King's Lynn V Rye House 14th April 7.30
Star Lady replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No...no surprise there tho, but family not going either said it's too cold and Rye not exciting. Don't shoot the messenger lol. -
Thanks for that. From the bit in bold I'll assume the whinging Aussies need to go to Weight Watchers
-
Forgive my complete ignorance of anything remotely technical but do different tyre pressures have anything to do with it? Or do all riders use the same pressure?
-
I agree with you about the stupid black and white dingly dangly tablecloth. It adds nothing to the sport except hold it up for ridicule. It's one of the reasons my love for the sport has waned. I respect you and admire your persistence in making your stand but in all honesty is it the ONLY reason you no longer attend.
-
I've seen a fair bit of moaning by Aussie riders but not much by Brits and Danes. That could be indicative of who I follow on Twitter lol.
-
The bit in bold comes under unforeseen circumstances and I doubt anyone would complain about waiting whilst they dealt with someone. It sounds as if Belle Vue did all they could to make up time, so well done to them.

I wonder if Pearson will be quite so shouty on BT. I don't watch much sport but recall reading posts that say Sky commentators are all shouty. why are BTs lot like?

King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership
Star Lady replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I used to sell raffle tickets and I occasionally used to work on the turnstiles circa late 1990s there were very rarely more than 4 turnstiles open. 2 full price and concession/child on the home straight and one (occasionally) 2 on the crown of the 3/4bends. I can't remember many if any delayed starts tho. -
King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership

2015 NL at Lynn, 2016 at Peterborough. You should ask why someone like myself doesn't bother going 2 miles up the road after 40+ years of going week in and week out. From what I hear about last night someone is listening and trying to improve things. Let's hope it continues and I might get back into the habit again because in many ways I do miss it. -
What about the 800 that are already in the stadium, having made the effort to get there on time, some of whom may well have work to go to later in the evening? Should they be late for their paid employment because others sit in their cars in the car park until 5 minutes before the start time? The only time a delayed start should happen is if there has been major disruption on the roads leading to a stadium or other such unforeseen circumstances. Well done Lynn for stating starts will not be delayed again, let's hope they stick to it.

Visiting Edinburgh & Glasgow
Star Lady replied to Speedball's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hope it goes well mate. I have fond memories of my trips to Edinburgh, there are some good folks up there -
Well as Rob is now the promoter it will be interesting to see if he tells Buster to get off the track and meetings move faster. Family have decided not to go tonight cos they don't want to be standing about whilst it's still quite chilly. Comment was if it definitely started at 7.30 (as stated in PR) and all over by 9.15 we would go. Guess I'll have to wait another week for a peaceful evenings TV viewing What also got mentioned was Bob Dugard was notorious for track grading but we can never remember too much standing about or late finishes at Eastbourne.

Damn you Trees my screen is now covered in coffee. Rob n Dale set the prices....now let me think for a moment......
-
No but I know someone who might and they asked if I knew how much they were. Maybe I shouldn't bother trying to find out for them EDIT Yeah they have just tweeted with season ticket prices.....one day before the season starts - well 32 hours to be precise
-
Have Lynn announced season ticket prices yet. Just looked on the official site and cannot find anything. Last re season tickets is in latest news dated Mar 28th. Maybe they aren't doing season tickets this year
-
Agreed. Maybe the ref should be fined every time he fails to do this Come on Gemini when have you ever known speedway and sensible to go together Me neither. Maybe it was those old style helmets that used to have peaks on the front that stopped the sun dazzle
-
Simple take your speedway clothes to work in a bag, change when you finish and eat at or near the stadium.
-
Judging by the number of comments, a start time of 7.30 is what customers want.
-
Sun delays usually happen around 8 o'clock so tapes up at 7.30, interval at 8. Where's the problem And why is the track still being prepared at 7.30 sometimes still is at 7.45, Can you imagine Old Trafford 10 minutes before kick off and they are still painting the white lines! It's about having respect for paying customers by being ready.

As is Troy Batchelor.
