  1. Doesn't mean people have to like it tho I'd suggest 6 guests and r/r out of 14 riders pushing it a bit and indicative of the way the sport is run. Can't remember seeing that many guests in Sweden or Poland but then they do give their youngsters much more encouragement and opportunities
  2. Don't think it's giving up more disillusionment with all the guests and the general state of how British Speedway is run.
  3. Just started on Eurosport. Moral...never believe their schedules !!!
  4. Not sure of the rules but if Lynn hadn't signed Milik would they have been allowed to use r/r or guests all season? If that's the reason he was signed he was probably the best available at the time but if not I share your cynicism
  5. Semion......weather warning for heavy rain on Thursday
  6. Seems Edinburgh are the only ones privy to the information, Not a dicky bird anywhere else. You have to wonder whether Robert Lambert himself has been told Only in speedway
  7. Now raining steadily so they were probably right to call ignored off
  8. Not raining at present but skies look threatening.
  9. It's not rules that stop newbies from going to speedway, that might happen further down the line, it's cost. Following a comment made to a friend I checked tickets for various events at Snetterton both cars and bikes and for a WHOLE DAY they range between £18 -£25. Compare that with £17 at King's Lynn with possibly 2 hours entertainment. If you are undecided where to go to see some kind of motorsport and have never seen any live, which would you choose?
  10. Personally cannot see the difference between watching those videos, which as you say riders walk away from and posting/tweeting comments like "ha ha ha" when riders collide with Say Nicki P causing him to fall. I would guess very few people can say hand on heart they have never watched a repeat of a crash or have never made similar comments. It's in the timing really. When it's done once everyone knows the riders involved are OK I can't see a problem, when a rider is lying seriously injured in hospital it's in poor taste IMHO.
  11. I'm not going to argue with anyone merely stating my feelings.
  12. Not really sure the timing of posts 40-42 are appropriate.
  13. Lewis Kerr has, like many others I'm sure, never been far from my thoughts over the past 20 or so hours. I can see why people are saying cancel this meeting but unfortunately we have to live in a world where finance sadly dictates what happens. If the meeting were to be cancelled I don't doubt Wolves would still have to fork out stadium rent etc and cancellation fees for medical services etc. Riders would lose out on the air ticket already bought and paid for and so on. In an ideal world none of this would matter but sadly it does. I'm sure the two promotions have had discussions and decided that for many reasons it is best to go ahead. I have no idea what the riders think in this situation, but I would hope that if any of them felt unable to ride tonight (and this applies especially to those in the BV meeting) a facility would be granted without question. I've no idea what the Kerr family think about this meeting, tho in truth I doubt they have given it a thought, but surely people that love speedway as they do would not want any club to face possible financial ruin. If this sounds cold hearted I'm sorry, but I'm a realist. I understand that Lynn fans will not want to go to Monmore, but I sincerely hope all the fans that do attend will give both sets of riders the total respect and applause that every rider who swings a leg over a bike deserve. The result doesn't matter a jot, just let all the riders go home safe. My thoughts, as are everyones, are with Lewis Kerr and his family at this time.
  14. Only reason I knew was cos I'm possibly going , Coventry being one of only two teams I like watching and I can't make Brandon tonight. . There again if it threatens even one drop of rain, I'm staying at home lol.
  15. Are you in a time warp? BSPA state KL vs Coventry on 19th Aug, it's Rye House next Weds (someone's in for a shock )
  16. I have no argument with that BUT it should ALWAYS apply no matter which teams are involved and regardless of the presence of TV cameras. The problem is some riders have double standards - perfectly content to ride on a wet GP track even in the rain but not on an EL track. Cannot argue with that, you only have to look at a pic on twitter taken just before the start to see that rain was threatening. Precisely and promoters need to realise that the more they don't do all in their power to get meeting to a conclusion (see above quote) less people would stay away when the weather is iffy, One final point or question if you like. We have been told in various statements from BSPA/SCB in the past that once the referee is in attendance he is in complete control of the meeting so why didn't he tell Buster to get his tractors off the track, ditch the parade and start on time. There hadn't been much rain fall during the day so track prep should have been done & dusted but hey let's not give a stuff about paying customers.
  17. You do have to question the difference between this match and the Coventry/Poole match on Sky when heat 10 was run in atrocious conditions. Same scenario - rain didn't start until the meeting was well under way. The only difference was the presence of cameras. And they try to tell us Sky don't have any influence over speedway
  18. Roughly Rain now stopped and small patches of blue have appeared in the sky surrounded by white and grey fluffy things that look like marshmallows
  19. What a wonderfully frank and honest farewell "note". Always liked watching David Howe, he was one of those riders the sport relies on. Consistent, honest, loyal and happy to interact with the fans. I wish him well in everything he does in the future.
  20. Nowt to report until now, and it's P'ing down at present but looking brighter over Wills mothers
  21. And he was. This track is sorting the men from the boys aka riders from gaters
