Maybe Holder won't be paid so much this season. Ford said Lynn were the only ones enquiring which means Holder is not in the greatest bargaining position and Buster is IMO in a stronger one. If Holder wants to ride in the UK he has to accept whats on offer and that may not be as much as he is used to or want. Having said that Holder at his best is one of the more entertaining riders to watch round Lynn, so he may just may tempt me occasionally.....always providing he doesn't have a monster of an entourage

I can understand the frustration but given all that went on last season any negotiations could be "delicate", in which case silence seems a good policy until Ts are crossed and Is are dotted.

I had a conversation with Buster Chapman, must be nearly 20 years ago now, when he suggested just that. Never a truer word written I don't begin to understand any technical aspect of speedway. I don't give a toss about revs/teeth/tyres etc. What I and 99% of people do care about is good racing and that isn't dependant on bikes going 1 mph faster or 100mph faster. It happens when the majority of engines perform the same. Strangely that happens before expensive tuners etc get their money raking mitts on them. Rant over

I may have missed it but I haven't seen anything that says there will be such a play off. I assumed the team that came bottom of Div1 would simply swap places with the team that came top/won the play offs of Div2.

Having had time to digest what came out of the AGM and read the opinions of others, I've come to the conclusion that they have made a good start but need to do much more to save the sport, altho I realise Rome wasn't built in a day. It's the same with every thing run by committee, everything has to be a a compromise to get agreement. Obviously the promoters focused on cost cutting, sadly so far I've seen nothing that will increase the value for money for fans but maybe that might appear later ( lives in hope). The biggest bug bear is the doubling up/down/guest/r/r effect and so far nothing seems to have been done to solve this. Maybe that's next years project. I like the Gerhard thing if they could do a deal to get the initial costs down and sort out how to avoid tuners getting involved, that may take a bit of time to sort tho. I still have a couple of questions. One that many have asked, what happens when a doubling up/down rider is involved in promotion/relegation matches, maybe a specific ruling should be made to cover the possibility. Two if on August 1st Tommy Tucker riding for Slough (Div1) doubling down with Basingstoke(Div2) is injured and Slough want to replace him as he has a season ending injury will that be allowed? Who decides if it's a season ending injury? If Tommy Tucker then makes a remarkable recovery 3 weeks down the line will he be allowed to retake his place in the Basingstoke team and what happens to the rejigged Slough team? Sorry to bang on about this but I can see this scenario being used by unscrupulous teams to strengthen up, so I'd like clarification in advance so everyone knows the possible loopholes

Probably not on a regular basis. Change a few of the more stupid rules and I might attend occasionally ( that's if hubby and daughter can be bothered of course)

Another question, with the ban on changing teams after July 31st what happens if an existing rider is injured. And if said rider is replaced and then becomes fit again does he forfeit his right to ride in the opposite league. i.e. if replaced in the Premiership is he banned from the Championship too. If not I spy lots of "injuries" in August
