  1. I would back any six of my riders at home against anyone. Look at our results. or are they too painful for you? Malcolm Vasey
  2. Well thank you for your concern but let me tell you that we have the best team spirit in our pits that I have ever come across and in this League you do expect to lose riders at the end of a season because they will progress to the Premier League. Stoke may move back to the PL but that is not my decision and as far as I am aware nothing has been decided. I also have the best Captain I have ever come across in this or any other League and I really think we have a good chance in all competitions especially having knocked the favorites out of the KO Cup by a comprehensive margin. But I though that from the day we finished putting the team together. We are confident and hungry for success. I think the problems at Stoke are behind us now and I wont bore you with how they arose but believe me those problems were not of our making. Come and have a chat if you are at any match we are in home or away, always pleased to talk to thinking supporters. Malcolm Vasey
  3. Do you think we got them by accident then? Dream on Malcolm Vasey
  4. Well you'll just have to wonder wont you? Malcolm Vasey
  5. We don't do too bad on track though do we? Actually it was no mess at all but the repercussions following having the stadium vandalised by thieves and more stringent requirements to obtain safety certificates. Malcolm Vasey
  6. I would also like to pay tribute to the Heathen's fans. When we paraded the National League Pairs Trophy prior to the paramedic situation I was impressed by the applause meted out by the Dudley fans as well as our own supporters. It is not often that you see such sporting conduct and it left me well impressed. Tomorrow is another day and my team will start as if the aggregate score is 0-0 because I know the Heathen's riders will be anxious to avenge yesterday's result. Like ourselves they are a very good team and I instilled into my riders before yesterday's match that we really had to tear into them from the outset. Needless to say tomorrow's team talk will be very similar. However, after odds and ends that I have read here about the Heathen's fans I thought it only fair and that I should redress the balance because I thought you were terrific yesterday. Thank you very much for that Malcolm Vasey
  7. It is good that we have fans in speedway that really support their team. The Duldey fans do exactly that and we need more like them. A fair turn out of Stoke supporters last night pity there were not more but it was great that we had a couple of dozen all told and I loved to see our supporters sharing a proud moment with the riders after the Presentation. Next Sunday 3.00pm at Stoke and 48 hours later at Monmore Green the Potters lock horns with the Heathens and I think we will see some blistering hot speedway for the right to be in the Knockout Cup Final. Anyone en route North next Sunday from the Grand Prix would not want to miss this one either. Finally I'd like to thank Simon Lambert and Tim Webster for their magnificent effort last night despite Tim hurting his knee and sustaining damage to his bike which was righted 20 seconds before the two minutes ended for the re-start. It was good to help Stoke to win something but be warned National League this is just the start. Malcolm Vasey
  8. Someone else who cant conduct a discussion without a nasty comment. What the hell has my ego got to do with it. I am a true Brit you clearly dont care about our lads. That has little to do with egos. I enjoyed the last few weeks of Norwich City's season and I expect you did too. Ego or no ego. Malcolm Vasey
  9. IF you have Stoke affilliations then a special warning, beware of ageing hippies with pony tails and don't hang on to their every word Amongst many gems, as a sport from last year we are all still waiting the masses of English youngsters who are frozen out and cannot get a place in NL sides. Well we got rid of all the foreigners who were here last season and I dont see any empty teams so if they were here a lot of Brits would be without a job. There have been Brits out of work this season too and judging by the success of the Under 15 events this season plenty more to follow. As usual Kev I was proven right. Logic has failed you as you rushed to make a snide remark Malcolm Vase
  10. I have resisted entering this argument my views being already well known and I remain very patriotic. At the start of the season all NL teams were built on the premise of no foreign riders. I am at a loss to see how that can now be changed without giving an advantage to team(s) who enlist such a rider. If this young man has a British Passport he is ok. If he hasn't, at least until he is 17, he is not ok to race here. The fines for going outside the law are very heavy and I believe would ultimately be the responsibility of the BSPA. So I am sure that they will make the correct decision given all of the evidence which none of us here have access to. Having said that a British Passport would seem to be what is required. The last thing we need is a repeat of the Tyson Nelson fiasco last season when He was allowed to ride at Scunthorpe for Rye House and then his points were later docked. I await the outcome with interest and more than a little sympathy for Nick Laurence Malcolm Vasey
  11. What awful news this is Darren has suffered many injuries and I am gutted for him whilst Lewis is is a newcomer who could have done without this delay in his career. I wish both of them all the very best in their recovery Malcolm Vasey
  12. A very interesting and inventive methodology for the use of Joe Haines. The average used (As in the case of (Adam Roynon)would be his final Conference League average of 2008 which would be in the region 11.00. Cant see that fitting Malcolm Vasey
  13. I once ordered the Manager with fried rice when I got confused by a Chinese Restaraunt menu. Seriously, I think the updates service is an excellent feature that we can all enjoy and I would like to thank all those who have a hand in ot expecially Sue of course. It is fantastic to have omgoing scores and also an easy reference for Team Managers to look at previous fixtures etc. My very grateful thanks to all of you. Malcolm Vasey
  14. That's a bit snide Norman whilst I am scraping egg fom my face. I rarely even eat egg it nauseates me unless I cook it myself, my way. In fact I spoke to another person associated with this tour and he too was uder the same impression as me. But I hold my hands up and will set off for Stoke's Press and Practice on Wednesday fervently hoping that my apparent catstrophic fixture planning does not overspill into my navigation and come tapes up I am in Buenos Aires or somewhere! Apologies one and all and watch this space. We are racing against Lea Bridge on 12th of Never I can assure you all. Malcolm Vasey
  15. Hi Steve

Sorry about our confusion I have fixed a Cahllenge against Scunthorpe for the 16th. I will mention the possibility of 10th To Dave now. I will let you know

    Malcolm

  16. There has been some confusion and in fact we have a Challenge againt Scunthorpe Saints that night which will sharpen us up for the following day at Newport when we begin our League campaign. Malcolm Vasey
  17. Parsloes there will be a Dream Team at Stoke that evening with great riders I can assure you. I think that is the only fixture clash but I could be wrong Lawrence Rogers has explained everything to me. Malcolm Vasey
  18. The confusion here is because there are two American teams the Dream Team and the Under 21's. The Dream Team tour was planned some time ago I believe the Under 21's are en route to the Ukraine but I am not sure about that. It is the Dream Team at Stoke on 16th April. Malcolm Vasey
  19. There are seven books in the series including the A-Z which you mentioned. They are PT 1 1994-2000 PT 2 2001-2005 PT 3 2006 PT 4 2007 PT 5 2008 PT 6 2009 COMPLETE A-Z ALL RIDERS AVERAGES FOR TEAMS RODE FOR YEAR BY YEAR PART 6 AND OTHERS ARE IN PRODUCTION CURRENTLY AND WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS I normally advertise them in the Items for Sale but as you asked the question here I have replied here. I hoe thats OK. Copies of any of the above are available but only direct from me (07768 073284) Malcolm Vasey
  20. The Stoke Potters Press Day takes place on 23rd March from midday and of course we welcome supporters and friends of the Club to join us for this event. This will include a competition between riders who would like to claim the final Potters' racejacket for 2011, This would allow a rider with an average of less than 3.14 which effectively means a 3.00 as there are no riders on the current list between 3.00 and 3.14. Already I have agreed with three riders to come and paricipate and I would be interested to hear from one or two more who would like to take part. This is not an open event in the sense that partcipation has to be arranged in advance with myself or the Stoke Promoter Dave Tatum. Anyone interested is invited to contact me to discuss this matter on 07768 073 284. The event is planned for 3.30 pm on the day. The deadline for applying is Sunday 19th March so that we can devise a format for the elimination series which will take place under normal race conditions. Malcolm Vasey Team Manager Stoke Potters
  21. Really? Well why dont thay stop talking and do something about fuel prices and the bankers who caused the problem you mention. As far as speedway is concerned the present cost of fuel could be our final ruination so those responsible should have their particular shortcomings brought home to them. Politics is life, it affects everything and I am not keeping quiet for this lot of dunces or the last lot. We all deserve very much better than we are getting. That means now and for many years past. Malcolm Vasey
  22. Brilliant. And the rest of Parliament on the governement benches are the dullards who are backing them in the ConDem Coalition who like lemmimgs at the cliff's edge have ensured that the Liberals will not see power for three or four generations becuase of their crass lies and equally dumb participation in this dreadful governement. When will some of the extra VAT etc raised by the increase in oil prices come back to us? Osborne is trousering the lot and saying he may leave the extra penny off in April. That's big of him. Malcolm Vasey
  23. Never was a truer word spoken and surely a rule must come into force limiting legal fees for this cash trousering profession, to a sum not exceeding the amount of the settlement awarded. Then no frivelous cases would be taken on by them. The whole legal profession with its procrastination and air of mystery needs to be regulated far better than it is because I see no evedence of regulation merely a fee collection organistion that gets worse as time goes by. I put them close to the bankers in terms of greed and I am not speaking about any individuual case its the whole system. Malcolm Vasey
  24. In fact Joe finished with an avarage of 6.53 which would equate to 6.37 and is therefore not eligible to ride in the National League. I think Joe will get a team place very quickly once teams start to make changes for whatever reason. He is far too good and still developing and should not be sidelined for too long. Malcolm Vasey
  25. I understand that was increased to 5.00 at the NL AGM Malcolm Vasey
