  1. As chairman , it's his job and I cannot believe that the rest weren't aware of what he was going to say. If they didn't I'd suggest his tenure as chairman will be a short one. For years folk have moaned that the BSPA fudged things, glossed over them etc. this statement doesn't do that. People can't have it both ways.
  2. I wonder if the tone of the BSPA statement is coloured by the reported warnings from various riders/officials etc that all was not good. It's even been said that BV were warned to cancel earlier in the week but chose not to. IF, and it's conjecture, they were warned and so advised, you can understand the frustration of their fellow promoters. I doubt the fans will ever know the truth.
  3. Totally agree with you on point 1 Point 2 however is speculation. They would certainly have issued PRs praising it, I agree but not sure how they could take credit (can't believe I'm sort of defending them ) As a matter of interest were there any other promoters present on Saturday?
  4. Although technically the statement is correct in that it wasn't a shared event, it's very disappointing, although totally predictable, that there was no mention of getting redress for the thousands of fans. Whatever anyone does it won't change anything but from a PR point of view much more could and should have been said, but as all BSPA members only have their own interests at heart I'm not surprised. Fans are very much a secondary consideration. Those surprised at Busters forthrightness obviously don't know him. He would never get a job in the diplomatic corps lol.
  5. For those not twitter users here's one from Peter Oakes this morning Not sure about crediting the SCB, surely they authorised the licence in the first place when clearly the track was not fit for purpose.
  6. Hope this is a massive success. Bomber fully deserves it. Here's to a safe meeting for all and some brilliant entertainment. As an aside so does speedway if only to take away some of the bad taste from last nights debacle.
  7. The whole debacle wa reported on BBC Breakfast including an interview with Tai and provoked a discussion amongst the presenters. Now would that have happened had the meeting gone ahead as planned? It's a funny old world!!!
  8. Me neither but a simple statement saying basically what they have now said, issues 2-3 weeks ago would have been the sensible thing to do. Some fans may have been disappointed but would have been kept informed. Those last two words are the crux of all this. Fans simply have not been kept informed for months. I'm not sure if it's because 1 the media guy is crap (which I doubt, stuff he does publish is good) 2 the promotion simply don't give him the tools (i.e. information) to be able to do his job properly 3 the promotion simply don't care what the fans think as long as they turn up and pay their £17 every week. It's a very sad state of affairs for a club that for five decades has always had the fans at the heart of it.
  9. I assume the track was licensed by the SCB/ACU, if so whoever passed it fit should be sacked.
  10. Well there are a couple of scenarios. no refunds so BV get a fair amount of dosh in their bank account for a far while Or They have to refund everyone and go bust.
  11. They may have won 23 trophies but they have won very little respect.
  12. It's not just P & P tho. It's the whole attitude towards the fans that's the issue.
  13. Viewing online clips so far, it looks amazing. Should be a brilliant atmosphere regardless of the quality of the racing.
  14. Not sure if it was Waggy or Brian G who said when promoter that they were only custodians of the club. It actually belongs to the fans. Doesn't look as if Buster agrees, sadly.
  15. Shame it took a mini campaign from fans before anything was said tho.
  16. At least he's giving it a go, probably some that wouldn't. Anyone got a helicopter? Sure to be a few delays and lengthy introductions lol.
  17. Appears to be a dearth of interest from Lynn fans less than 24 hours ahead of this. Maybe it's the cold weather!
  18. Mimmo. , check the fixtures on the website mate. More changes !!!
  19. Her tweet said she will be hosting a couple of events so my guess is Cardiff and the SWC. The other GPs could well depend on where she is in the world doing Moto GP.
  20. Seems he had an op on the nose area to help his breathing and the doctors advised any "off" might damage the work they had done. But full marks to him for going anyway.
  21. It's the only tale of make believe that is published annually
