I'm not disagreeing with that. I still think we don't know the truth and probably never will. Until fans are told the truth consistently, and hell will probably freeze over first, the majority of pronnouncements from all promoters will be treated with suspicion

Wrong, the Stocks yesterday was the rearranged meeting from last weekend which was postponed because of a power failure in many parts of Lynn, so Buster wouldn't have known about it when tonight was arranged.

Sun is shining!!! There have been a few showers but nothing heavy, barely wet the ground this afternoon.

Regarding posting under real names, I guess 1 you are not female 2 you don't work directly with the great British public There are too many weirdos about for me to use my real name and until I retired worked face to face with the public. Police/paramedics etc only have their first names in large letters on uniforms. Full names are on the smaller not so easily read ID badges,...there are good reasons for that. I have only ever used 2 names since first using BSF.....Lady Knight which I changed to SL for obvious reasons

As I see it, one of the problems with having a handful of "top international" riders, apart from flights, £s per point etc is equipment. They ride in the GPs and use top notch expensive stuff which means that naturally to keep their reputation they need similar level stuff in the UK cos it wouldn't do them any good to be beaten by second strings regularly. That knocks on and the next tier down (for the sake of argument) Nicholls/Schlien need to use equipment of nearly the same level and so it goes on down to the EL reserves most of whom double up in the PL, so it filters down thro them to the NL. I'm not technical enough to know how it could be done but if engines were more standardised, surely costs would eventually come down in real terms. If the GP boys want to keep riding finely tuned rocket ships - let them but not in the UK league. Years ago most riders, even at the top level, used to do their own engines, the racing was certainly no worse than it is now, maybe we should try and go back to that and the Poultec Training thingy is an ideal place to teach engine maintainence etc. Let's get back to basics and build on solid foundations.

I wasn't attacking anyone, merely stating facts re meeting being changed and stating that from NWs post Sky jumped the gun when announcing it. As it goes if you take as gospel what both clubs and their representatives were saying on Saturday the decision to cancel the meeting as opposed to the televising was made after the Sky announcement. As with anything in speedway the fans, I.e. Paying customers will never know the truth.

Can't argue with any of that. EL - spot on PL- fair summary, much the better league for racing IMO NL- like the idea of a couple bikes being provided Team GB - agreed BSPA - you know far better than most fans so will bow to your knowledge, seems sensible. international riders - for what they are paid they add very little to the overall entertainment value. British riders - agreed Sky TV - not sure about them, have far too much influence and bias IMO but handled properly could benefit the sport Supporters - totally taken for granted, they should be made to feel part of their respective clubs not an inconvenience. All promoters should hold a couple of forums per season to interact with fans Summary - Especially agree with an independent chairman, preferably one with the clout to bang heads together when necessary, which I have no doubt will happen. Restructuring of leagues and maybe a blueprint combining the best of the "extra" value some clubs manage to provide should be given to all clubs.

Can you point me to where I said they had? I've reread my post and cannot see the word cancel at all.

Not quite all Sky have done to be fair. The fixture was changed from Thursday to Wednesday to suit Sky who then had it changed again to Monday. That may or may not have entailed extra work and/or costs for either or both clubs but it's not exactly professional on Sky's part, they must know their schedules. As for PR etc, I believe Neil Watson posted on Facebook that Sky announced it earlier than the clubs expected so I assume there was a plan as to when to announce it and Sky jumped the gun. In case anyone is interested in the weather, some rain overnight but no puddles this am and it's been light rain off and on since 0800.

Just discussing this debacle with my daughter and she said the whole of speedway has gone to pot this year, even Poole haven't broken any rules yet! Took me a couple of minutes to get over my coughing fit

I'm still convinced there is more to this than we have been told. JCs theory about one or other party wanting out is a reasonable enough theory and would also account for the very careful language being used by both clubs. Coming fast on the heels of the periscope diktat and the lack of excited tweets from Peatson & Tatum about thei travels it makes a perfect conspiracy theory. Might pass the time left free tomorrow evening trying to work it all out got nothing to watch on the box after all
-
Probably because like many on here who know and talk to riders and promoters, what's said is a private conversation and not for publishing on the Internet. Of course You could go to Young Stars on Wednesday and ask Buster and report back to us all

All dependent on no rain being forecast on 2nd, 7th,14th,21st and 28th.

Just to clarify, what I actually said was that I did stand with Jonathan Chapman at Cradley which is known by quite a few people. If you really want to prove your identity 100% there are things only two people know....me & Jonathan Chapman

Heat 22 brilliant -
After the way Sky have mucked Lynn about with this fixture I'd be surprised if Lynn would say more than 2 words to Sky...and the second one would be off
-
Maybe they cannot contact Coventry at moment, they probably have a life away from speedway lol Or possibly still sorting it out

It's about as relevant as all the EL matches leading up to the play offs. Watch it for what it is 4 riders doing 4 laps -
Sky Twitter feed. Nothing from either club as yet. Two TV meetings on trot cancelled 48 hours early, so unless we get a prolonged heatwave will we ever see speedway on Sky
-
KL vs Coventry now not on Sky allegedly cos of poor weather forecast. Forecast looks pretty good to me. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a bit more to it.

Has the gate & go track come into existence since NKI has been around? I ask because in the days of Topinka it was obvious that he had a massive input into how the track was, so wondered if NKI is the same. If the answer is yes maybe come the return of Troy Boy there might be a bit of grip make an appearance. As only an occasional visitor nowadays maybe some regulars could comment.
