  1. Why are we waiting, Why are we waiting OH why are we waiting
  2. I think that Wells has far more potential and lower average than Harrison. Not disappointed I just thought he was going to Workington.
  3. To be fair to you there are quite a few points that you make that, but the problem is that you only seem to come on here when you seek the opportunity to be negative and it seems to be a bit of a mission for you. But there are some good points that you make. I think that everybody knows that Jake Knight does represent a gamble and I would maybe label him as a bit suspect, but lets see how he goes. Koppe I think will be better than what people think, I have followed his career closely since the Darren and Sharon Boocock Academy over in Aussie and he has rode well against those riders, and I don't think he ancient at 24, not as young as most of the Aussies that come I will accept, but still young enough. The one that really concerns me is the alleged signing of the Argentinian, which is for me a massive gamble and I would have preferred the promotion to have gone for some one else. If that is the team with two signings to go it leaves us with 14.88 left for the last two riders, there are some quality riders out there that we could bring in that could do a job at 2nd and 3rd heatleader. But I certainly hope that one of those is not Richard Hall under any circumstances and it has to be riders that are capable of scoring decent points home and away.
  4. Okay think we will be going around in circles with this one. Lets agree to disagree.
  5. Okay fair enough I was a bit harsh, but if you make statements like; And how ever you try and interpret the statement, Joe Haines will not be the only rider returning from last year....WE ARE GOING TO GET HALL! Then to me that means that you are suggesting that you know something that the rest of us don't know. That is not an opinion that telling people you know something for a fact. End of the day I don't who those three signings are going to be and I suspect neither do you.
  6. Well you could never say that Nepotism rules in our household.
  7. Never known a thread move so quick down to one signing. Okay not the 3 point rider that I would have gone for myself, would have been Nielsen or Jacobs for me. But there was a clue last season that this could happen, and towards the end of last season both myself, Squall and SKJ all said that Jake could well be in the side for this season, so in a way I am not surprised to see him given a chance, and that what we have to do is give the lad a chance. Nice to see the usual suspects coming out as soon as there is a signing that appears to be a bit suspect. Friddy 75 who know every signing that the Promotion is going to make, seems to have all the inside knowledge on who is going to sign and who is not going to sign for Sheffield, maybe they can introduce me to who they get their information from. Maybe Friddy is right but I am prepared to wait and see who the next three signings are and then I will make some sort of judgement on the team and how it will progress. .
  8. Welcome to Sheffield Mr Jake Knight. ; Interestingly it says on the Website that Jake joins new signings Simon Stead, Damien Koppe and the only surviving rider from the 2012 Sheffield team Joe Haines. Could this mean that the next three signings are new to the Sheffield team. The plot thickens.
  9. I suppose Sheffield will be favourites to have signed him as he did do some meetings at number 8 for Sheffield.
  10. I would add that will excite the fans as well. There is still riders out there, and plenty to go at, will be interesting to see who they bring in, of last seasons team I think we may see one from last season but I suspect that it will be virtually a new team
  11. I think we should Wait and see what the Promotion come up with.,
  12. I think collectively you won't see much put on their averages. Steady will probably average around his figure. I think Joe could make a slight improvement. Cannot see Damien Koppe maintaining that figure. Two ways that they can go is making a team that will allow Koppe to start at reserve, but that would give us a weaker heatleaders or go for Sticking a 3 point rider and a strong reserve near a 5 point average that could eventually allow Koppe to drop to reserve and have a stronger heatleaders. I think that I would favour the latter.
  13. Similarities to when Sean Wilson came back to the club, and a lot fans at Sheffield seem to think the same way reading the Sheffield Facebook pages. What the Promotion need to do is to get a group of young hungry riders to build a side around him like they did when Sean was at the club. Back then they were British lads, would love them to be all British lads, but not really bothered where they come from as long as they want to ride for Sheffield speedway club. And like it has already been said cannot be any worse than the team that we had last season.
  14. Did we adequately replace Ricky last season is more the point, one of the reasons we fail so much last season was the lack of a number who could win races in heat 13 and 15 something that Ricky would have done. The one thing I would agree with is that Ricky was treated poorly, the club left it so late when releasing him he was left with very little choice on which club to join, and I think it has backfired on them. But I think that its a move that has done the lad the world of good, and I can fully understand he reasons for wanting to stay with Berwick..
  15. I don't think it is a case that people don't want Ricky Ashworth its more that Ricky has clearly stated that he wants to be at Berwick next season, see the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR93_kvfIMc I would rather see riders that actually want to ride for the club, and at the moment Ricky wants to be with Berwick so if that what we wants then lets let the guy have want he wants. In Simon Stead Sheffield have adequately replace or found a better replacement for Ricky. It says in the Speedway Star that he has turned more money at other clubs to come to Sheffield so I think that answers the question whether he wants to be at so Simon Stead the rider wants to be at the club. Simon Stead the man, I don't know whether you were around the last time he was at the club, but one thing that he does do well is connect with the fans both young and old, and understands the value of the supporters. But don't just take my word for it ask the fans of Swindon what they think of Simon Stead. Lets not forget that Simon was up and until recently part of the Team GB World Cup Squad, he has had rode in British GB as a Wild card on more than one occasion, he can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to club that will prove invaluable.
  16. What about (1) Simon Stead (2) Damien Koppe (3) Claus Vissing (4) Joe Haines (5) Josh Grajczonek (6) Micky Dyer (7) Stefan Nielsen
  17. I don't think you see Richard Hall or Emiliano Sanchez at Sheffield next season, and my gut feeling is that we might not see Ricky Wells either.
  18. I think that he could well be there or there abouts. People will say he had a poor season last season, but I tend to look how riders finish, and he finished very well, beating Holder at Poole, and he was one of the main reasons why Swindon won the Play Off Final.
  19. Simon comes in on an average of 9.59, which quite a bit but if the promotion are clever we can get a team to take on all comers and put in title challenge. I think what we have to do is either get a strong reserve that could take the pressure of Koppe by eventually take over the 2nd string position or get Koppe in at reserve. There are still plenty of riders out there, I notice that Ipswich have released both Poole and North, they could be options to look at. I stiil think that Grajczonek and Wells would be excellent as 2nd and 3rd heatleaders. And I still cannot believe the guy who won the British Under 19 title at Sheffield last season is still available, would be a dream come true if we could get Stefan Nielsen in. The main thing for me is that we get a build a young hungry team around Simon Stead.
