My first reaction is that I'm totally underwhelmed.

None of which seem to entice new or even lapsed fans back......I await further developments

SpeedwayGB @SpeedwayGB 11m11 minutes ago Keith Chapman, BSPA Chairman: "We will work closely with Manchester City Council and WE CONFIRM @TheAces will be in the 2017 top league." Interesting wording..... 2017 top league not Elite league

So did he speak to Pawlicki, who allegegly made the complaint in the first place? Did he speak to any of the Polish contingent? Did he speak to any of the Danes or Swedes? Did he speak to Armando Castagna? Or Krister Gardell? or any other FIM officials? I ask because I haven't read it but I would suggest that all those above are interested parties, so if he did speak to them did he quote them. If so could you be kind enough to tell us their replies. I'd especially be interested in the views of Castagna and Gardell as they apparently formed part of the FIM jury that imposed the punishment and I doubt they changed their minds before the SS was published.

I guess if a rider decided to appeal to the FIM about a breach of rules, they would have to investigate, failing that a legal challenge ( I think there is some kind of sporting court system) Honestly cannot see any rider doing it cos it would be the end their GP career. Another possibility is some kind of mainstream press interest, there have to be bookies who were affected too. But hey this is speedway so it the rules will be swept aside under the environmentally friendly mat!

It's all that crap energy muck he allegedly drinks

Robert 72 where are you?

Yes I did say the same about Screen and Loram, It's happened before with Americans and as you say in World Cups. I voiced my disapproval then also. Not to so many people (early days for internet) but just as vociferously. The fact that it's happened before doesn't make it right, and you are correct it should have been stamped on long ago. What makes it more important IMO nowadays is the fact that many people now bet on the outcome of meetings and individual races (whether you approve or not) they have the right too expect riders to race at all times and not throw races because they have a friend or team mate who needs a point or two. I've given up on anyone from mainstream media taking speedway seriously as a sport. As I've said before the multi sponsoring by Monster makes allegations of conspiracy and corruption very easy for press investigations, which mainstream media love.

Wasn't listening intently as I try to drone out the shouty twins but they seemed to keep saying it was the referee's decision (i.e. one mans opinion) but from Hancocks tweet on here it seems the FIM jury agreed so several people I assume. Can anyone confirm and who does the FIM jury consist of? I'm full of admiration for whoever made the decision, such things have gone on far too long in speedway and it needs to be stamped out as much as possible. The monster connections gives any press mad enough to be interested plenty of scope for conspiracy and corruption theories.

I said it a while ago, having a sponsor who supports multiple riders is dangerous for the integrity of the sport. Not sure how much integrity it had to be fair.

Weather...currently persistently precipitating, very grey and miserable.

Anyone seen a preview for this anywhere? It's about 30 hours away and I can't find one. I've looked in the places you would expect. i.e. BSPA and track staging it, King's Lynn, and not a sausage Very disappointing but not in any way surprising given the state of Lynn's PR this season. And the powers that be wonder why fans are disillusioned, not to mention the riders taking part (assuming they have been told it's happening of course )

Thinking about it there were probably more meetings. Most clubs ran a meeting every week between March 15 to Oct 31. The point being the majority acted like that so it was a level playing field
-
Strangely riders managed in the 60s and 70s when there were far fewer meetings and less motorways etc. Very few full timers then, must have been a much hardier generation ( insert smilie of your choice my mobile device doesn't want to lol)

Not sure who's at fault here. I think we all expected Holder to pull out so did he actually accept the booking or did the BSPA simply not cross his name from the start list. Which ever it is, it's another indication of the contempt shown for the fans. If it was Holder pulling out last minute, he isn't injured merely unavailable, a 28 day ban starting on March 15th 2017 is the least I expect. Even if he doesn't ride UK league next year it would stop him taking lucrative early season open meeting bookings If it was the BSPA , fess up and tell the people who matter.....the ones who pay to watch.. -

Not disputing that but were the interviews when he called fans idiots broadcast live at the track? If so fair enough, if not your argument is without foundation as his comments had no effect on the atmosphere (I wasn't commenting on anything else) -

Which implies Sky did not approve. all you apologists take note -
I know you have tried to get replies on social media, any response from the BSPA? Too far up collective orifices for the Speedway Star to do an investigation If not I wonder if any of the newspapers would be interested? Not a fan of some of the press but they seem to like "corruption" type issues in sport and this is bordering on it. Might just jolt the BSPA into action. Knowing you as I do, it takes a lot for you to walk away from the sport you have loved since childhood but it seems the authorities just don't care about the fans anymore so they only have themselves, collectively and individually, to blame. Hopefully you will get a positive outcome without going to extreme measures. Spedway can ill afford to lose fans like yourself.

I really enjoyed that (finally managed to zone out the commentary) if all meetings were half as good speedway wouldn't be in the mess it is now. Congratulations to all the riders they all played their part. Woffinden I've said what I think of him before and last night just emphasised my views, good rider but totally classless and arrogant. Lindgren, borderline dangerous. Cook's reaction is what you used to get most meetings and added to it all, cannot understand why Sky ignored it Belle Vue riders rode their socks off but left themselves just a bit too much to overcome. I'm not a great PK fan but he has been a fantastic servant to British speedway and in many ways its sad to see him go. I understand PK was on a Woffy engine, now whilst I totally acknowledge that PK is very very skillful, his performance just showed how much riders now depend on engines and not talent, emphasised when a Wolves reserve got on the bike and became a totally different kettle of fish to his previous races. It's not a trend I like, speedway IMHO should be about skill not highly paid tuners/mechanics etc. Bring in standardised engines
