Great guest choices in ex Hammers Pedersen & Robbo. How can Robson guest for Charles Wright though when he's not on the draft list and already has an EL average? He wasn't allowed to guest for Newman.

Thursday July 21, 2016 COVENTRY face another of the Elite Leagues title favourites when Belle Vue visit Brandon on Friday (7.30pm). Matches between the Buildbase Bees and the Aces have been amongst the big highlights in recent seasons with the last two clashes in particular including earlier this year going right down to the wire with Coventry triumphing in last-heat deciders. Its nearly five years since the Aces were last victorious at Brandon but they have significantly gained in strength over the last two campaigns, having reached the Elite League Grand Final in 2015 when they narrowly missed out to Poole. The men from Manchester have a powerful spearhead in Slovenian Grand Prix star Matej Zagar along with British Final runner-up Craig Cook and former Bees skipper Scott Nicholls whilst Australian youngster Max Fricke starred on their previous visit and is enjoying a terrific season. Bees are set to welcome back James Sarjeant at reserve after he missed the home and away matches against Poole following a crash at Ipswich last week. Sarjeant was due to return for the Witches against Peterborough on Thursday, meaning Jason Garrity is likely to be the only regular absentee, although he too is approaching a comeback and should line up for Sheffield in this weekends Premier League Fours. In the meantime, Ben Barker continues as Garritys stand-in for the Bees in their final fixture before the Elite League takes a week off for the World Cup. Skipper Chris Harris said: We can definitely re-group for Friday. Were at home, and weve got to go for big points and a big home win against Belle Vue. Theyre a strong team but we can win at home - well be alright. Fridays meeting also includes a second-half Midland Development League match between the Vikings and Milton Keynes, and 125cc demo races involving newly-crowned British Champion Dan Thompson. BUILDBASE BEES (from): Ben Barker, Josh Bates, Chris Harris, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Danny King, James Sarjeant, Kacper Woryna. BELLE VUE (from): Craig Cook, Max Fricke, Joe Jacobs, Scott Nicholls, Richie Worrall, Steve Worrall, Matej Zagar. Bates is now a doubt though as crashed which has hurt his knee again 👎🏻 We never seem to have a full team

Belle Vue is a different type of track. Much better for passing so should be okay. More than one race line 👍🏻

Where was he when his country needed him last few years? Now he returns when we are straight to the final 🤔 I like Nicholls but his form has been worse than Cook & Harris esp at home. -

Sounds like a shocker. Why wasn't it called off sooner instead of keeping fans waiting for 2 and a half hours! Yes we all know Batchelor doesn't like a drop of water so usually sulks like a lost puppy but from updates on Twitter it seems that the track was a mess from heavy rain and not good viewing. I feel sorry for all the fans who made the journey 👎🏻 -

Congratulations to Poole tonight who gave an all round better team performance. We had a shocker which is no surprise as we have been rubbish away all season except for against lower teams like King's Lynn & Leicester. Hoping that this is the last meeting we see of Barker with Garrity nearly ready to come back. Poor from King compared to how good he's been lately & inconsistent from Harris who got a 5-1 & 8-0 with KK plus and EX but then no where in his others. Only one plus for us and that Kaspazak who only dropped one point all night. He's amazing at the moment. God help us in the 3 meetings where we have to use a 6pt PL instead of him due to the SEC 🙈 -

Why does Woryna do a lap of honour when he comes last! Does it everywhere we go. Embarrassing. Sounds like KK is flying -

Where have I made an excuse? So are you saying Bates made up his injury & didn't sit out the weekend? Pooles not his best track anyway. As for Woryna & Barker what excuses have I made for them? The reason we are losing is the same reason you lost Monday, we are crap -

Can excuse Bates as he's riding with a knee injury, but no excuses for Woryna. & Barker! Now do you see why I predicted 58-32 Thanks god for Kaspazak -

Doubt it. You will get 10-2 just from the 2 reserve races alone Sarjeant doesn roll, he anticipates it and sometimes goes too early. There's a difference. However it still gets annoying. There's also a difference in the amount of years they have been riding & experience they have -

I can't see Swindon being as poor again. They were up against a inform Wolves team who are unbeaten at home. King's Lynn have improved abit but still very hit and miss and they have raced against lower table teams. Think this is going to be very close. -

Don't envy the riders having to wear their Kevlers and race in this heat. I think with us having a team of racers on a dusty gate & go track it should be a very comfortable home win. I think it would have been anyway as can't see our reserve pairing beating anybody. Predict 58-32 and lots of dust. Roll & go Hans to score double figures now SEC is done. -
I would agree with that and can see those being the riders they take. Worrall has progressed a lot this year compared to other draft riders but there's a big difference coming up against reserves & 2nd strings and coming up against Emil, Hancock & Pawlicki.

Does nobody work in Poole 😉 -
I agree. If we had Woryna as squad member and replaced him with another rider with a average above 5 then that would bring Bates back to reserve. The problem is that he won't get to move back there with Woryna & Sarjeant struggling
-
They are beating other teams heat leaders so doing their job. It's Not the top 3 that is our problem. If we race next year I would have them back. It's the lower order that's costing us.

Unfortunately that will dry straight out once the sun arrives esp with forecasts of 28 today and it still being hot during the meeting. It's going to be even more gate & go than usual, although Steve Shovlar ensures me there will be more passing than Friday so that should be in most races. -
