Birmingham V Coventry Storm 17th June
mdmc82 replied to guitar_art's topic in National League Speedway
I was very impressed with Birmingham on Sunday, look one of the strongest teams in the league. I would be happy with a point but think the home team will be too strong esp with Crang missing for Coventry -

RR for Luke Crang who aggravated his shoulder injury from last season 😞 -
No as he's not declared in your team so can't be said to be withholding his services. In an interview before the SWC Rosco said Adrian should be redeclared and back for the meeting on 18th, however I haven't seen or heard anything since.

Harris is going to hospital to have his arm looked at so fingers crossed he will be able to take his place in this meeting. Would be a huge loss. Danny King also going to be feeling second hand after banging his head and hurting his back tonight. I'm hoping Garrity bounces back from the disappointment of the final and rides like he did in the British Final. Was brilliant. -
I thought the track was fine esp after a weekend of heavy rain. have not seen any of the riders moaning. Connor Mountain said his was due to bike problems. Shutterworth had bike problems in one and was losing his steel shoe in the other which unfortunately led to bringing Shanes off. The more experienced riders like Greenwood, Perry,Ritchings, Ellis to name a few look in control most of the time. It doesn't matter what track you go to, NL riders will fall as they give 100% but haven't always got the control or experience which is why the NL is a learning curve. Look at most NL meetings and you will see. Birmingham a good track but 6 falls in their last home meeting, 7 in stokes, 6 at King's Lynn (best track in NL) and that's in only 15 heats and that's just to name a couple.

I never have been big fan of his even in PL. bit reckless. Personal opinion. Nothing to do with Garrity as Newman comes off a lot in other meetings esp PL when Garrity isn't even in the meeting. I agree 6 points from Possible 15 for Bjerre isn't great. However 8 points from a possible 21 for Holder is just as poor for a rider of his ability. Neither had their best night Right back to the topic of this meeting the SWC & EL are very different things. I expect Holder will score very well in this meeting -

Unfortunately Poole's too far to travel when Madison has school the next day but thanks for the offer of meeting up. Maybe if I make it up if teams meet in the play offs 👍🏻I'm not a fan of Newman's so not interested in meeting him, however like Janowski from the Poole riders. -

Neither Iversen or Kildemand ride for Swindon now. Bjerre still got race win & scored 6. Every point counts towards the total. Great win for Sweden though. -

And yet Pedersen & Bjerre still went home with a silver medal even on a off night 😉 -

Hans has confirmed he will ride for Coventry instead of Denmark on Wednesdsy 👍🏻 I think Poole should win at home. I would be happy with a point. -
Congratulations to Birmingham. Look good all meeting. Unlucky for Coventry Storm to just miss out on the race off but should be proud of what they did. Kent also looked good. Was very surprised by how poor Cradley rode as was expecting them to put up a strong challenge. It seemed strange watching Eastbourne & Birmingham in the NL instead of EL but great to see them both racing I agree with a lot on Twitter, we had huge amounts of rain last couple of days and therefore track was bit patchy to start with as hadn't been watered anymore to start with because of chance of rain but once the rain came the track improved a lot. The crashes were mainly down to hard racing or technical faults in the bikes in the case of Bradley & Shuttleworth. There are always more crashes in NL unfortunately due to lack of experience or control as a lot are still learning. Was the same riders most of the time. I hope the supporter who was stood on the away bend is okay after their fall.

And if you speak to Garrity or Sarjeant I'm sure they would say the same about Newman -

Garrity never sets out to take other riders off unlike some riders. Didn't move up to top of the tier 1 ranking by always coming off. -

BT sport is not included in the sky sports package or the Variety package. You have to pay extra for that as it's a add on channel. -
COVENTRY look forward to welcoming supporters of all competing clubs - and neutrals - to Brandon for Sunday's National League Fours (3pm). The wet weather of Saturday cleared by mid-afternoon, and conditions on Sunday morning are dry, bright and breezy with a good forecast for the day. The Speedway World Cup Final in Vojens was abandoned after just one race on Saturday and is to be re-staged on Sunday afternoon, with delayed coverage on British Eurosport 1 at 7pm. There is no live TV broadcast of this event, so it's the perfect opportunity to catch 24 races of live speedway at Brandon, with the City Gearboxes Storm one of several clubs with their eyes on the trophy in what looks an open contest, and then watch the World Cup Final in the evening. Gates open at 1.30pm for a 3pm start, and admission is £15 for adults and all children free of charge. Eurosport are charging £5.99 for people to watch SWC live online so going to watch it for free at 7pm on Eurosport.

Really wrong for people to have a go at Andy or Scott as they have no say over TV showings. Eurosport are now saying it will just be highlights at 7pm. Is that to try and encourage people to pay for it earlier -
He seems to have spent more time off the bike than on for both Workington and Cradley. Rosco was quoted last year as saying it's the way he rides the bike but he wouldn't take any advise when Alun or the Swindon boys kept trying to offer it to him.

You are so missing the point. Yesterday those of us that pay for Sky or Virgin could watch it for free. Yet today we are meant to pay for it because BSI didn't have a back up plan. I'm going to NL fours so will record it later but my grandad wanted to watch it live. Has no laptop etc only TV to watch it on. -

I already pay a lot for Sky so not going to pay extra for a channel I already pay for. Yes it's been mentioned on Twitter that it's £5.99 if just want to watch this one programme. I have already paid for this meeting by having sky. Now expected to pay £5.99. Joke -

Costs £3.99. Disgraceful really when should be free as it would have been last night. We already pay enough for Sky or Virgin already without paying more. I will watch it at 7pm for free. Can't believe they had no back up plan in place when the forecast was always poor for Saturday
