rescheduled for next Sunday now - 2.30pm at Coventry and 7.30pm at Leicester will any riders be missing due to Polish commitments Good of the teams to come together and come up with dates so fast
-
Hopefully they won't do it too early then. Esp when forecast changing all the time. Never reliable. Had been dry in Coventry for last 90mins, light rain now falling again. Had none of the forecast heavy rain yet though.

Means bees now have 3 home meetings & 2 away to rearrange before cut off (and that's whilst hoping for no more rain offs) not going to happen. -
Would imagine crowds would be big for both teams whatever day on but more so with full teams. Typical that there has been no rain in Coventry for last hour.

Isn't it the play offs that have moved to 29th sep? Unfortunately the deadline is still 19th (even though that leaves 10 days free inbetween!) -
Do either team have access to their stadium on a thur? I would def be there.
-
No riders missing that I'm aware of. (Are there any fixtures abroad) Alot would depend on stadium availability but don't Leicester own theirs (if later is rained off?)
-
It's raining in Leicester. At the moment just drizzle in Coventry, depends if gets heavier. Horton isn't going to rush to call it off when so many meetings to fit in and I can't blame him.
-
We will have to pray. Only been light rain & drizzle so far but still long time to go.
-
Been drizzling for last couple of hours. Rain has stopped at the moment but sky full of it. Shame meeting isn't at 11am instead
-
Still a while until evening meeting although Doyle has said raining there.
-
Worst think is if you look at dates left, Howarth & Garrity already riding in PL for most of them or there are fixtures abroad. Don't envy the bees management. (Gonna need lots of good guests)
-
Guess with being a local derby it means they can both give it some time. Not looking good though. Can't see many meetings being on anywhere
-
Been raining but light so far. Forecast looking terrible for both meetings though
-
Can't see it. Usually very strict when it doesn't involve certain team.
-
Cut off date is 19th sep even though the play offs arnt till 29th.
-
The way things are going and with 100% chance of rain tomorrow, I think the bees could have 3 or 4 meetings unstaged by cut off date
-
think we are all going to pray and keep everything crossed. When they say it's going to be lovely all day, we usually get a heavy downpour so hoping they are wrong again this time (hopefully Leicester & Coventry will sort restaging dates asap if the weather is mean to us tomorrow)

Jon Cook's feeling this morning (taken for hammers site) The Vortex Hammers Co Promoter Jon Cook repeated his praise of the Coventry team as the Club wake up to the Sunday morning reality that the job of Play Off qualification is now a very tough one. Cook states: “Firstly let’s get one thing clear, I don’t lay any blame at all on the track conditions, rain before the start of the meeting is unfortunate but it’s a too ready an excuse to hide behind. “Last night we were outgated time and time again and were behind before we even reached the first turn so conditions after that point were secondary and Coventry deserve fulsome praise. “They are the team to beat as I now see it with strength from 1-7 and with a head of steam. Our riders need to adapt not complain and the exceptional performance of Kim Nilsson, who the previous evening by his own admission was woeful, proved the point as, of all the team, Kim would probably be the one who most revels in our normal slick conditions. “We now have five Cup Finals, two against our opponents for fourth place, and the boys need to show they have the heart and commitment for the Club that week in week out our off track staff and supporters show. Unlike the riders our fans don’t have another club to support tomorrow or our staff another track to build. “This is our everything. Of course, qualification is our season’s goal. Going out fighting rather than with a whimper is acceptable, last night was not.”

Getting nearer to transfer cut off date so running out of time to make changes

Sunday August 24, 2014 COVENTRY are looking to keep their incredible momentum going in a big Bank Holiday Monday double clash with local rivals Leicester. The Buildbase Bees, who took seven points from Lakeside earlier in the weekend, now host the Lions at Brandon with the meeting having a 2pm start, before they face the return fixture at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium at 7.30pm. With an Elite League total of 41 points from 22 matches, Bees are well and truly on course for a play- off place, and it may be that one win on Monday will lift them into the top four. But they will be going for as many points as possible, and spirit in the camp is at an all-time high after the backs-to-the-wall home win over the Hammers on Friday followed by the remarkable 56-39 triumph at Purfleet 24 hours later. Manager Gary Havelock said: Its another big day for us, and its nice that again we are due to be at full strength for both meetings. Like Ive been saying all season, when the boys all click together they can beat anyone on any track. Its in their hands, and the sky is the limit for this team. We have to keep everybodys feet on the ground and just carry on taking things meeting by meeting. We wont be getting too carried away with ourselves, and well approach Monday the same way. Leicester have riders who can go well at Coventry so well respect that, go for the win and then re-group before heading to Leicester later on. The play-off picture currently shows Eastbourne, Lakeside and Coventry all on 41 points with Swindon on 40, and all four clubs are scheduled to be in action on Monday. Bees, who have matches in hand on each of their rivals, have a maximum seven points available from the Leicester matches, whilst Eastbourne travel to Wolverhampton and Swindon and Lakeside face each other at Blunsdon. Its the second Bank Holiday programme of Bees/Lions encounters this year, with Coventry having taken six points out of seven when the teams met over Easter, but Leicester have improved since making mid-season team changes and there is expected to be large travelling support at both venues. A final reminder that start-time at Brandon on Monday is 2pm, with the return at Leicester taking place at 7.30pm. Thanks. With the play offs now put back a week, I wonder if the cut off date will be with so many rain offs looking likely. -

Hopefully. Coventry have been fair to other teams arranging home fixtures where the away team have most of their riders but bees have no facility and use NL riders for their heat leaders. That said Coventry have still won those home meeting even with heavily weakened side.
