I have seen meetings in some poor conditions but when it's raining heavy and the wind blows over the camera before it starts, followed by the tyres lifting, you know it's bad. Harris has the right idea, rider safety should always be more important than points. If this hasn't been on sky it would have been called off after the first couple of heats.

What a sham! It is pouring and the wind is blowing the covering of the greyhound track it's that strong. Not much visibility with rain blowing at us watching it, can't imagine what it's like on a bike. The track is dangerous and rider safety should have come first. Just glad nobody was injured. The crowd was lower than NL, they had the right idea staying home. One of the worst meetings I've been too. There's no way this would have gone ahead if it hadn't been on sky 😡

I would like Coventry to win but think Poole will edge it esp with Hans Andersen riding with a broken finger. I can see our reserves breaking the tapes when they move cos of the wind lol
-
Weather update: dry and breezy. It says in twitter the track hasn't been watered much due to forecast so if no rain comes it might actually be a bit dusty to start with!
-
I'm in Walsgrave and it's windy but not raining now. The clouds are more white than black now since last shower 😄 Fingers crossed that's the last of it for a while and not that it's moving to the track instead.

Looking at this updated weather it looks like the wind may be the biggest problem http://m.bbc.co.uk/weather/cv8 It's start to rain now 😞 hoping it's just another shower
-
We had a shower about an hour ago but nothing heavy yet. Fingers crossed. Forecast was heavy rain from 2pm but hasn't happened yet. Still time though. The weather channel now says 55% chance of rain at 6pm and then 30% chance at 9pm. It's started raining lightly now.

So far we have had showers with wind in Coventry. I don't just go by what it says on TV, prefer to go by what's happening outside. A lot of dark clouds around but no rain at the minute. However the wind is really picking up
-
Weather is dry, breezy & sunny at the moment so can't see them calling it off yet. Hopefully any showers are light. Fingers crossed.

Rain stopped in Walsgrave and sun back out. Was just a shower. Fingers crossed it stays away

Not surprised Wolves called it off. Knew they were up against it. -

I disagree. You called Blackbird a "match winning reserve". Well it was the same with Sarjeant. We lost at Wolves by 4 points. If Sarjeant had been riding then I'm sure he would have scored more than 1 and the result could have been very different. I agree that Blackbird being missing will be a big loss but unfortunately just like when Bees came without Sarjeant & Lakeside without a team, the team with all their riders have to make the most of their opponents weaknesses. I think Wolves top 5 will need to really step up if they are to win this. They showed at the weekend that even with a reserve in double figures if your top riders can't score it's game over. It's been made even more of a uphill battle with Blackbird missing. -

I don't remember you having any complaints on our visit. Coventry had the same problem recently when we rode against Wolves. We were without Sarjeant, one of the strongest reserves in the league and yet had to use a rider much lower on the draft. -

Boxall pulled out of Rye House's meeting today through illness so could be a doubt over him riding -

Isn't there only one rider missing? -
My thoughts exactly. Showing 100% commitment to the bees. Hope he gets the deserved reception tomorrow. Must be very painful.

Looking at the photos on Twitter of Hans injuries, I am surprised he is still racing, a lot of riders wouldn't. The lacerations look really painful.

Swindon need to start improving away from home and this could be a good chance to get their first away win of the season as Wolves look weak at reserve with Wright in for Blackbird. Roynon would have maybe been a better option from those available. I think this could be a narrow away win for Swindon -
Poole V Kings Lynn - Wednesday 3rd June.

Would make more sense as Poole should get priority as their fixture was in place first. -
Hans Andersen will ride for Coventry with a broken finger providing he has no reaction to the injury after racing today. Great commitment to the club 👍🏻 His scores were a lot lower in Poland today as harder to drop the clutch and get out the gate so we are going to need the rest of the team firing as well. with Robson struggling at the moment for Form it might be a big risk keeping them together at 1 & 2

Not a meeting I'm that interested in He was going to see if he manages to make it through the meeting and if experiences much discomfort. Scored 1 so far
-
It seems to be more noticeable since the format changed. Before they would race against the whole team but now it's mainly against other heat leaders. Your highest average rider no longer has to ride a No 1 so it puts riders like Watt in that position now when before he may have been at 3
