Belle Vue V Lakeside Mon 6th July
mdmc82 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the only person full of nonsense is you. (Sigh) Horton was told he wasn't allowed to call off the meeting when he tried to earlier Monday. He was not allowed to on the evening either. If maybe you read the statement again you will see that 😉 Our agreement with Sky Sports is that, in the event of a poor forecast, we can give them the option to postpone 48-hours in advance at little or no cost to the broadcaster and at the same time we would offer the staging club another TV date. Win, win. However, once the 48-hour threshold had passed, every effort was made to stage the meeting as Sky were committed to the broadcast. (This is why he was told no when he wanted to call it off on the day) I agree Belle Vue's meeting was right being called off. I just think it should be the same for all teams and not different rules if your above Poole in the league. 😉 -
Can't see it. Think Howarth looks the rider likely to go

@SzWozniak: Rain off without rain... Impossible is nothing @wolfspeedway: To those who are wondering,it hasn't rained in Wolves Since 1.45pm,would have raced back in the seventies and eighties -
Not sure if Speedybee meant does he ride in Poland or will he ride on Sunday?ZKS ROW_Rybnik is his Polish team
-
Andersen is riding in the SEC meeting on Saturday. Looking at the available guests, the options actually look stronger than if Adrian or Batchelir had been riding in current form. Leicester will also need a guest for Walasek of similar avg to Batchelor with the 5% plus one for Auty. I guess it depends on how many have got lunch time meetings in Poland the next day as this can sometimes but some riders off.

I thought his average would be too high? Good move by Birmingham as they now have 2nd & 3rd highest ranked tier 2 riders in the EL draft in their NL team

Good to see Greenwood retain the Bronze Helmet

It's not really got the makings of a cracker. Tbh I think King's Lynn V Birmingham looks the best meeting even if it is NL -
If you look at my posts there all later, I find it really sweet that your always there straight after to comment on my posts 😀 Unfortunately the weathers not been great here today but I have had a good day out. Hope you have had fun 😘😘😘

Exactly. Poole look just as strong at the moment. Unfortunately in speedway riders could get injured in the 2 months to go. Teams could make changes. Long way to go yet
-
Could be difficult finding two strong guests esp with Batchelor having a 6.92 average

Noticed its dated today. Good to hear. Hopefully this will help Rose

Great interview with Rory on tapes up. It would be a terrible shame if we don't see Him back on the bike but it would be understandable. He has been brilliant to watch and gives a lot of dedication to British speedway. He came across really well on the interview. I hope he has a strong recovery Rory says he's hoping for a King's Lynn V Coventry final. That would be nice 👍🏻

The enquiry meeting is Thursday 9th July. The SCB will chair the meeting. -
Just asking a honest question as both of Swindons reserves are struggling and yet they do have talent. Lewis Rose said he had more fun by heat 5 of guesting for Coventry than he has in half a season so far for Swindon. His performance was good as well. It's an honest questions. Could a strong team spirit & maybe more support from Rosco help Rose?

Interesting comments by Havvy when talking about Lewis Rose on Tapes up. Could there be some truth in Nathan Greaves comments after all?

It does if you want first pick. Rules should be the same for every team -

Those 4points could be the difference between who finishes top of the league so wasn't really meaningless. It wasn't meaningless when it came to Horton's financial loss. Just not sure why we are told in a statement that because Horton didn't answer Saturday morning when the weather was lovely to call it off early, he was then not allowed to call it off Sunday or on Monday when the weather had been terrible all day (as experienced by the other Midlands club who called theirs off early) What happened to the rule that was suddenly announced after the 1st June but now seems to have been forgotten again? It will be interesting to see if the rule returns next week if it's raining for Swindon V Poole -

So what's different about this meeting? why were Belle Vue able to call it off a couple of hours before the meeting when the GSI statement says it has to be 48hours before which was the reason why Coventry were not allowed to call it off on the 1st June even though it had been terrible all day -

What do you mean if? It has to be called off 48hours in advance otherwise it has to go ahead regardless of the weather. Weren't they the rules? -
Coventry's reserve pairing for tonight are very inexperienced. Kent should have the beating of them

This meeting could go either way esp if Wolves ride like they did in their home loss to Coventry last week. Could this be where Leicester get their first away points on the season? -
That's hardly any meetings. Sad to see the team GB manager sack the only British rider in his team, after talking about how we need to support British riders. He will have a team of Aussies
