Cardiff Accomodation 10&11th June
Star Lady replied to BUDGIE's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And if Jive Jnr isn't going who is going to guide us about the city? That lad of yours can sniff out an ice cream van 400 yards away -
Cardiff Attendance
Star Lady replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Are you accusing BSI of fiddling the figures then Steve? -
If we could get the frog to eat the ******** sound effects and then get Ole Olsen to kiss the frog, it might just work

Serious question here folks. For all those that have sat in the middle and upper tiers are the flights of stairs to the seating areas about the same. Just asking as my daughter can manage (with help) the stairs on the middle tier and we feel adventurous this year and were thinking of trying the upper tier but if there are more steps it could be a problem. I'm only talking about the access stairs not the stairways in the seating areas as we always get seats on the row level with the top of the stairs.

Many thanks Norbold.

I'm trying to find out the result of the league match between Belle Vue and Wimbledon in 1971 or if infact if the fixture was held at all. Belle Vue won the league that year but the league table I have only gives them 35 fixtures along with Wimbledon. Also the result of the 4 team tournament held at Leicester on September 28th. Any information would be appreciated.

I remember one Bank Holiday charging up the A10 to London and passing both Terry Betts and David Crane who had near identical White Ford Consuls(?) with British Racing Green stripes, both had their bikes on the back. Eddie Reeves was often see in an American Thunderbird with his bike thrown in the boot I followed him out of Hackney one night, when he braked it was like Blackpool ruddy illuminations! He aslo once came to Lynn in his then wifes MGB sports car with his bike tied on the top of the boot with string

I don't want to confuse things but there is also an Old Comrades March by Teike. It's on CD1 (Uplifting Classics) of Your Hundred Best Tunes CD set from the BBC. Being too young to have attended the Firs I've no idea if it's the right one or not tho.

Let's say we are still discussing it but I'm sure he will agree with me eventually

Does anyone know if there are League tables anywhere on the net going back to the 70s? Hubby and I are in dispute as to which decade Lynn were the worst, the 70s or the 90s?

Just seen the new Millenium Centre in Cardiff Bay on the news and they mentioned that Miss Saigon was being staged there in the new year. Can anyone keep us posted about shows at the Centre on GP weekend please, hopefully Miss Saigon may still be running in June .

How's your Welsh SCB I'm tending to agree with Rico, back in the days of quill pens and parchment when I did my exams we had to do our own research using libraries and books, none of this googley jeevesy easy peasy stuff that's about nowadays -
Jason Crump 2004 World Champ
Star Lady replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Crumpy Richly deserved, you are the best -
You mean GP riders actually use a toilet. We have a Lynn rider who uses any handy part of the pits I'm with you on this Shazzybird, boys and their squabbles are so boring If they persist I think we might just have to start a butt discussion

I Despair
Star Lady replied to The Grim Reaper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Could it be that very early in the GP season Mark realised he would not be in the top 8 and be out of the circus after this year and decided not to throw money at his machinery for little reward. Mark has always struck me as pretty level headed, he isn't going to get a wild card so why should he spend a fortune to benefit BSI? I think there are a few other riders doing the same hence the gap between the top 8-12 riders and the rest. Just my theory but it makes sense to me -
The dingly danglies should be dangled from a very high bridge and dropped never to be seen again. Sorry Phil, I can't be serious about such a ridiculous concept . The Tac Sub off 15metres I can live with, at least extra effort for extra points is involved......well in theory

Even if the jury meeting had been better publicised and posted on this forum, there would still have been those that would alledge some of the jury members had taken a kick (or should it be a bung )

Surely you are not suggesting she cannot think for herself

Great minds Tabby

Too damn right I am Tabby well at the posts with humour anyway, some of the funniest posts for weeks on this incident. What did happen to having a sense of humour on this forum BTW I know you love Jason really

that Splatty is a different issue to threatening Andersen IMO Maybe if the authorities had some kind of independent disciplinary action in place for situations like this and actually used them, we wouldn't but does the phrase flog a dead horse mean anything. I'm afraid for me speedway as a SPORT is rapidly disappearing over the horizon and is being replaced by speedway the entertainment. It started a few years ago, co-incided with Sky entering left , and has become more of a pantomime ever since. For the prosecution Riders no longer qualifying for the World Title (GP) by endeavour Meetings run to Sky schedules not safety for riders and the decisive piece of evidence Betting on races/matches ......combined with..... DINGLY DANGLIES = throwing a race in other words. sorry if that's a bit simplistic but I'm due at work very soon and I think you get where I'm coming from. As Jive said it's time to move on, cos nothing will be done about it, rightly or wrongly. I shall try my best to remember SWC 2004 for two amazing meetings on the Thursday and Saturday and one of the best races ever between Havvy and Rempala.
