Just to clarify I won't be watching on TV (don't think it's on anyway) and I don't really think you could call King's Lynn my club anymore as I've only been to the NA about 3 times in the last 4 years. -

Ruddy hell look at all the B.rits in that Score Card! -
I understand the sentiments entirely and I shall not be going to Lynn vs Poole this Thursday. That's a personal decision and I wouldn't encourage others to do the same because whichever club it is, a boycott could well be the financial straw that breaks the camels back. I wouldn't want that on my conscience. Years ago I really couldn't stand Hancock and Hamill, still can't if truth be told. I refused to boo them but always turned my back to the track when they came round, except when racing of course. Maybe this is a way fans could show their displeasure without hitting clubs finances. Whenever a Poole rider comes round before the race turn your back. When Poole do a parade, turn your back. Probably won't do any good but Sky would find it hard to hide it at televised matches if the whole of the crowd turned their backs. Get a newspaper involved and who knows what could happen

That's the one Enjoyed my last trip to Coventry, meeting took forever but as was staying over I didn't care No Trees, sticking to my principles exactly the same as you with BSI Exactly Gemini. It's the silence from all concerned that is fuelling the fire. A simple statement would at least give us the facts as to why it happened. Whether we then choose to approve or not is up for debate Hopefully I'll get to see you this time round. -

Star Lady replied to Bee 26's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agreed but the season used to run till the end of October. Now all matches have to be run by the third week in Sept. That's five weeks less. Admittedly I can remember a meeting running on November 1st cos it couldn't be fitted in -

Probably caused more by Sky shortening the season because of the play offs -

Yes it is the principle. I don't expect others to follow me. After a few away trips I thought I'd try a home one again and this looked the best. One of the reasons I became disenchanted with speedway was the blatent cheating/rule bending. The Compton affair is just another nail I'm afraid. Had the opposition been anyone other than Poole I'd still have gone but someone has to make a stand albeit a tiny one. It won't make the slightest difference to anyone else, certainly not the powers that corrupt, but my conscience will be clear. I shall just have to look forward to my trip to Coventry. -

Was going to this one but Have decided against it now, following the Compton shenanigans. Shame really I was beginning to get some enthusiasm back but then rule bending rears it's ugly head again. So thanks to Ford and his cohorts that's one bum not on a seat. Maybe a small insignificant protest but I can't see what else fans can do. Before anyone says it's hurting Buster not Ford - the BSPA is a collective only they can knock the rule bending on the head. -

I was somewhat confused when Ermolenko kept saying Pawlicki was riding. I realised the third time he probably meant Jurica Pavlic! -

Very strange that just about every thread you post on ends up with adverse comments about the mods of this forum. In it's way just as if not more annoying than the multi alias member. I've asked before why if you don't like the way this forum is run you don't set up your own but you tried that and no one was interested. -
Do British clubs pay the air fares of foreign riders? If so that obviously adds to the costs whether they score or not. Related to that do Polish/Swedish/Danish clubs pay the air fares of British riders that ride in their leagues?

Or even the next manipulation of the rules by Poole

Up the Hammers! #ABP in the best interests of speedway. -
Of course there are. The bigger question is why do the others do it? Does he threaten to pull out of the EL? Does he threaten to influence Sky even more than Poole seem to now? Do brown envelopes come into play? Does he hypnotise people into thinking it is in fact in the best interests of the sport? I've no idea but as long as the above theories come to mind, the sport is seen as corrupt and that most definitely is not in the best interests of speedway.

Should he choose a constituency close to a track, I'd suggest an invitation there too and as early in his campaign as possible. Boris doesn't know the meaning of bad publicity

Genuine Question In Relation To King's Lynn Speedway
Star Lady replied to SCORPIO's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Due to finish on Aug 12th so as long as you travel after that you will only hit the normal bottlenecks. If before pm me. -
As I don't go to Lynn I have no idea of their programme or it's cost. However my gripe, and it's not just Belle Vue that do it, is being charged for a programme and then finding out it's an old one with an insert. You should be advised of that before purchase and then you have the choice to pay £3 or to just pay for an insert. I don't have any objections to a £2 charge for an insert if I am fully aware of what I'm buying. I do realise that out of date progs do cost promotions money but fleecing fans is not the best of business ideas when they are trying to increase the fan base.

At Bell Vue last night the ref had obviously spoken to the riders before the meetings cos when a restart was called the pit gate remained closed and the riders went straight back to the tapes. That's how it should always be. Sadly the faffing about at the tapes did go on. 2 minutes should mean 2 minutes. Years ago the 2 minutes sounded and when the riders were in the tapes area if they didn't settle down the green light was flashed. If they still didn't settle many a ref stuck their exclusion light on. Riders coped then so why can't they now? Or is it all a cunning plan by promoters so the fans don't realise how little entertainment they actually see
-
Totally agree about the riders acknowledging the fans. Not once did any KL rider acknowledge the dozen Lynn fans on the 2nd bend. The 2nd bend did appear very bumpy to us, we couldn't see the track but the riders heads were bobbing up and down like jack in the boxes. Vicki says it was worst on the exit of the 2nd bend which is where the tractors pull off the centre green. BTW biggest cheer on the back straight was when some fans helped the track staff to push the dead tractor off the dog track Stal Gorzow fans liked that a lot. Wasn't dusty on the 2nd bend , up to heat 13 when we went towards the 4th bend, tho it looked as if it was from there. As for the £3 for a prog, blooming rip off and then to find it was an insert!! Couldn't be bothered to walk all the way back, which is perhaps just as well for the sellers sake. I was a tad angry. Didn't help that the original prog wouldn't fit in my daughters prog board either. At the very least they should tell you it's an insert before you buy, then it's your choice. Could just about hear what the guy announcing was saying but have no idea what the woman was blethering on about. Maybe they should do sound checks when she is there, would have though it was a simple matter to fix, the BV fans near us say they can never hear her. Those fans were very pessimistic about the new stadium being ready next year, or even at all which is very sad, I do have to say that the BV staff who assist disabled fans were superb last night

It wasn't a brilliant meeting racing wise but was entertaining enough. Well done to the ref for keeping the pit gate firmly shut after unsatisfactory starts. Just a shame he couldn't stop all the faffing about at the starts ggrrr. 2 minutes should mean 2 minutes until tapes up not 2 minutes to get near the tapes and fart arse around for a further 3 minutes ignoring the start Marshall. My fav moment tonight was seeing Robert Lambert beat an ego in heat 11. Also very impressed with Porsing, in his first race you could see him weighing up the track with each lap after that he had it mastered. Some pretty decent team riding from the youn guns at times too. Quite enjoyed myself tonight, shame about the faffing. The group of Poles standing near us seemed to like it

Been a decade since I last went to the 4s and it will be several more before I think of going again. The weather is out of anyone's hands but how you deal with it is down to the promoters and they simply didn't deal with it. The ref to his credit tried to keep things moving but the tapes taking an age to mend - really? Why not have a spare set or at least someone who can tie a ruddy knot! As for the lack or red lights - surely after the first electrical failure all marshals should have been told if necessary to show the red flag and yes I do know that's against the regs but imagine if the 3 riders had not seen lindgren or his bike!also why have 2 ambulances and only 1 paramedic leading to a delay. Took my own food & drink so that was OK. The sound system in the stand was awful. We left before the final, covered in dust, with headaches and totally fed up. Only bright spot was seeing the 125cc youngsters given another couple of outings.
