Ipswich V Scunthorpe 18/7
Roland replied to mickthemuppet's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
On any other night........it would have to be either Cook or Doyle.........Robbo probably next best option? This is going to be a tight one, if we get all the points, it will be a good nights work. -
Edinburgh V Ipswich (lc - Sf) 5/6/13 @ 7.30pm
Roland replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Lets hope Bens knee gets better very quickly. Is it the same one he hurt at best pairs on the grass bank behind the pits? He has said its 'just' ligament problems, speaking from personal experience with one completely wrecked knee, he needs to sort properly. If this is on-going needs top help because he's only young and is going to need strong knees to progress his career. Over and out!! -

Fair and honest comments, as you correctly say, if Camo was @ 7 things might have been different? -

It fell off, round the last lap made loads more noise, he was subsequently excluded, so just as well the other boy jumped back on and sportingly finished the race. Camo certainly lead the charge in this one and in fairness looked quicker than Barker all night, good effort by all. Track was shocking, a disgrace, the Rohan/Dyer crash looked horrible and was a direct result of poor track preparation, Rohan spinning like a bastard off bend 2, then it just gripped, good night Vienna, over and out! Just looked back in this thread and have seen that "Boz" stated that Camo should have been excluded in heat 15? The referee ( a SGP one at that) obviously didn't think so, race wasn't stopped and the lad carried on. A lady (I'll use the word out of politeness, she was female) in the crowd near me shouted out at Heeps as he departed the track......"you're a ****** ******". That is not required thank you......he's a teenage boy 10 thousand miles from home making his way in the world, have you ever done anything with your life? Again over and out!! -

Could we be in for a shower at teatime? Wouldn't be the first time, over and out. -

It will be interesting to see how the assessed 3 pointers match up against each other, having said that I think we all know the answer? -
Ipswich V Rye House (premier League) 20th June
Roland replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Met Office radar prediction for rain shows a heavy shower around lunchtime. in fairness this site has been fairly accurate recently, so things (touch wood) are looking better than earlier in the week. Did Phil Morris actually come out with it and call Ben Barker.....mental on the TV last night? Mental or not that boy, although he's never going to be World Champion is box office. If he continues to impress as he has done over the last couple of weeks, might even find himself in my all time Witches 1-7, and that's some achievement as I've not changed it for years. -

Think rain might be the only winner here.....................otherwise could be a 20+ home win? Over and out! -
Adam Roynon Looking For Team Spot
Roland replied to phillipsr's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Difficult as I find it agreeing with this..............you're spot on this time fella. OK, Adam is not going to be back up to speed just yet, but will get there, surely given a spell with no injuries. Lanham was hopeless last night and even worse last Friday. We could have been in the final.....but he kept coming in last. Over and out!! -
Ipswich Vs Newcastle Thursday 6th June 7.30pm
Roland replied to CardinalSin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
""Robbo is the last rider I would ever believe to be a "roller" and I believe he was genuinely watching for movement on the edge of the tapes."" Its easy to spot, look for the back wheel revolving. Lets hope the ref tonight keeps an eye on it! Witches to take all 3 points, but not if more than one rider has an off night? Over and out. -

Perhaps Morten can......he's the form kiddy!!! That would shut Aljerky up.....or whatever he calls himself these days. R/R might make them a bit weaker, should be taking all three points here. -

I had never been a big Ben Barker fan.......but have seen a different side to him. Last night he was value and last Monday in Heat 10 he was brilliant. That was probably the best race I have seen for a while.......and I was in Bydgoszcz! -

Roland replied to wandersome's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
After the first 5 or 6 heats the Leicester fans were giving it large in Barkers direction with the "who are you" rubbish. Well they certainly found out at the end. He was in a different class. Morten was never troubled after being passed in his first ride. Heeps and Ellis were both very good and played their part, and some, even after the 5-0 in heat 2 which was directly caused by the "berm" on 1 going into 2. Ritchie was on the pace, as was Rohan, but didn't get perhaps what he deserved. Leigh, I'm sorry to say was slow. It may be stating the obvious, but with a better start to the meeting could have easily taken 4 points. Away wins must surely be on the agenda, this is a good team that is only going to get better during the season.......over and out! -

Saw the condition of helmet, glad my head wasn't in it. Hope the boy suffers no ill effects from that and he has a safe trip back from Italy. Tell him not to forget his gating gloves, will need them on Sunday as well as Saturday night. -
Weather update:- Shower looks as if its going to miss teatime..........rain @ 10pm or just after. Thats the weather sorted.......scoreline 50-40? Risager to score double figures? Possibly in total over the two meetings? That boy has really got to up his game over the next couple of months to challenge for the number 1 race jacket!
-
If it is Cook in for Lawson............thats going to tighten things up a tad. On the weather front......(bearing in mind I was only 35mins out with my prediction at last weeks rain-off) we had better get things moving along tonight as rain is on its way from 9pm onwards. Hoping for at least a 10 point margin to take up north. Over and out!

The start of the season for real......need to take all points at home and sneak something away. Come September might well be looking back at this meeting and saying 'what if', so lets have no slip-ups. Would have been at EWR but off to another little skid in Polska to see the Ipswich riders clean up! 1-2-3.....Hampel, Tommy and Ward....no brainer....over and out!
-
I'll admit it........I was way off the mark! Excellent effort, just a couple of comments really, well seven! 1. Think Barker is in a hole......GM in one bike JRM in another, when thats sorted, he'll be OK, you dont become that slow for no reason. 2. Jari, sorry but its not getting any better, very slow. 3. Tungate, super balance and throttle control, just getting better and better 4. Risager, showed signs of improvement, long may it continue. 5. Leigh, good, slightly off the pace, will be OK when he moves to 3 6. Ellis, sensational and so so fast, said it before with time will lose grasstrack anomalies. 7. Heeps, superb, hes altogether a different rider this year. Sorry to go on.....over and out!!

Rye House V Ipswich 1/4/13 2pm
Roland replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just a few points.......Jasons air vest didn't inflate, he didnt part company with his bike. A great pity because it appears that his injuries are the type the jacket would have helped not happen. Makinens jacket did go off but seems to have an arm injury. Carrington was probably not watching the meeting at all because I feel that red light should have come on regardless of a rider trying to get up, because as soon as kick boards are displaced safety must prevail. This cost us big time. How heat 14 was not declared a 1-5 I'll never know, again I dont think the ref was paying attention as he should have had lights on sooner, i dont think they did come on, this would suggest why the heat score was incorrect. Lets hope all three injured riders will soon be on the mend. For Makinen, its exactly what he didnt want, as another post has intimated R/R would make us stonger, if Rohan got another ride. On a final note, Adam Ellis is going to be very good indeed. Dont think he'd been to Dry House before. His riding and reason he fell is a typical grasstrack rider error, in my humble opinion needs to look at his gearing, he was way over geared, possibly two teeth at the start. The times I've seen him previously he has always been better when his engine is revving. Hopefully this can be achieved without his engine dropping its guts on the floor. Over and out.! -

Is Makinens air vest permanently inflated.....or does he need to lose two stone?
