Do you have any idea how many extra people need to go thro the turnstiles to cover just one extra ambulance and paramedic?

Cook, Vissing and Kennett banned.
Star Lady replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sorry I know you are blinkered but can you read what is written! Why should Kennett be allowed to appeal. Where is the provocation in his case? As far as I know appeals (at least in law) are allowed if the appellant can provide additional or new evidence on the case. I assume as Vissing was turned down and Kennett didn't bother, neither can provide such evidence. EDITED TO ADD I make no comment on whether Cook is guilty as charged or not, I wasn't there and don't have access to any evidence that the SCB has considered. -

Maybe just maybe, Cook is being allowed to appeal because he thinks he was provoked and can provide evidence. Not saying he was or wasn't, that's what the appeal is for. If that's the case Kennett has no grounds for appeal as he just sprinted quite a way to get involved in a fracas. -

Any official link to Craig Cook making an appeal or is it just wishful thinking? As an aside (just for Semion) tis looking a bit black over Will's mothers -
Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final
Star Lady replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's as maybe but I'm pretty sure the SCB or BSPA do have input into what announcers/presenters can or cannot do. It's going back a few years but I remember well Mike Bennett saying so from the centre green at Lynn and his presenting style adapted somewhat from there on in. I'm pretty sure he said that announcers/presenters could be banned for inciting crowds etc . -
Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final
Star Lady replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I've not been to Eastie for several years but there was always a gate into/out of the pits on the second bend. From watching on the TV since then, yes there is a gate on the back straight, principally used to return to the pits. However there was not a no entry sign on the 2nd bend gate. Therefore I am assuming (please note not stating as fact) that Cook was intending using that gate to return to the pits thus avoiding using the gate on the back straight where various people and objects were. I'm not making excuses or apportioning blame, merely putting forward a theory. Of course if the 2nd bend gate was closed that blows my theory out of the water, but as you or no one else has said that I again assume it was open. I've said before only two people know what their intentions were in the initial incident and neither of them are likely to say it on here. -

From the video it looked like he saw a fracas and thought,"I'll have some of that" and ran across from the infamous parade -

One thing I can't understand, assuming the video is taken from bend 2 which unless it's changed is where the pits are. The Marshall moves to his left, thereby blocking the path to the pits. It would make more sense to me, if he was trying to stop bikes going near the ongoing parade to move to his right, thereby blocking the path to the back straight. As none of us are mind readers, we will never know what either Cook or the marshalls intentions were. -

Star Lady replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He liked hammers, took a dislike to the Hull pits one night and put a ruddy great hole in them Many years before that I remember Russell Osborne running the length of the centre green at Boston wielding a bloody great shovel chasing a touring Russian rider who had annoyed him But we mustn't get nostalgic for the good old days of entertainment, cos it's frowned on by some -

While I agree with your views, having read reports from folk I respect who were there, Cook (possibly others too) was out of order. having said that I don't think that Lynn should be punished for misdeeds done in another clubs colours. That's just one of the many drawbacks of doubling up/down etc. Norris, Ott, Shane Parker were showmen and the sport misses their like massively. going back into hibernation now -
Well said. Totally sick of all the "whooaaas" and How close was that". Ive heard it said that they are told by the broadcasters to make it sound exciting. Last night there was absolutely no need, the racing spoke for itself.

When was the last time an Eastbourne thread went to 10 pages? suggests we need a bit more than 15 x 4 laps to stir up interest -

In some ways I admire Trees for her unwavering support for Lynn, but I think her views would be taken more seriously if she did occasionally notice some of the negatives. -

I notice you don't include Kings Lynn in the good promoters and good clubs, are you beginning to see the light? -

I stopped going to Lynn several years ago, for similar reasons to others on here. I did occasional away meetings for a couple of years after that. I still read Lynn threads, not as religiously as before, simply because you can't break the habit of interest that has lasted for 50+ years. I'm sorry but the use it or lose it argument carries no weight with me anymore. I prefer the give fans what they want and they will come argument. Think hell will freeze over before that happens. -

Much as I respect Scott Nicholls as a rider/pundit, no way should he become GB team Manager, he's too close to it at present. The emphasis is on MANAGER. I'm pretty sure Peter Adams, for instance, never rode a bike but he knows how to win matches, he knows how to motivate riders. That's a team managers job, not being one of the lads who goes for a pint and a burger with the riders. Being a good rider does not make a good team manager.
