mmmm now don't try telling me that was a management initiative Trees

In the days you are talking about there was a meeting every week on the same day of the week and at the same time. They could turn up on a Saturday night at 7.30 and know they would see a meeting. Even ten years ago you could turn up on a Wednesday at 7.45 and know you would see a meeting. So casual fans didn't need reminding that every 2 or 3 weeks they might get to see a meeting or there might be 2 in a week maybe the times we've moved to ain't that good !

Meanwhile with the lack of information "casual" fans will have made other plans

Kings Lynn Stars Vs Leicester 10/05/17
Star Lady replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be frank the Supporters Club are far more informative than the club. -
How many of the crowd actually attend them tho. . Jonathan used to walk around the terraces most weeks and was always approachable even if folk didn't always like the answers. Waggy was always about after meetings. Cyril Crane and Maury Littlechild were always about. Fans appreciate one to one conversations far more than easily controlled after match press conferences, although I agree they are better than nothing, but kids with school next day probably miss out on them! No comeback on here....I'm pretty sure it was on the internet where I heard management refer to "keyboard warriors". There's nothing stopping any of the management replying to comments on here, even if they use an alias (members are pretty quick to work out who is who.

Trees I would never doubt your commitment to the club, I know from the KREST days how much work you put in then and must do now. However being so "close" to the club can have the tendency to cloud your judgement. Many people didn't share my opinions of Waggy but they didn't talk to him as much as me. You say management are approachable....not the issue. It's them that should be approaching the fans by way of better communication both in person and on social media. Their hearts might be in the right place but they have to show that not assume that the fans know it. This is especially so after the last few seasons of almost zero good PR (or any PR at times) and a now underperforming team. Fans should never be taken for granted and IMHO that's what's happening at present.

I can back that up HT, still waiting for the high winds to appear as well. There is no way Lynn can be defended over this, nor should they be. I hope you have found something to interest you during your unexpected free time in Lynn HT even if it's only a very chilly walk round the old historic part of the town.

Apparently it was to get a visa if other posters are to be believed.

I'm 2 miles from the track and there has been no rain here today, or yesterday. As for strong winds....balderdash and piffle, the branches of the trees are hardly moving and my washing was hanging lanky on the line this afternoon. Yes it's blooming cold and there would have been a very small crowd so why not tell the truth instead of inventing weather that isn't here. It's sadly becoming the norm now for Lynn to treat fans like morons.

So is his autobiography the "massive project" that's in the thread title? I see from Amazon it's launched on May 18th. If it is, it kinds of hits all the "want to help British speedway" comments on the head

Get Nicki P instead of Holder. Well I can dream.

A couple of things that annoy me about speedway (yes Trees more ). Anyone in management calling fans keyboard warriors, cos whatever their views they are entitled to state them, abuse apart, especially if they are paying customers. The second is the secrecy that seems to surround the sport. Fans are not idiots nor are they delicate little flowers that need the truth keeping from them. Maybe if the fans were given more information in good time there would be less keyboard warriorism. Just a thought. -
Seems strange that Lynn have to go to Somerset on a GP weekend when there are so few GP riders in the UK. As you say it's the fans that miss out.

Speedway And Disabled Admission.
Star Lady replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If the person with Autism is unable to cope alone then of course the carer should get in free. As for receiving Carers Allowance, many carers don't receive or claim it. That doesn't mean the person being cared for is any more or less disabled. I am a carer and have been for 30 years but don't get Carers Allowance having never claimed it. As I said before if the facilities are such that a disabled person can use them totally unaided and therefore have the same experience as a non disabled person I really don't see why a carer should get in free. However if a disabled person cannot use ALL the facilities (i.e. access toilets or all the terracing so as to choose their own viewing point) to the same standard as a non disabled person then they should. -

Speedway And Disabled Admission.
Star Lady replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
IMHO much depends on the facilities in the stadium. If the facilities are such that the disabled person can manage without a carer, I see no reason for said carer to have free admission (reduced maybe but not free). If the disabled person is unable to fully use the facilities provided i.e. terracing, bar, toilets etc without help then the carer should be admitted free of charge. As referred to above not all disabilities are visible but not all disabled people need a carer if the facilities provided are good. -
