Thanks for the reply. So in effect foreign riders are subsidised, cos young Brits in the main don't get free board and lodgings -

Wasn't aware I was preaching merely voicing my opinion and asking questions. My comments are not aimed specifically at Peterboro but at ALL clubs, in both leagues. Too many of them seem to bring in foreigners to replace young Brits and IMHO that is counter productive. I don't see countries that are more successful that Britain employing very low average Brits and giving them the opportunity to progress in their countries and to me it's all wrong that British clubs employ mediocre (at best) foreigners and give them the experience to progress and then as a collective (BSPA) bemoan the fact that Britain doesn't win anything. -

Pity they can't "help" out a young British rider As a matter of interest does anyone know if promotions still have to pay board & lodgings/rent for foreigners? That along with air fares/mileage must make foreigners more expensive. Must be cheaper to use a Brit or do they price themselves out of the market? -

It's no good Woffy trying to help youngbBrits when clubs sign mediocre or worse foreigners . ALL clubs should have to track British riders at reserve. -

How dire was that. Anyone whose interest was sparked watching the SEC on Saturday would have tuned into this and thought it was a different sport.

Apologies if this has been asked before but the dates for the Play Off Semis and Final seem to be a well kept secret. Does anyone know when they are scheduled please. Trying to book a holiday and don't want a family war if I book it to clash with the play offs.

Not sure I'd blame the referee. In my view it was down to the Lynn team (or lack of it). 6 other team members in the pits, various mechanics and hangers on and a team manager and NOT ONE of them noticed the absence of a dirt deflector Indicative of the lack of team spirit maybe, were they all simply doing their own thing. Can't seeing it happening had Rory been there, he seems to be everywhere in the pits. -
I do get somewhat annoyed at folk having a pop at Ashley Morris. When signed everyone said he wouldn't score many points and he hasn't, fair enough. Maybe if some of the money spent on the air fares for the other two were spent on Morris's equipment etc he might score more points. As for the other two, it's all been said by others. It's pretty well known that I don't go to Lynn much but I was looking forward to the visit of Poole. Well no way am I going if Bjerre and Porsing are still there. I'll carry on with my Peterboro visits with the bonus of watching the 125cc again. Now those lads show what effort and commitment are..

I perceive it as maybe they are skint after forking out to watch speedway live. You can't prove which of us is correct so it confirms nothing -
The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

As it is at all meetings as I understand it. Therefore it follows referees either don't deem any rider, guilty of riding that is that dangerous or they are not giving the other riders the protection they want. Whichever, neither gives any rider the right to physically attack another, especially when that rider is still on his bike. Please note I'm trying to keep personalities out of this -
Hope you manage it Sue. From my family's experience, admittedly a few years ago, the Millenium Stadium staff look after wheelchair users and their carers superbly.

So do we assume from that that no referee thought Nicki's riding bad enough to throw him out of the meeting? or Do they not want him thrown out cos he's box office? Just asking. -

Maybe they should join the Speedway Riders Assoc or even form their own association and make representations to the authorities of the various leagues and the GPs. Surely that's the adult way to do it? Whilst I agree with your last sentence, very few on this thread have made the very small effort required to sent best wishes etc for his recovery. -

Off topic but it's a sad reflection of this forum, and possibly the sport as a whole that this thread has 337 posts and the thread about Ben Barker who has 3 broken vertebrae has only 25
