Not sure Morris & Ward in the same team would be a good idea 😁 I personally can't see Matt Ford wanting to loan Ward to a team he may face in the play offs and I see Swindon as being a play off team.

Good news for Coventry as that means we can use Greenwood, Crang & Ritchings. Have any teams official announced their line ups yet?

Coventry may be using a 6pt PL rider at number 1 for that meeting as Hans could be missing due to SEC

If it's anything like the interview on sky then he might as well not bother.

👍🏻 good post. It will be a shame if this meeting has a say in who finishes top of the table by the end of the season. However unlike other sports, the league isn't won by who finishes top of the table. -

Sadly I agree but it's good to see somebody standing up to them and not just rolling over and letting them do what they like. Without clubs taking a stand, this sort of mess will keep happening again. Who knows, Poole may have won this meeting if it had been held in better weather but at least that would have been fairly done without Coventry having no say in track prep and the fans being robbed of a good meeting. It's unfair that Horton has lost so much money due to circumstances beyond his control. -

Good statement by Coventry and good to see them taking action. The GSI statement is so full of holes and lots of blame passing. -

👍🏻😂😂😂😂😂 Just when you thought the GSI couldn't come across anymore of an idiot, they release that piece of crap statement. Be interesting to see what happens if the weather is shocking again on a sky night now they are no longer allowed to call it off less than 48 hours in advance. Must be a very new rule as we had lots of on the day rain offs last year. if I remember rightly, king's Lynn & Poole's final was postponed on the night when it had rained and made the track tricky but without the strong wind. -

Lol. If it wasn't so tragic it might be funny. Shame Mr MD didn't decide to call back Sat afternoon, evening or night. Sun was shining in Coventry on Saturday and the forecast was ever changing so I'm sure all promoters would have called off the meeting 48hours just incase. shame however they are no longer allowed to call off a meeting on the actual morning of the meeting when the rain falls. Imagine what a mess promoters will now be in if God forbid the weather forecasts might actually change within a 48 hour time frame. 😁 -
Yes I was there thanks. Please can you tell me where I said the whole of the dirt was taken off. What I said is the track was then changed after 6.30 and yes I was there watching it with my own eyes.

Looking forward to this meeting. Should be very competitive with not a lot between some of the sides this year. Group A looks a tough one. Track has been good this season since Terry returned. Confirmed as £15

Holder has stated on Twitter that the meeting shouldn't have started. The Coventry riders didn't want to go out and Magic didn't look up for it so what makes you believe more riders felt safe & wanted to continue to heat 10 than not? I guess from now on then ALL sky meetings will be on regardless of the conditions on the day if they can now only be called off 48 hours in advance. Guess that means we never have to worry about sky cancelling a meeting on the day again and showing repeats of something else

I'm sure he told you everything 😉

What's the point of consulting them when If they aren't willing to do out and race when dangerous then they get fined. It's like saying race regardless of conditions and the risks. What qualifies the officials to be able to judge if it's safe or not more than the riders when they haven't ever been out there on a bike in those conditions?
-
He has said there is one club he has been asked to rider for that he's interested in and he hopes Poole will let him. Swindon have confirmed that it is not them.

Last time I look Arya, it wasn't the officials going out there risking their lives! I think the riders should always have a say in if they ride or not once weather conditions make visability poor and track conditions dangerous. The last thing I want to read about is a rider being seriously injured or worse because an official made a wrong call. How can it be deemed safe to race in heat 10 otherwise your fined but then one minute later it's deemed unsafe and meeting is awarded in exactly the same conditions? Easy to judge when not there. Speedway shouldn't just be about points and win at all costs, riders are human beings and their views & safety should matter.

I don't remember the play offs last year needing 48 hours. It's a load of Bull s**t. I also noticed they didn't mention anything about fining riders who didn't want to go out on a dangerous track even though GSI agreed themselves it was dangerous by calling it off after that race. Out of interest, does anybody know if all the riders who refused to race in the first SGP of the season due to track conditions in better weather also got maximum fines? -
Shouldn't be as Terry is back and the track has been brilliant this year (when it's not being doctored by sky)
-
You hit the nail on the head. The concerning thing is why when the track was good and to the home riders liking was it then changed so that it was slick like Poole's home track. They were still doing the track a few minutes before the meeting was due to start. The heavy rain then came as the meeting was due to start and the track couldn't take it with the way it was prepared. It's not right when home advantage is taken away and this kind of mess of a meeting takes place when it could be the difference at the end of the season over who finished top.

What a lot of rubbish with Sky trying to cover their own backs. How many meetings have been cancelled once the weather became bad on the day not just 48 hours before when televised. I see they did not state why Coventry were not allowed a say in the track prep or that the weather conditions were shocking from early on. They have no regard for riders safety and it's disgusting that riders were fined for not wanting to risk injuries.
