We had that many many years ago until one greedy overated Dane by the name of Jens Rassmussen decide to challenge the rule that only brits & aussies were allowed to ride in the 2nd tier of British Speedway. He took the rule to the european employment rights commision and the rest is history. We have been in slow decline ever since, plus there is easy money and more meeting in league 2 nowadays. We have had a number of good riders over the years who have not moved up due to the money they were making and the lifestyle it brought them. If I ran the league I would insist on 3 brits per team with no exceptions but no doubt some non brit would challenge the rule and win again. As you see I have no time for Rassmussen who having been team rode round by Hans Nielsen for a number of years realised he was not good enough on his own and wanted the easier opponent of league 2. He as much as anyone damaged British speedway

Ben Barker, Ben Barker ..... the only person who thinks Ben Barker should be in is Ben Barker, & thats because he has an over inflated opinion of himself and his riding ability. This is only surpassed by Lewis Bridger who is of simular vain. Harris could match race them both 10 times and beat them 8 times out of 10 and get EF in the other 2 If Barker ever becomes half the rider HE thinks he is he will be lucky Something tells me Wuffy will take a place if offered & god luck to him

And thats wrong is it, to be nice to a nice guy, he could be arrogant, full of self pity and moaning about it, but no Bomber just gets on with it and TRYS his guts out for the cause, be it himself, his country or his club. yeah we loved Henry Cooper, Eddie The Eagle etc because the one thing you could not say was that were not giving there all. Remember Cooper would have beaten Clay but for his corner cutting his glove to buy him more time to recover. Give me the diminutive Harris over many in this sport anyday of the week.

Tai can gate consistantly which makes a difference at GP level. With the right team behind him Wuffy is well capable of a top 8 finish looking at the current field

Love some people on this forum, just sitting there waiting for Hariis to fail so they can rejoice in his failure. It was the same with Scott Nicholls not so long ago, its what puts the great in Great Britain. Personally I hope Tai does not get given a place as you lot would be onto him next. Makes ya sick
