Belle Vue V Coventry Mon 20th April

Wow what is your problem? If you don't like my posts then ignore them (there is a button where you can do so) Sad that you always feel the need to be so abusive but luckily I don't take it to heart. It's not very fair on the other posters though who want to post about the meeting on here so maybe that's what we should stick to 👍 -

Any news on how Batchelor is after his crashes. Appeared to be holding his hand after both. -

Glad you like my posts babe. To be honest as you will noticed I haven't made any score prediction. If I had to then I think Bees might get a point. How about you? I hope Simon Stead is okay after his crash as well. -

Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
mdmc82 replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm not a big fan of Tai but when it comes to the world cup he would be the first rider I would pick. It's a shame Nicholls has retired from the world cup as in great form at the moment. At king's Lynn I would have: Woffy (currently top GB rider) Harris (scored strongly there in 2014/2013 cup) Lambert (Flying around Lynn so far) It's the last place I struggle with. Last year both Stead and King did well at King's Lynn. King has started the season very strongly. Stead rides really well round Lynn and can gate so would depend on form nearer the time. I'm undecided on Lawson as sometimes he's brilliant but then the next meeting average. I wouldn't use Howarth as Kings Lynn is one of his worst tracks and it's different beating people as 2nd string and in a world cup. Cook has struggled in recent weeks as a second string for Belle Vue and was very poor last year. Newman is a way off being ready to race in the World Cup IMO. He's one of the lowest ranked riders on the draft (even though better than his ranking) not unbeatable in PL & EL and that's against 2nd strings. Definetely no Barker or Bridger! -

Imagine this to be very close as Belle Vue look much stronger at home this year than last. We all know how unpredictable speedway can be though. -

Sorry confused. Not sure what the reference to Garrity and heat 15 for the Colts was about. He has returned since then. Got a full Max at Belle Vue last year with Coventry. It's the programme rides we need him to do well in. Garrity is only riding one league this year which I think will make it harder for him as less money or track time. However on paper I think Coventry look stronger at reserve. We are going to need top 5 firing, just as Belle Vue are going to need a good week again from stead and Cook. -

Agree. Could be wrong but with Lakeside's away form, I would imagine that meeting will be more predictable than this one. -
If the tracks bad then Good idea. He did well at Poole on Wed 😂

Hans has two hard heats to come but good comeback. Sounds like K Bjerre is having a good meeting. Was Larsen meant to be in this meeting or am I thinking of something else? -

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good. Hope they get it sorted. Wouldn't be good advert for first speedway GP of the season and we don't want any injured riders -
Would imagine Hans or Scott will be the guest for Kildemand at King's Lynn. Nicholls was very impressive there recently. If Hans theb Would also give Andersen some track time there before Coventry's meeting at King's Lynn the following week.

Friday April 17, 2015 SWINDONS move for fans favourite Peter Kildemand has been unavoidably delayed. The Danish star was due to return to the M&S Van Rental Robins for next weeks home and away Elite League matches against Kings Lynn as a short-term replacement for the injured Adrian Miedzinski. But Kildemand suffered a knee injury whilst practicing in his home country on Thursday, and that will leave him on the sidelines for the Stars fixtures. It means the Robins will retain Miedzinski in their team declaration and will need to book a guest for the trip to the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday and the return at the Abbey 24-hours later. Boss Alun Rossiter said: Peter has knee ligament damage, and hes going to need an operation at the end of the season. Hopefully its only going to mean a week out for him and therefore well be looking to the home match against Wolverhampton on April 30 for him to return for us. In the meantime Im going through the options of available riders to come in for us against Kings Lynn.

Garrity will play a huge part in this fixture as last year he scored a full Max in one meeting and was on a paid Max in the other until he fell. However Belle Vue are a lot stronger in 2nd string positions this year. We will also need Garrity to stay on his bike. Robson is hoping to be back for this meeting otherwise Coventry will use a guest. This has the making of a exciting close meeting. -
Taken from Belle Vue website: As they prepare to meet Coventry for the first time this season, sparks of payback are sure to be flying from the Belle Vue side of the pits come Monday night. The hosts have kept very much in mind the punishment dealt to them by the Buildbase Bees last season, particularly as they were the only club to defeat them on all four occasions they clashed. But the battle on April 20th guarantees to be just as equally hard-fought, especially as the visitors boast three riders who are more than comfortable around Kirkmanshulme Lane. Two of them, Hans Andersen and Chris Harris, formerly captained Belle Vue in 2010 and 2011 respectively while at the same time spearheaded the team as club No.1 during their tenure. But current Rentruck Aces captain Scott Nicholls refuses to single out any members of his former club as being more dangerous than others. He said: "It was a frustrating start for us, missing out on those points by such a slim margin, but it's still early days in the season and every match is a new day. We pulled off a great victory against Leicester on Monday and all of the boys chipped in and did their job, and showed the kind of class they're capable of producing. The enthusiasm of the fans was brilliant and naturally they want to see more of the same. So it's important we keep that momentum going against Coventry next week. "They're a solid, well-balanced team and they've really given us something to think about after their win at Poole on Wednesday. Of course Chris and Hans know Belle Vue very well, and Jason Garrity is their star reserve who caused us quite a few headaches last year. "But let's be honest, you have to expect great riders like them to perform well at a track they're very familiar with. I don't see any of them as a bigger threat than their team mates, just as I don't see Coventry as any more of a threat to us than the other Elite League clubs. On paper we can easily match them and I see no reason why that shouldn't also be the case in practice. "We just need to focus on our job, maintain that solidarity within the team and do whatever is necessary to get the win."
