Quite possibly it's more noticeable because of the frequency. Personally never tried the stuff nor Red Bull. I no longer drink Coke or Pepsi either..I think the difference between Hancock and the others you mention is principally the age thing. Woffinden and Lindback sort of fit with the image of the stuff. To be honest I can't remember seeing the others with the drink thingys tho I'm aware that Hampel is sponsored by Red Bull cos it's on his kevlars.

There has to be some kind of qualifying criteria. At Lynn for instance to let a rider in for free who rode say 10 meetings in the 1970s would be stretching it a bit. Even club legends such as Bettsy or Topinka should be at the discretion of the current promoter, tho personally I would be disappointed if either of them were asked to pay. It should be rider only and not family/hangers on In these days when some clubs are struggling financially it makes no sense to me to dictate that they allow freebies. Shared events however are a different matter.

You obviously have seen him ride much more than me. I don't doubt he can and has team ridden in the past but I can only go on what I have seen and comments he has made (mainly in the last 2seasons).

It's a bit more accurate so I'll take that. I don't dislike Woffinden, I don't know him so how can I either like or dislike him? I don't approve of some of his actions. I don't like the way he dresses (it's an age thing) and I particularly dislike the fact that he cannot give an interview without swearing (very unprofessional he should learn from Hancock). To me he comes across as an arrogant, self centred little git, and I know you need arrogance (or confidence) to become a champion, he's never struck me as a team player/rider and team riding is to me one of the most important parts of speedway but that's simply my opinion. You don't like my opinion fine, I don't particularly like yours but I do respect it and your right to hold it. All I ask is you do the same and respect the opinion of others.

So you cannot provide proof then. As an ex rider I doubt Robert72 hates anyone who swings a leg over a speedway bike, I certainly don't and I doubt anyone else does. Just because someone doesn't approve of the actions of someone doesn't mean they hate them. If you think it's so funny asking for proof of statements, maybe you won't be doing it in the future.

I'm awaiting your proof (I.e. Posts quoting) that people hate Tai. You seem to think everyone has to provide facts so it seems only fair you provide it too.

As you quoted my post I'll reply. I've thought it for ages just because I don't post it ad nauseum and don't argue constantly with people who don't hold the same views' doesn't mean I've just realised it. Nowhere have I ever said I hate Tai Woffinden. As you like to deal in facts can you quote some posts where people say they hate Tai Woffinden? I merely expressed the OPINION that I think he should either respect British Speedway and it's fans by riding in both the British Final and for Team GB or say thanks but no thanks there's not enough money in it and Monster haven't told me to do it. Had he said that I'd have had a bit more respect for him. I also said he is arrogant, my opinion on that hasn't changed either. I expect top riders to do what is best for themselves. I also expect fans to be allowed to express their opinions without being harangued, harrassed and constantly told they are wrong. Just to diversify the thread a bit. I have no idea how much riders earn for riding in the SWC, I assume it's not mega bucks compared with the costs involved based on the Aussie appeal for donations. That being the case one wonders why Woffinden is intent on riding for Team GB. Of course it could be because the series sponsor also sponsors him and have applied a bit of pressure. Pure conjecture on my part but if money is the be all and end all, as you are trying to imply, the question has to be asked. Edited for spelling and grammar.

Bloody hell first I agree with Steve Shovlar and now I find myself agreeing with you. Money talks and for all the whinging and whining from the top riders, Woffinden included, if the UK paid the same as Poland there would be a massive rush of top riders wanting talks with EL clubs. It's nothing to do with schedules etc, it's money pure and simple. BTW that's my opinion so it's no good asking me for facts

He admitted threatening and abusive behaviour, nowhere in the article does he admit to anything else. There again I'm not a great believer in the press giving the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He also says he informed the SCB that he was unable to attend on the date and gave alternatives but I note you haven't quoted that bit I don't know the whys and the wherefores of what he did or didn't do but I do have a sense of fair play. In a court of law pleading guilty usually means a lesser sentence, If that applies to the SCB lord above knows what the original fine was

Cannot disagree with any of that. Unfortunately some people don't believe people who think this way are allowed an opinion let alone be allowed to voice it.

Was a bit more than speaking your mind tho. As I read it he was abusive towards the referee, in the refs box. That's inexcusable in any sport. Officials have to be protected, whether they are right or wrong or anarchy follows. I agree if would help to hear both sides but as with everything in speedway, fans never know the whole truth.
