Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 8/3/15
mdmc82 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This should be one of the easiest home wins Poole have had. 60-30 -
Sorry edited it, was meant to say Lakeside not Leicester. I still think Swindon will be strong enough. I think looking at Belle Vue's remaining fixtures I think they could have some losses at home and struggle for some points away. I hope I'm wrong, as I said it's just my opinion
-
It's either Zengota or Howarth to leave Swindon (Kyle looking the most likely)
-
Howarth will be the one to go even though the only Brit in the team GB managers top 5. Wolves already keeping tabs on him and I imagine there will be a few other teams doing the same. He was brilliant for Coventry in the play offs last year. I agree completely about the average dropping along the way. Maybe not straight away as would be obvious but EF are very common nowadays. Poole have already said Ward will be in their team for 2016 so why would they want him to increase his average to over 9 with another team which gives them less to play with next year.

Looking at the pre season prediction at the start of the season, it seems CVS & Pete Adams were the only people who couldn't see how week the Wolves team was on paper. It now looks like a 2 team race for the 4th spot in the play offs (although nobody is mathematically in them yet) Swindon have only 5 home meetings left (Poole,Coventry,King's Lynn,Leicester, Lakeside) However they are yet to pick up a win away from home so will need a few along the way. They still have 10 away fixtures to come so have a good chance of getting something (Leicester, Wolverhampton twice, Coventry twice, Lakeside, Poole twice, Belle Vue, King's Lynn) Belle Vue have a good home record and have only not won twice so far, both times to Coventry. They still have 8 home meetings left (Poole, Swindon, king's Lynn, Lakeside twice, Leicester, Wolves) They have picked up 10 away points so far but now only have 4 away meetings left (Poole, King's Lynn, Wolves, Lakeside ) I think if Swindon can start to pick up points on the road then they would make them favourites for me to make the play offs, esp when you look at how away points have shaped the table so far: Coventry 26pts Poole 21pts King's Lynn 8pts Belle Vue 10pts Swindon 1pt Lakeside. 1pt Wolves 3pts Leicester. 0pts

King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July

Interesting comments from Middlo with regards to Rob Lyon moaning during the meeting @middlo57: Saying how sky were on our side couldn't do his track .i thought was a great meeting and we lost!! -
http://totalswindonsport.com/?p=22839 Confirmed that Zengota or Howarth will definitely make way for Ward. (Howarth seems most likely) I think Batchelor has been very lucky as he has been one of the worst riders for Swindon this season
-
Batchelor and a 4pt other could be more of a concern home and away than either Zengi or Howarth esp against Poole if Swindon do make the play offs. I'm sure Rosco has already decided what's he's going to do anyway. Swindons loss may be somebody else's gain
-
Podcast with CVS after tonight's meeting http://bit.ly/1f6kinO He says Wolves did contact Poole about Ward. Also suggests that Wolves will be interested in any rider that gets released by Swindon. I'm sure they won't be the only team interested That was in 2011. I guess things between him & Doyle have been sorted so never say never. I think a lot of the problems were caused by their dad from what I remember
-
That's sad to hear. Glad to hear that damage was limited.
-
Rosco had a falling out with both Pawlick brothers when they were at Coventry over money & missing meetings. so doubt that would be an option
-
Love the title heading 😉 I think it would be a huge Shame to sack any of the riders who have shown commitment to your team and are riding well to bring in a rider who is returning from a ban and who's heart is with one of your biggest rivals. Will he give the same amount of commitment esp against Poole? Will the 5th rider signed really score as much as the rider they are replacing alongside Ward? Huge risk Let's hope whatever decision Rosco makes doesn't unsettle the team too much as they are starting to come together.
-
He's full of rubbish. Didn't Wolves have first pick in the 2nd tier ahead of Poole,Swindon,Coventry,Belle Vue. Blackbird was one of the strongest reserves last season. The format is the same for every team. He needs to start taking some responsibility, it's not fair on the wolves fans who deserve better. Why is it those behind the scenes at Wolverhampton are the only ones who couldn't see at the start of the season that this team was very poor on paper
-
I have to agree. Shame as I don't believe Ward will show the same commitment Howarth does to Swindon esp against a certain team. It will also mean bringing in a lower averaged 2nd string I'm sure it would be long though before another team snaps him up. I think Batchelor had been very lucky here as he has been Swindon's weak link on a number of occasions. Either way, I don't envy Rosco having to make the decision
-
He had a couple of problems at Swindon http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/speedway/23068142 However Kildemand didn't want to ride for Swindon this year so space in team but Hans still signed for bees Back to the current situation. This could be one of Zengota or Howarth's last meetings for Swindon (before somebody else's snaps them up) who would the fans now like to see replaced so Ward & another rider can come in?
-
Lol. Sorry Hans is already taken. You are more than welcome to Ward 😉
-
You have to feel for Zengota & Howarth. Both are riding well & want to ride for Swindon. Yet one will be replaced to bring in a rider who is only riding for them cos Poole can't fit him in and who could be a big risk with regards to the play offs or average dropping
-
Easy 5-0 to Swindon with Blackbird & Bates riding in to each other.

King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July
mdmc82 replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure why you feel the need to compare them. Lambert was brilliant in heat 15 However I take it you only follow sky meetings as otherwise you would know how stupid your statement sounds when you look at the 3 Coventry meetings over the last 2 weeks. Belle Vue: Harris flew from last to first to get the draw for bees in heat 15 At Brandon he team rode JK to a 5-1 to secure the win for Coventry And on Monday he secured all 4 away points for Coventry in heat 15 Well said. When it comes to riders who I would most like representing my club in heat 15, Harris would be top of the list. Always goes out to give 100% -

Haha great joke. Anybody who watches speedway regularly could not doubt the fight & determination Harris puts in even when he's been ran over by a bike. Shame you didn't see him at Brandon against Belle Vue Friday. -
Wolves were stronger at the start of the season. Very poor at the moment. Swindon look stronger esp with Hans guesting
-
Hans has found form again in Denmark. He top scored for Coventry against Belle Vue and after heat 1 he was unbeaten against Wolves in bees away win. Should score well. Wolves really struggling at the moment. Big home win on the cards 58-32

Definitely just you. Lambert was just too good for them and had lots of speed https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mKy3YZ53jag -
With both Birks & Boxall looking likely to be out injured for a while, I wonder what Lakeside will do at reserve. Esp when you can only use the same Draft guest 4 times throughout the season. At least now they have Charles Wright as an option as well.
