Maybe they should have used semaphore as a back up Better still give the start tarts flags and make them do something useful co at present they look as if they have escaped rom a knocking shop - so classy for what is supposedly a world class event I think I still remember it from my days in the girl guides if they need any tuition -

Can't be bothered to trawl right thro this but re Doyle's exclusion did I read somewhere that the exclusion lights were not working and the phone link from ref box to pits was also not working. If that's the case it would explain the very long delay before Doyle was informed of the decision and Nicki asking Phil Morris why he hadn't been when riders had been told no leniency would be shown. If the above is correct it's just adding more fuel to the fire that the organisers/BSI/FIM were negligent in not testing equipment before the event. Apologies if I dreamt the whole thing but have been suffering with flu this week so hallucinations are possible -

That word should be added to speedway terminology for pootling round at the back much easier for texters and tweeters -

I'm sure your Polish equivalent would dispute that I honestly do not believe GP standard rider puts loyalty to any club above any other with possibly a slight leaning towards the own country's club (and I'm no totally convinced of that) They are loyal to the ones paying them on that day and change loyalty as often as they change their socks. -

Why would Niels give any of the Lynn team set up tips. He's riding for the opposition Only in speedway -

I think Morris should be given a bit of slack. Coming back from bad injury and probably hasn't got the funds to get the best equipment nor the sponsors. Not sure where who could replace him that would fare much better in the short term. Bjerre on the other hand................ -

Sorry no, but he often goes on organised trips so if he did this time could be the tour organiser. -

Been told by someone unfortunate enough to have been there that they have been informed if they post their tickets back they will be exchanged for tickets for next years event. Question is would you risk it considering travel/accomodation costs. -
Kings Lynn Stars V Swindon Robins 22/4

Doubt it's 4 or 5. Think we would have heard if it was 3. Regards 1, Buster probably uses as much in diesel as he would save on shale So my money is on 2. -

Too much grading, not enough dirt and not enough ruts. Contraversial maybe but on todays bikes a smooth surface devoid of dirt just means FTG. I don't mean have massive ruts but a few inconsistencies would sort the men from the boys and those with skill( Loram/Henka) from the rocket jockeys (fill in name of your own favourite gating tart). As for the mouthpiece on the centre grey, my cat would do a better job She probably knows as much about speedway too -

So why have those that were and benefitted from the cancellation not said anything? The almost total silence from all the riders is the most puzzling aspect of this whole affair. If as you have inferred the 2 above with 4 or 5 others persuaded the majority to get the meeting called off, I find it very strange that not one small hint of this has not come out yet. Riders themselves don't have to say anything, there were enough mechanics/sponsors/hangers on about and surely some of them must have found out from one of those less keen on the call off. I'm not saying you are wrong, I haven't a clue. I just find the silence very puzzling in view of the age of social media when we are used to finding out all the finer details of a riders breakfast/exercise regime etc. -

Surely you are not suggesting promoters treat fans with contempt by telling untruths by default !!! -
Was talking about this with hubby and neither of us can remember bikes taking off years ago like they do nowadays. Yes there were crashes and if the bikes hit an object (another bike or rider) they flew into the air sometimes but we cannot recall bikes simply taking off into orbit like they tend to nowadays. Despite the name speedway should be about skill not speed. Let's face it unless you are an anal anorak standing on the terraces with a stop watch you have no idea if the bikes are going at 45 or 50 mph. You do however know if a rider has pulled off a skilled bit of overtaking or team riding.

Is the race director an employee of BSI or is he an FIM official? If it's the first why? Is speedway a sport or a money making entertainment? Answers on a postcard addressed to anyone in authority that actually gives a $@#k -

Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Star Lady replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Up to individuals whether they pay up or not. I value loyalty and this year Woffy hasn't shown any to British speedway so I see no reason to show any to him. GB are not going to win in 2015 so build for the future IMHO. Other opinions are available, terms and conditions apply -
Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Star Lady replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally wouldn't have Woffy. He didn't want British speedway this season, we ain't gonna win so use Harris & King for experience and put Robert Lambert, Kyle Howarth and Kyle Newman. If we need to have a squad fill it with youngsters not been there not done its. -

I did say I was slightly disappointed and that it was probably more my expectations than his performance. Having watched him in away matches last season and on TV beating GP riders, I stupidly expected him to beat fellow PL riders, so I hold my hands up it was me not him I had the feeling especially in heat 15, which was an absolute stormer, that he was not about to take any unnecessary risks because as you say there was very little room for any of them to manouver and I applaud him for that, as you say it's a long season and an even longer career. Having said that in his other races he didn't seem to hold back. I certainly intended no criticism of Robert Lambert, who I've admired every time I've seen him race and I've always said I hope he is allowed to progress at his own speed. So I've smacked my own wrist for expecting too much too soon. Incidentally I viewed the match as a neutral and thoroughly enjoyed it despite some comments on here I thought it was a really entertaining affair. I was also delighted to hear the Boro team manager say that their job was to ENTERTAIN and to win. Pity a few more don't share that view. I expect to make quite a few more trips up the A47 this season.
