook, Nicholls & Wright.
  8. Worrall is a good rider but there is a difference beating reserves & 2nd strings most weeks and beating riders like Pawlicki, NKI, Pedersen & Doyle. I guess we will have a better idea now he's in the aces main team. Look at Ellis & Tunagte, they can score 15 at reserve but put them against stronger riders in the main team and they score no more than 3.
  9. I would be more worried if its council owed as most of the time they are the ones wanting more houses built to meet quotas
  10. He's been poor at the start of the season due to the anxiety of the upcoming birth of his child. He is more relaxed now and enjoying his speedway again. He has been great at Brandon, it's away he's been poor. However it's how he is at Belle Vue & his form nearer the time that counts
  11. Looking at Newman's recent scores at Glasgow I think you might be right http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/15121/glasgow-plymouth-pl-play-off http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/15667/glasgow-plymouth-pl-05-2016 (At no 2)
  12. https://m.facebook.com/SpeedwayExplorer/?ref=bookmarks Tonight's final race can be found here for anybody who hasn't seen it
  13. I imagine Rosco will organise some behind door practice meetings before the World Cup. I don't think you can really pick a team based on one meeting on a wet track.
  14. I could be wrong but doesn't he have a different team that work with him when in the GP and the EL? Tbf I would rather he tried new engines in an individual meeting than a team one
  15. Haha. I guess it must be strange to see a track that holds up well under heavy rain and produces proper racing. You must be wondering why there was no blue groove, big holes and ruts everywhere. 😂😂😂 Credit to Belle Vue on getting this meeting on
  16. I don't think a couple of meetings makes him a disgrace. He's had some brilliant meetings in the EL this year. Unfortunately he was trying different engines tonight. Imagine he won't be using them again.
  17. TBF King has had races like this at Brandon. It's away he usually struggles. Amazing final race. He deserved that win. Highest point scorer and what a final race. My heart was in my mouth esp after already losing one rider to injury. Was a good meeting.
  18. Suspected wrist and arm injury 😞 Mixed night for Coventry fans. Great to see Danny King crowded British Champion but New but also lost Garrity to injury. 😕🇬🇧
  19. Shame it's raining now. Tracks going to get greasy. I can't see past Cook winning this now. Looking super fast since set up change. Home track knowledge paying off.
  20. Madness. Great start from Garrity. Good race between Cook & Garrity. Race of the night so far
  21. Last year Garrity was joint highest scorer with Woffy on 13points so if it had been the old style format he would have been better off. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/14578/british-final-wolves-15-2015 However that was at Wolves. Hopefully he can do well tonight without the pressure getting too him or any exclusions. My money would be on Cook tonight.
  22. Court Hearing Response Posted: 09 Jun 2016 17:06 Letter from David Hemsley to the ACU General Secretary, Gary Thompson, in response to the decision of the disciplinary court hearing: 8th June 2016 Dear Gary Re: Disciplinary Court Hearing: Tuesday 31st May 2016. I am writing to appeal against the decision made during the SCB Disciplinary Court Hearing on 31st May 2016 and confirmed by recorded delivery of mail which was received on the 7th June 2016. Enclosed is a cheque for £300.00 as the appeal fee. This appeal is being submitted on the level of the fine and is broken down into the severn charges as follows, also additional information is required on what action is being implemented by the SCB on its officials to ensure that similar inflammatory actions are not implemented by its officers in the future. The Appeal Grounds Directly against the charges: Article 3.2.5 No comments of mine were fraudulent in deed the actions of the SCB official were completely such, in that he was dishonest to the paying public at Leicester Speedway. Article 3.2.7 The actions of the SCB official were prejudicial to the interests of the sport, namely being dishonest to the public and directly incurring commercial losses to this club which we will seek to reclaim against the fine levied. Finally on the appeal issue, we will be taking up the major health and safety issue, danger and risk of serious injury or potential death to riders by the licence official by not under his own initiative stopping the starting procedure to heat 13 when the licence official had already turned off the floodlights to the start finish straight of the speedway stadium. We will be seeking Council from our insurers Doodson Broking Group Ltd in terms of the proposed action and remedial measures your staff should implement. The level of the fine demonstrates the lack of understanding of the current commercial position of British Speedway in a sustainable position, indeed the actions of the licensed official and the commercial impact of this on Leicester Speedway will be demonstrated through this process with evidence that proves the material and ongoing damage of his error. The scale of the fine set against the average weekly income of a speedway fixture is so disproportionate that it indicates to me that the SCB does not wish to see Leicester Speedway operate again this season and wants to influence a change in Management Structure of the Business. Moreover, I will assert that based upon the commercial and health and safety failings by the SCB directly and indirectly arising from this matter, I will require a full briefing on how the SCB will deal with the appropriate action, training and education of its own officials to ensure that no other members of the BSPA has this issue in the future and our insurers can be informed accordingly to ensure continuity of cover and best practice through continued professional development and learning. To completion I would also wish to make it clear that the manner and content of the publication of the news of the disciplinary action on the BSPAs website was prejudicial to the interests of Leicester Speedway, inaccurate in content and misleading and I will again be seeking recompense going forward against the SCB for this matter, the extent of which can not be fully quantified at this time. Attached to this document is the evidence and report of events that I presented to the BSPA and email communication between myself and Mr Graham Reeve regarding the dates of the appeal. I look forward to hearing from you in due course. Your sincerely David M Hemsley
  23. Ouch. I'm not even sure a game of golf is going to make that better for him 😉
  24. Where are you looking? Most I have seen have light rain until 6pm. Also been some rain over the weekend. Let's hope they are wrong though 🙏🏼
