  1. Well done to the Bees. Looks like they are running into form at the right time. Must be the backs against the wall spirit Expect them to give Lynn a tonking on Thursday too, regardless of missing riders.
  2. and it's in the best interests of the sport. No idea which sport but hey Middlo baiting has a nice ring to it tonight
  3. I named Woffy as being a GBs only GP rider, not in context of loyalty.
  4. I'd agree. Personally I'd go with the latter, probably doesn't surprise anyone who knows me . It might mean a watered down league for a few years but the plus side would hopefully be teams fans can relate to, riders who are loyal to a team, hopefully far more choices for young Brits. All of which in my eyes would be good for BRITISH speedway, It might even cut down on promoters expenses re air fares who knows. I fear they will adapt to suit the riders. Which in my view won't alter much at all. We will still end up with guests/rider replacements, young foreigners being given a team berth ahead of young Brits (with all the fixture clashes that entails), and next August we will still have multiple threads on here moaning that we have no GP riders (Woffy apart), too many guests, too many r/rs etc. In 40+ years of watching the sport not much changes sadly.
  5. I applaud them too. However the crunch will come in 2015, will these p155 taking foreigners get a berth with a British club? I'd be delighted if they don't but fully expect they will and will be described as "fully committed "to whichever club signs them
  6. Well that's where you are wrong. He and you are as entitled to your opinions as I am to mine. You won't change yours and I won't change mine. BTW I'm not overly keen on being referred to as part of a "lot"....I'm not for sale in an auction no one could afford me
  7. No I haven't, my hearing is fine thank you. Pearson mentioned NKI but after Tatum had, almost as if he had to be prompted. As others have said he wasn't as concerned about a rider who had to be stretcher end off, only a rider who got up on his own. And was walking on his own, albeit with a medic in close proximity. That to me is not the action of an unbiased neutral professional commentator.
  8. Agree with that. No one rider is bigger than the sport. I think Pearson did, he only seemed to have one rider to fawn over last night. Even when another was lying injured on the track!!!
  9. And presumably a protest fee paid. Used to be £250 in the days Buster got wound up about things
  10. Not on the Thursday surely. Or do you have to queue for 24 hours to get into the kick a bag of wind games nowadays.
  11. So basically the problem is yours not Lamberts I wonder why it's only Swindon that seem to have problems with referees
  12. I am not a particular fan of Lambert. I do not rave about him BUT I can see he is doing the job he was employed to do, at home and more importantly away. He was employed in a team with a points limit. His average to fit into that team was 3 points, he has nearly doubled that. Had every other member of the team achieved even half of that the Stars would be in orbit. At various points throughout the season every other rider in the team has had very poor scores. I can't be bothered to look it up but I doubt Lambert has scored less than his average, which is what he was employed to do, more than a couple of times. Don't forget he is doing that on wages earned from riding in one league because the British authorities didn't want to bend the rules to help a British rider, well not one from the eastern side of the country anyway. Kerr is riding EL and PL (scoring and presumably earning well), Rose is riding in three leagues (ditto), NKI enough said regards earning, same for Bjerre. Schlien riders abroad at least once a week and guest at least once a week and even he wanted to ride PL. Porsing rides in Denmark and if I'm to believe what I read on here that's where his best bikes are. So exactly how the heck Lambert manages to keep his equipment in good enough order to compete with 2 GP riders as he did this week and do the job he is there to do I don't know but it won't be easy. As I said I'm not a particular fan of Lambert. I support him as I do all young British riders and it pisses me right off when I see people having a go at him but not other team members when they deserve it. For the record the rider who has most impressd me this season is Kyle Bickley, closely followed by the two McGurk boys. I just hope when they start riding in the league they get a bit more consideration.
  13. Oh yes they do but only when it suits them. In the run up to the GPs to get match fit and at the very end of the season if they have no hope of winning anything elsewhere and they think they can make easy money.
  14. If the crowd is going to be that small I shall expect a personal introduction to each and every one of them by Mr Horton
  15. I cannot believe Matt Ford, who let's face it is always ahead of the game when it comes to replacing riders, didn't have a back up plan. I have no idea what was going thro the heads of Poole's management but maybe they thought, as did a more than a few on here, that Monster might be attempting to pull some strings. Given that Poole have had quite some success in this department over the years domestically they thought Darcy was home and dry. Really cannot believe otherwise, Ford is far too cute for that.
  16. Funny that my early memories of Woofy were him falling on his backside quite a lot. Something I think I've only seen Lambert do once, and then he was helped a bit.
  17. Quite agree but it would be unfair on the majority of their fans who roundly condemned Darcy this time. That even surpasses Triple H's beach post. I now have a very nicely decorated coffee coloured screen. Think Jackson Pollock
  18. I think it was GRW who asked when was the last time Lambert won a race. Not sure if it was the last time but I saw him win at about 2100 hours on 4th August at Belle Vue. As GB says he has nearly doubled his average (albeit an assessed one). What more can you expect? MIracles?
  19. Agree this could have been done far sooner. Hopefully the potential seriousness of Ward's actions will entail a further punishment when a full hearing is held. Hopefully Matt Ford (for all I dislike his methods) has had the sense to have a replacement lined up and put in place before the transfer deadline. It's unfair to Poole and it's supporters for Ward's actions to have a detrimental effect on them.
  20. Nope looked carp from my sofa Very difficult to judge on bet365 if it's engine or fitness cos they focus on the leader and you cannot see what is happening on the other 3/4 of the track and last night there appeared to be as much happening inn that 3/4 as at the front at times
  21. That's where we differ. I'd rather lose by a couple and see good racing than win and watch a load of FTGs
  22. Didn't Ford say Ward had had his last chance sometime last year. Maybe he has memory problems
