  1. For those that don't do Facebook or twitter... Lewis Rose is taking a break from the sport. Lynn have signed Michael Palm-Toft as replacement.
  2. Sorry this is nothing but a total farce. I predict a Press Release on Tuesday calling Wednesday's meeting off because of previous heavy rain coupled with poor forecast. Anyone want to bet against it?
  3. 2 miles from the track is close enough I think We had a week or more of hot dry weather, so presumably the water table went down a bit. There was heavy prolonged rain most of yesterday, I don't think there was much, if any, overnight There have been a couple of sharp showers today and one about 15-20 mins early evening. Five or so years ago there would have been no question that the meeting would have gone ahead and been reasonable competitive but times/engines/riders have changed and the latter certainly don't like the damp. I can see where promoters are coming from nowadays in that financially to call off early might be wise but as g13webb says the meetings have to be fitted in later in the season, with the associated financial implications. It's a dilemma and one I'm delighted I don't have to wrestle with. My ideal answer would be to detune the bloody engines so that racing is reliant on rider skill, including the skill to ride in most weather conditions, but I realise it's a pipe dream.
  4. Then the sun came out, and now it's black over Will's mothers. who'd be a promoter
  5. Raining steadily now, just for the doubters amongst you
  6. King's Lynn Speedway‏ @KLSpeedway 1h1 hour ago More BREAKING | KING'S LYNN have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone tonight's Premiership meeting with Poole. The decision is based on the Met Office forecast which suggests at least three hours of constant rain and more at key times this evening.
  7. Just seen a tweet that he is not riding for Poole tomorrow against the Bloaters as personal issues remain unsolved. Strangely they are solved in Poland
  8. Weather update blue has disappeared from the sky, now all various shades of grey with occasional glimpses of brightness round the edges. No wet stuff as yet.
  9. Having listened to Carole Kirkwood on Breakfast this morning, my money would be on no but that's purely a personal opinion. Let's put it this way, I haven't hung any washing out today Will update later if you want.
  10. I'm here sweetie Still a few puddles around in town centre, blue skies with lots of white/light grey fluffy stuff and a slightly less than brisk breeze. Don't think it rained much overnight but it hammered down most of yesterday.
  11. Good heavens NO NO NO It's extra entertainment, with a side benefit of riders learning a bit about track conditions. Include it in the meeting in any way and as your last comment suggests you just bring in more and more complicated rules.
  12. Common sense would dictate that 14 riders all on track at full speed at the same time would be a disaster waiting to happen. hot laps are rider doing laps at full speed in relative safety. I thought anyone with with an iota of sense could see the difference.
  13. Starman, I didn't say it was you, there are others who I assume are Poole fans (or baiters) commenting on the make up of the team going forward, not just for this meeting. dont get stressed over speedway mate, it ain't worth it
  14. I have no problem with posts about the meeting but posts about the merits of Shanes, Killer, Holder et al being part of the team belong on the Poole thread NOT a single meeting thread. Glad you are feeling better and back to defending Poole come what may , I mean that xx
  15. Roll on Thursday when the Poole fans might just go back to their own thread to talk about the make up of their team..... nah they'll go and invade whichever club has the misfortune to host them next
  16. I do want to watch, that's why it's on the TV. But I want to watch the racing, which means overtakes not toothy long haired blonde ladies...I believe there are plenty of them on other channels
  17. Bit like the helmet colour farce that just happened so professional and focussed NOT, mind you that was monster ..nuff said
  18. Amazing that they can focus on the start line girls but completely miss an overtake by Hampel that was telegraphed for a whole lap! sums this competition up!
  19. Maybe the debacle that was last season has meant the opinions of the fans, and yes the moaners and groaners, have been taken into account. From all accounts last night was well run, provided extra entertainment and I assume (in the absence of comments to the contrary) started on time. It isn't rocket science but it's taken a long, long while for it to happen. I have a sneaky suspicion Mr Brundle was the catalyst for all this (possibly reading BSF and twitter) and if so well done to him.
  20. It could be argued that Belle Vue then had the advantage of riding the track after it had been watered. Feeling like playing Devil Advocate I've said previously that it would be fairer for both teams to take part and they should take turns, not all one team and then the other to make it even fairer.
  21. Discussed on KL vs Belle Vue thread. Basically Lynn riders doing 3 times flying laps at 7pm ahead of the meeting.
  22. And to be fair the Hot Laps (if they happen) are a small step in the right direction. Its a long walk tho
  23. Before the meeting, which is why I suggested 2 riders from each team. That of course is if the opposition protests. If they don't there won't be a problem. Regarding Poole tellboy, their riders practised in the afternoons allowing quite a lot of track work to be done between times.
  24. That would be a shame as it's added entertainment. I like you can see protests coming. Maybe 2 riders from each team doing hot laps would be fairer and far better than losing what in essence is a good idea.
