not disagreeing with you but that certainly isn't all he said in good old Anglo Saxon

So you are advocating underhand tricks! There is a reason I'm not surprised.

An excellent point. I don't believe in changing results/declaring meetings void etc off the track. Whatever the rights or wrongs bikes went round the track so the result should stand. I do believe Coventry are right to ask for an enquiry into the event, 48 hours before the event (who and how did Go Speed attempt to contact, and the conduct of certain officials at and during the meeting. This should be done as a matter of urgency not just for Coventry but for the whole sport. Certain aspects have left a very nasty taste and have done Speedway no good at all. At the very least a call for an enquiry should focus all promoters minds towards avoiding such issues in the future.

In principle I agree but each case has to be judged on it's merits. On this occasion Kylmakorpi clearly felt it was unsafe telling the meeting steward wit some feeling "It's my f**king life", Harris apparently felt differently according to some. That is his choice but given the track conditions IMHO it was grossly unfair to fine Kylmakorpi. I also think the meeting steward should have been fined on 2 counts. Firstly for not allowing the track inspection that he had promised and secondly for telling Havelock he was being unfair to ask how he would feel if a rider was badly injured. Havelock as team manager has a perfect right to ask such questions. Whether Havelocks fine was justified is another matter, as I was not party to what went on in the pits regarding him not allowing riders to race heat 10 I can't comment.

That was prior to the start of heat 10. Track conditions changed during the meeting. Stop trying to rewrite history!

Agree with your first paragraph. Agree Poole should keep the ponts, cos I've never been in favour of points being decide off the track. As for 2, probably a good thing, let's leave TV alone, let the Go Speed agreement lapse and sort the sport out. -

I fully appreciate that GRW, I was merely curious and as I said asked politely, in fact I asked if I could ask a question before I did. He wasn't rude but brusque and didn't know the answer, fair enough. A guy with him did and kindly told me it was women in sport week. Still think Sky could and should publicise and even film the youngsters but doubt that's going to happen. As for special weeks for women,,,,,,,,,l Ggggrrrr political correctness gone mad. -

Why Sky were spending so much time and effort on a female American but never mention the British kids who ride 125cc etc. Pleased to hear it, just wasn't my experience. -
Guilty as charged, my only defence is I'm shattered after the trip back from Dorset today via Ikea, Milton Keynes so blame it on the Swedish Meatballs

Only got 3 words to say in answer to that statemen. CRAP UTTER CRAP -
The thing is Bjerre has always been the same - gate and he'll win races, miss the gate or get caught in traffic and he goes backwards. I've watched him over the years and nothings changed, if you don't believe me ask the Peterboro fans. Last night was appalling, no effort whatsoever when he missed the gate and as soon as he was near another rider (except Bomber) he eased off alarmingly quickly. Not my kind of rider, never has been, never will and I think a lot of Lynn fans have now had enough. When the chips are down you expect your riders to gird their loins, tighten their backside, put their heads down and fight. Bjerre quite simply is not capable of that IMHO. Ashley Morris might not have scored many points last night but he was reasonably on the pace and showed some fight and spirit. I'd rather watch 7 of him than one like Bjerre. There are only so many times you can make allowances for "coming back from injury".

Try telling Kylamkorpi that, he clearly thought it unsafe, didn't ride and got fined! Totally unfair!!!!

I wasn't impressed with his attitude last night. I asked him a reasonable question in a polite manner ( nothing about or concerning him personally ) and I found his reply rather brusque. He wasn't rude but he was abrupt. Never was his greatest fan and he certainly didn't go up in my estimation. -

I'm far from Pooles greatest fan!!! But last night I couldn't fault anything about either the Poole team or the organisation there. The fans, some much maligned on her lol, were very generous in their applause for Lynn and appreciative of thei efforts. The fans where we stood were friendly and chatty and didn't gloat at Lynn's drubbing. The burgers weren't great but compare OK with other tracks offerings. The track was dry and became a bit dusty by the end but I didn't see any big ruts, certainly no holes although there was only one passing line round the outside. The prog, centre presenter were excellent, if only Lynn's were half as good! The riders did victory laps, wheelies and acknowledged the crowd.....Lynn take note and copy. Despite the score I enjoyed it. The only negative was the so called skipper, someone get him a dinghy to skipper cos he's no good in a speedway team. -

Not read the comments yet so this is unbiased! Poole fans take a bow, never seen or heard a crowd applaud the away team in the way they did, also when Robert Lambert limped off to the changing room before heat 14 they burst into spontaneous applause. Smashing to see and hear. Now to the match, I thought we would be lucky to reach 40 and possibly we might have if Bjerre had a brain in his head. Words fail me, as far as I'm concerned we would be better sacking him and bringing in one of the Young Stars, at least they might show some fight instead of disappearing. It takes some special kind of rider to go from first to last in one bend and that's without ignoring Bomber who drew level on the inside and the outside, was he wearing blinkers? Still that got the biggest cheer of the night. The rest of the Stars tried but were simply outdated and out passed by a better team. The three guests battled valiantly and I applaud their efforts. Not much else to say really except does Ronnie Russell have his own version of sign language, cos watching him signal to the tractor driver was hilarious. Don't think he knew what he was doing and didn't look as if the driver took much notice. On subject of the track, it wasn't brilliant but I've seen much much worse. Yes lambert had already limped off to the changing room by then , as for Bjerre why he had done nothing all night except rob the team of two extra points. -

Somerset is scheduled for my August mini break. Love the racing there. -
Very unfair to denigrate Ms Turnbull for Monday, I didn't think she got any decision that she COULD make under the rules wrong. Monday was completely the fault of the meeting steward Paul Clarke who is the only official that can halt a Sky match and order a track inspection.

Certainly not because of decent racing I get that at P/Boro. I now do mini breaks around speedway meetings, so Dorset has had the pleasure of my company for 4 days. So Matt can tell Poole Tourism that speedway pulled in a few people lol. No way would I travel more than 40 miles simply for a speedway meeting in these days of 10 heat matches. -

Whereas I'm looking forward to seeing Bomber cos he's an out and out racer, Doolan is much preferable for me as I've never rated Porsing and although I'd much rather see Rory, Josh is another rider I like watching. There again I'm no longer a true Lynn fan. Just for Semion....3 miles from track sunny, warm a few white clouds and a bit of a breeze Matt Ford needs to up his advertising cos the waiter where we had lunch had never heard of Speedway but knew all about the motorbikes in Bournemouth at the weekend "they ride ever so close together " he gushed. So I attempted to educate him and gave him directions to the stadium...well told him it was behind Barclays ....now where do I go to claim my prize from Matt lol. -
There's no point anyone having a go at Christina Turnbull, it was a Sky match so she had no say in whether the meeting went ahead or not. That was down to the meeting steward, Paul Clarke who quite frankly should hang his head in shame and then do a Blatter.

A better way from a more astute team manager would have been for both Bees to go to start, one go thro tapes to be replaced by reserve, in restart another Bee goes thro tapes to be replaced by the other reserve. In the next restart a Bee goes thro tapes. Three tapes excs and replacements taking their full 2 minutes each, plus a bit extra I guess and the track would have been a river and impossible to ride in. Sense would prevail meeting abandoned before heat 10 could be concluded, if not the fourth Bees rider ploughs thro the tapes - point well and truly made and no riders put at risk of a fine! Yes it would be a bad advert for the sport but what exactly was last night.

What a farce. I could say many things but what riles me the most is the fact the riders were fined and too quote Kylamakorpi "it's my f**king LIFE" yet the meeting steward Peter Clarke aka Sky poodle promised to have a track inspection and didn't will walk away without one. Unless speedway somehow manages to get officials with some balls who make decisions without "fear or prejudice" speedway will continue on the road of Blatterism. RIP Speedway
