Leicester V Poole, Monday 29th August @ 19:45
mdmc82 replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No. It's the wolves doubleheader (aka Tai show) that's on sky tomorrow night. -
Words from Bates on his final meeting of the season for Coventry. Bates said "I wasn't making the starts tonight, but the engine Ive got from Brian Karger is working really well around here at the moment. Im happy to get double figures again especially as its my last meeting at home, but I really want to be back here next year well have to see what Mick Horton says! This has been the best Elite League club Ive ridden for, everyone in the club has been good and Ive really enjoyed the season.

Great of the speedway star to give riders advance notice that there are suspicions and test will happen

I get what you are saying although I personally like the SEC and think it's the 2nd biggest series after the GP. Why shouldn't Kaspazak want to be Europeon champion as he's not in the GP this year. The point is Kaspazak has shown more commitment this year than any of the past ones. Remember the days when he rode for Poole and he had those "back problems" that meant he missed meetings for them but still rode abroad. Did we ever think we would see the day he missed a GP practice for British speedway? Not many do. NKI didn't even ride on Thur to rest himself for the GP on sat so King's Lynn had no facility. KK even flew over after a close family members funeral to ride for us. KK this year has been a proper number one this year and has been a joy to watch. He would definitely be the 2nd name on my teamsheet for next year 👍🏻 It was a horrific crash. I'm surprised but relieved that it wasn't more serious. I hope he has a speedy recovery. There is a video of the crash on Facebook. It's even worse seeing it live ☹️ -
Watching Lakeside last night I would say the answer is no. If it wasn't for their home track advantage then they wouldn't be anywhere near. Both reserves are way out of their depth. Bridger is the worst visiting riders I have seen on both visits. He just does wheelies instead of racing. When he was in 2nd place, King passed him and he suddenly lost 3rd spot as well and ended up last. If Lakeside get in they would just be making up the numbers as no chance of beating Poole, Belle Vue or Wolves. for Lakeside to have a chance of making a final, next year they need to use riders who can ride other tracks rather than just Lakeside. AJ, Lawson & Kennett would be worth keeping & build around them

I have 14+2 in my programme, although I guess that is 16 with bonus points. He was really good tonight. Has definitely developed a lot as a rider this year. -

Firstly I hope Sam Bebee is going to be okay after his horrific crash. Wish him all the best. How on earth is this Lakeside team even in the play off battle? This was the worst visiting team this season by a long way. Kennett & Scott were the only riders who looked interested. Bridger is shocking and spends more time doing wheelies than racing. Kerr & Mear are not strong enough for the EL although with Kerr it's understandable after what's he's been through. AJ was a miss for Lakeside tonight. It was a good team performance for Coventry tonight. Kaspazak scored double figures and rode well even though he has a big meeting tomorrow. I have been really impressed with the commitment he has shown to the bees. Garrity & Bates deserved their heat 15 call up. Both were brilliant tonight. Garrity was flying with another double figure score tonight (13) He's proven that he is a top 5 rider. Bates was great in his last meeting for the bees this season and scored 14. He's really developed as a rider this year and has been great to watch. It wasn't the best meeting racing wise this season but you can only race what's in front of you. We scored well from Bomber's rides so RR worked well but it did seem strange without him. This was the only meeting he's missed all season. -
BREAKING #speedway NEWS: @KLSpeedway have replaced @RorySchlein3 with @NicklasPorsing #klstars Not really sure the point of making chances this late in the season esp with no play offs.

Sun and blue sky in Coventry ☀️ The weather forecast it good for tonight http://m.bbc.co.uk/weather/cv8 Great offer tonight. £17 for 30 heats of speedway. Coventry V Lakeside followed by Coventry V Mildenhall. Only one more home league meeting left at Brandon after this. This will be Bates last home EL meeting for bees this year as he will miss the 16th Sep due to U21s -
I have updated the first page after each EL meeting so that it shows how many points are still available and meetings left.

Huge commitment from Kaspazak to miss the GP practice to ride for Coventry. I have been very impressed with his attitude towards riding for the bees this year and really hope we see him back next year. Brilliant from Coventry Management to offer a double header for £17 to Cover both meetings 👍🏻 -
For Belle Vue, Max Fricke will again be missing due to a meeting in Denmark. Danny King guests in his place. King's Lynn will be without Iversen again and Bring in Freddie Lindgren as a guest. Carl Wilkinson rides at reserve.
