  1. Can't stand football so will be at P/Boro. Hope the racing is as good as my last visit.
  2. I wasn't there but have an opinion I'm all for a bit of handbags (IMHO there should be more of it as long as it's playacting) as there is little enough entertainment in the sport nowadays but I would never condone anyone hitting a rider who is on the deck, whether lying prostrate, sitting or kneeling. Wait for them to get up and if you calm down before they do wag a few fists to entertain the crowd.
  3. Horrible road to try and cross on foot!!! No footpaths either so be very careful especially in the dark.
  4. I've always been strange but I would far rather watch a team that is actually "mine" even tho missing the no 1 than constantly watch different guests. My 3 league squad system wouldn't mean replacing just the one rider. If NKI is missing you could replace him and Porsing for instance with 2 in form PL rider as long as you don't exceed the points limit. OK it would have financial implications for riders but it would work both ways with Porsing replacing the PL no 1 if needed. I' m sure lots of you will pick faults...that's fine but at least I'm trying to find a solution lol.
  5. And I was just replying with my opinion Apologies for upsetting you but other events in the speedway world in the last 24 hours or so have put me in a grumpy mood
  6. I thought this was a new thread I used the Poole event as an example but there have been many others.
  7. I don't give a stuff about the Polish leagues. A rider is either fit to ride a speedway bike or he isn't, doesn't matter where the track is situated. If clubs choose to use Polish riders they would have to suffer the consequences of the Polish clubs dictating to their riders. Maybe promoters should spend a bit more on young Brits and eventually the "Polish" problem won't arise but I won't hold my breath.
  8. I've long advocated a squad system of sorts. EL teamed up with a PL team who in turn are teamed up with a NL team. Fix a points limit and teams can use any combination of riders from within those 3 teams as long as they are under the limit. More consistency for the fans, a natural route of progression for riders and no big retainers for little used members of squads. Of course it would need the asset system sorting out but that's easy - abolish it
  9. Poole being granted a facility at BV for Janowski is a farce, a blight on the sport and an abuse of a necessary rule. There must be a simple way to stp this. On the match thread I have suggested if an "injured" rider rides anywhere within 3 days all points scored by the facility be removed. Obviously if a rider has been out for a week or more and is coming back from a genuine injury discretion has to be used. One other suggestion - a facility at an away meeting is only granted up to the average the replaced rider has achieved at the track concerned . Neither suggestion is perfect but something has to be done before even more fans turn their backs on what was once a sport but is fast becoming a farce.
  10. Maybe it's time that the rules were changed so that if an"injured" rider rides anywhere within 3 days of a facility being granted, any points scored by that facility are removed. It wouldn't stop all the rule bending but it might stop some, especially in this case.
  11. If you count the number of ruts the riders hit instead of overtakes this is quite entertaining. There were 4 on the first lap of heat 10.
  12. Cos it isn't Nicki has scored lots of points !
  13. words fail me. Well they don't really but it's unfair to mock the afflicted
  14. Doesn't he ride in his own domestic league? Seems to me he gets more chances than some young Brits have been given Thankfully one of them is riding to the top in spite of it lol.
  15. My Saddlebow Road correspondent (aka daughter) tells me that Buster said the new engine would do 20 Meetings/races without needing anything doing to it. That being so it should reduce costs for the riders considerably. That being so expect an announcement from the powers that be in the next few months that it will not be sanctioned for use unless someone in the clique picks up the rights and the branding It was tested by Robert Lambert and Kelvin Tatum who was reported as being very impressed with it. EDITED to add Just seen on Tatum's twitter that it's a Gerhard GTR if that means anything to anyone.
  16. Enjoyed that. Was all that speedway should be and sadly isn't anymore. Tidy stadium Good racetrack Well promoted with big crowd Riders who got on with it without moaning A few crashes A bit of handbags Some decent races Can't remember the last meeting EL or Sky meeting I could say that about. Well done to the promoters and all involved let's hope their attitude is infectious amongst the bloody silly pratts association.
  17. Since when have the fans ever been considered?
  18. I love watching him race he gives it his all but maybe sometimes tries too hard which causes him to lose points. He just needs to calm down a tad and realise that two points in the bag is often better than risking them for three. His time will undoubtedly come.
  19. AFAIK Fricke is pronounced so that it rhymes with brick.
