  1. High praise for the boy Lanham............is Aljack mellowing with age?
  2. No need to worry, Kevin (smashing bloke that he is) is not going to find form just like that, best guest booking for the witches in ages
  3. Wondered that also, we were cornered and they let us slip that in! Wonder if Jerky has got much to say about Leigh in that heat 15.......super effort from the boy.
  4. Klindt broke the Foxhall mark last night.......missed 3 corners in the process........could of lowered it even further
  5. Masters could have and probably should have been in from the start of the season!
  6. Risager.....Captain? They really should tighten drugs testing within the sport, make it all inclusive, starting with promoters and team management alike. Lets plan for the future......Rohan Tungate for Captain! Lets make it clear to all concerned that the boy is the future of the club and make sure we keep him here for the next 10 years. I had high hopes for Morten, but the two injuries appear to have knocked his confidence to the degree that he just rolls in to the bends when behind, he looks frightened of the shadows let alone opposing riders. While soap box is out, Doolan had to go after Saturday, he really was super slow and observing his practice starts.....they looked and were rubbish, no forward momentum whatsoever. Bike set-up was way out and he sat on the bike like a sack of spuds. Just to finish on a positive note, Camo is going to be a very good rider indeed, North also will be good, although sometimes he appears to try just a little too hard (could do with better kit really) Tress value, fast and a nice lad. Lanham will be better away from No.1, was superb at Sheffield showing thats hes still got it. Good luck to Taylor, he needs time to get back into it and is class.........Over and out! Soap box away!
  7. A team with a number one.......sounds like a plan!
  8. Tungate was very good at Showground last night, deserved more points than he scored, will be very good on big away tracks in the Premier, worried the crap out of Bach! Camo got closer all night, best of all, both came thro' unscathed......happy days
  9. Agree with both Snacky and Badge.......KD, TP, MT, MR, DK, RT, CH seems like the best order until the first change. Roll on Thursday, not been as exicited about the start of the season for years!!!
  10. Thanks Snacky.....as I've said before you are the boy. Merci!
  11. Season ticket delivery this week? Also this returns us to the top......happy days!
  12. Just a return to the top post really. Need to get familiar with this position. PS. Good to see that we are going to have AJL racing again, thats not the whole answer, but still a positive step. As Michael Lee says its a bridge between practice and the national league. Good for all, look forward to some second halves.
  13. Tungate and Heeps are at Peterborough.......Monday 19th March with Flying Ryan and Super Nicki.
  14. I might just stand back and let 'Snacky' deal with the grammar and spelling on this one!!!!
  15. Good Morning all Witches Fans..............the following was supplied to me by Barbara, many thanks to her! Its the best we could manage for the above Polish article. Speedway in French Language – story of Mathieu Tresarrieu’s career and his plans for the future. Some people in Poland can’t imagine life without speedway but there are countries where this sport is not so popular yet. One of these countries is France where speedway isn’t as relevant as our country, sports on the pitch or Longtrack are much more popular. Even these are not watched by a live crowd as much as in Poland. Because of this the media does not cover events in France and therefore talented French speed racers are not known about in the wider world. For example the French racers don’t have the opportunity to play for the Polish league. So I asked Mathieu Tresarrieu about his career, plans for the future and difficulties racers meet in countries like France, Italy or Argentina (where Speedway is becoming more popular because of media interest in future planned events and scandals in the sport but we’ll talk about that later). Alex: Tell me how your adventure into Speedway started with the sport not being popular in France? Mathieu: My interest started from my two older brothers who used to compete in grass track racing from a very early age. So this discipline is not strange to me but my first steps into speedway started in Marmande where I trained. When I first saw speedway in the Grand Prix I decided that is the sport for me. Exciting! Philipe Berge tried his strength in England, riding in the Isle of Wight and Peterborough. I think he was riding for a team from Rybnik if I remember correctly. After my brother Sebastian also tried his strength in the Isle of Wight and from that moment the doors started to open to Speedway for me. Then I had more opportunities to go and watch the racing on my summer holidays or time off. When I became 18 with my diplomas and passport in my pocket I decided to go to England to ride firstly in Reading in the Premier League and after that I tried my strength in Swindon riding in the Elite League. After I raced in Redcar for two years until I broke my leg competing in the Euro Championship Speedway on grass. I couldn’t ride for 1.5 years!! I came back properly to Peterborough in 2010 after one and a half year break, it was very hard to start from the same level but it was a good opportunity to start fighting again and that was the most important thing to me. In the last year I represented Leicester and then Ipswich but still I am looking for new places to be the best. Season 2011 was much better than 2010 after my injury time so I am thinking positive. Alex: From your time with Speedway has your life changed dramatically? Matthieu: No, to be honest is hasn’t changed at all because I’ve been riding from a young age so I’ve got used to this life. In my private life nothing has changed either, I can blend the two together perfectly. Alex: What, for you is the best advantage of being a Speedracer? Matthieu: Definitely just that I get to do what I love. Nothing is better than doing a job that gives you pleasure. Alex: In France, Speedway isn’t so popular, is it hard to engage your people? Matthieu: That’s true, Speedway isn’t so popular which is a pity. There are people that are interested. Also Promoters from grass races try to introduce Speedway to their audience. We have three places to ride, Lamothe-Landerron, Macon and Marmande. Maybe soon we will be able to promote the sport better so it can become more popular. Unfortunately grass sports like football take over at the moment especially in the South of France. Alex: So maybe that’s why it’s harder for sportsmen from France, Italy or Argentina to break into Polish clubs? Matthieu: Yes it is hard, especially for the Speedway racers in France. They don’t have the contacts in Poland to be noticed. It’s much easier to start a career in England and once you’re good enough Poland might notice you and then possibly you could be offered a contract but you have to be really successful in England to be noticed. Anyway I have enough people around me who will hopefully try to promote me in Poland. (With optimism). Alex: Do you have a favourite place? Your favourite tour, where you feel the best? Matthieu: To be honest I don’t have a favourite but I don’t like riding in Newcastle or Edinburgh. Alex: Do you follow the Grand Prix? Matthieu: Of course! That’s the biggest event, lots of good riding!
  16. Mate, do you know if its the same wrist he injured last year?
  17. Got to think they are going to do just fine............and sorry to disagree but this winter has just flown past, perhaps it's the mild weather?
  18. Would love to see a fight at the top.....going all the way to Torun. Jarek and AJ for me, with Emil giving them a race. Then can see the old boys along next....Jase, Tommy and Greg........Lindgren and Holder to complete the top 8.
  19. Just keeping us on top...............getting ready for things to come!!!
  20. Not too worried about pressure on Tungate, he's not a kid, but he is the 'real deal' .
  21. From what I've seen so far, Heeps could easily finish 5+........might even go as much as 6!
  22. Nice work....lets just keep this near the top so we all get familiar with the feeling!!
  23. Vissing is not a newcomer......and even if he was, are you sure? And sorry to say...really can't see Tom Perry setting the world alight........now Camo on the other hand......let's just wait and see. And for those of you who have not seen Tungate........the boy is going to be sensational.
  24. PL: Ipswich Cup: Newport/Somerset Fours: Ipswich Pairs: Plymouth Top average: Alden Best newcomer: Tungate Biggest improver: Heeps Wooden spoon: Sheffield
  25. Well, I live and learn something everyday, did that change when it went from 13 to 15 heats?
