  1. Well it's good to know where his priorities lie. Self centredness comes before team and country.
  2. But surely much of that is down to the far higher standard of equipment used by league riders nowadays. Back in the day equipment was much more standard, maintainence done by the rider not tuners etc, therefore talented kids could step up more easily. To get into a league team now with little financial backing on standard equipment, i.e. Not specially tuned is far more difficult.
  3. He is not due to ride until the weekend , if the practice was arranged a while ago I agree but if it was arranged very recently it's more understandable.
  4. The only excuse that I consider reasonable for the two absences is that todays practice session was arranged at short notice and they had already embarked on other plans. Lambert is reportedly on holiday. No idea about Woffinden.
  5. Expect a deluge of posts as it appears a certain world champion wasn't at NSS for practice session today EDITED to add Neither was Robert Lambert
  6. , Well said. Also many people say the BSPA should support/sponsor the youngsters perhaps some of the undoubted profit from the weekend will be channeled into that.
  7. I wish I had a quid for every time ScottNicholls says definitely. I'd have made a fiver already and the meeting hasn't started yet.
  8. Maybe if the speedway was more interesting and more regular more people would talk about it. I fail to see why stooping to the same level or lower actually achieves anything, but them I have female logic on my side
  9. Far too many people repeatedly complaing about the content of this thread. It's simple folks.....if you don't like the name calling, accusations etc don't blooming well read the thread
  10. Can't fault the selection but what does it say about the state of British Speedway when all the riders who ride in the UK are riding in the Premier League, which is supposedly the 2nd tier of racing!
  11. I think you have far too much tint on those rose coloured glasses Trees. The least they could have done was keep the PAYING public informed. It's not rocket science, it's common courtesy.
  12. Well said Star Fever. Something else occurs to me. I wasn't there last night, I learnt my lesson a while ago, but I've seen meetings go ahead in Poland in far worse conditions and the riders simply got on with it. I've also read that Polish teams fine riders quite heavily for misdemeanours such as missing practice so presume the same would happen if riders threw hissy fits. I wonder if that's a coincidence or are the two things related in any way
  13. Totally agree with that. I assume the ref thought the track race able. Buster also thought so. The riders (or at least some of them) thought otherwise. Now we have heard Busters view, we can guess from Twitter etc what some riders thought, surely the paying public should hear from the person that ultimately decides whether the meeting goes ahead or not.
  14. And still I can see no criticism of the referee who according to the rules is in sole charge of the meeting? I'm not making excuses for anyone else but surely the buck stops with the referee, both at Lynn and at Leicester or do we just have a rule book for fun?
  15. All this blame floating about, one thing seems to have been forgotten. Once the referee is in attendance he/she is in sole charge of the meeting. That being so I assume the referee thought the track race able, that work by Buster would improve conditions and the riders views were nonsense. Or is the referee surplus to requirements ?
  16. If I did, and I may well have done, it was an assumption based on his disappearance following a rather obnoxious post. As he posted several times a day previously I think it's a reasonable assumption.
  17. We have wall to wall cloud cover at present. It's still blooming hot tho
  18. I understand that but it is a bit late in the day to announce it. I guess it's possible that quite a few people will not see or hear about the arrangements, causing chaos or unexpected parking fines. I can see where BV are not in charge of traffic but someone really should have had a word with the council far earlier. Not that councils always listen of course
  19. I'd have thought it a reasonable assumption, given that Cardiff attracts three times that number and you know well in advance of any parking restrictions/costs.
  20. Out of interest how many meetings this season have been completed and how many curtailed due to curfew?
  21. Black Kettle Pot Rearrange it might keep you occupied for a while
  22. Spot on Speedibee, no one is forced to read anything far less reply to it
  23. Glad to be of service hopefully back up won't be needed. Let us know when you get your refund....have to be fair and all that lol
