If I was putting the team together I would have gone with either. Wells/ Vissing or Wells/ North But looks like the Promotion are working to a tight budget, and trying to ensure that the team is as strong at home as it possibly can be and that is why they chosen to go with Richard Hall.

Has to be Squall for Team Manager.
-
I think Garry has said in the past that he does not want a Team Managers role and has now got a business manufacturing speedway clothing so maybe he would be off the radar. But would agree that if he was interested would be an excellent choice.
-
The last time I saw Terry he was driving buses. There is a Team Manager stood on the terraces every Thursday who I think would do a good job. Jack Lee.

Thank you for making this public knowledge, and maybe the Promotion should make it more public knowledge rather than sending out mixed messages, not everyone can or attend the STAARS nights. The reasoning for using Richard Hall is fine if the objective is to win all the home meetings then I think that they have ensure that Richard Hall rides at number 5 at home not at number 4. Lets have a Team Manager that thinks tactically.

Very tasty side put together by the Rebels Management, for me the strongest 1 to 7 put together so far for the coming season. I might even have a few quid on them. -
Its posts like these that really frustrate me. Why should fans just simply accept and not make comments about their team. I never missed a meeting at home last season, and frankly it was bloody hard work and demoralizing, there was a few bright points Joe Haines slowly getting back to some sort of form and getting his career back on track, but other than sitting on one Friday night looking at the live updates from Plymouth to see if we are going to finish bottom of the league. When the dust had settled the Promotion admitted themselves that the team had been poor and promised us action with a team that would be challenging and two out of those first three signing gave most of us cause for optimism with the signing of Joe Haines and Simon Stead. But then you look at the rest of the team and we have brought in 3 riders on assessed averages, okay thy maybe riders who have potential, but at this particular moment what the club needed and its not fair on the those riders as well.as we are now expecting them to achieve those assessed averages and they will be under pressure from the word go. The next two signing are said to be Ricky Wells and Richard Hall, Ricky Wells I prepared to admit deserves a chance to come back to the club, because I think that he could do well next season, but Christ-sakes Richard Hall. In 2010, we told that the club had re-signed Richard Hall, but he needed to improve on his away form, result Richard Hall was god at home poor away from home. In 2012 Richard Hall returns to the club, we are told that Richard is been made captain and the Promotion feel that it will be the making of him, result Richard averages 8.35 at home meetings 5.08 away meetings. For the 2013 season Sheffield announce that they are in talks with Richard and he has been told to improve his away form, and Richard is determined and has bought new equipment, starting to feel a bit like Deja-vu How many more chances are the club going to give Richard Hall before they wake up and smell the coffee and realise that he has his limitations Of the team proposed I would have signed. Simon Stead Joe Haines Ricky Wells Then one of or at the most two from Damien Koppe Facu Albin Jake Knight We are now faced going into a season with three very inexperienced riders, one who will have to ride in the main body of the team, and a second heatleader who is nothing more than of 2nd string standard away from home. But at the end if the day I will be there every Thursday by the benches with Squall and SKJ, cheering on these riders because they pull on the Sheffield race jacket and like every other speedway fan I want my team to win, like many of the others who have passed comment on the team. The one thing that is needed to bring back the crowds is a team that will hit the ground running and win meetings not only at home but odd meeting away from home, but I just don't see that happening next season, and although I do think it could be a better team than last season its not going to get anywhere near challenging for honours..

Did I not read that Slovenian Speedway Federation only allow their riders to ride for teams that had an air fence and that was the reason that he would not be riding at Redcar again.
-
An absolute massive gamble by the Promotion, I just hope that it pays off, because if it does not then it could be the end. But looking at the team we do have three riders on assessed averages and generally you find that riders on assessed average suffer a drop in those averages so there is potential to make some big changes to the team. But this is Sheffield we are talking about and they don't usually make quick changes, so the Promotion needs to probably change how they run the team and get tough if they need to. I have deep reservations about Richard Hall, and he owes the Sheffield Promotion for the faith that they have shown in him, its time for him to put up and shut up, the promises have to stop and time to score some points away from Sheffield. .
-
Doubt it as it looks as though we will be rding Thursday and there are meetings in Sweden on a Thursday.
-
I think another season at Sheffield would do Ricky the power of good, and I think it would the club as well. He did go through a pretty disastrous start the season for the club, but he did start to come good towards the end season.
-
If it is Wells and Hall, then that leaves us with 6.52. Two riders that spring to mind who fit that average are. Dakota North Christian Heffenbrock. It then starts to look a reasonably decent team.
-
Take it your not keen then.
-
Talented lad that Craig Cook.

Maybe the reason for not going with some one like Nielsen or any of the other major talents is that they are already owned by other clubs, and the thought process is that why give a young rider a chance at Sheffield for season only for that rider to develop and be retained by their parent club the following season. This happened after Ashley Birks rode for Sheffield in 2011 and was then returned to his parent club Scunthorpe, maybe the promotion don't want to get their fingers burnt again. The signing of Koppe is one that does not worry me that much, because the way the team is shaping up I think that he will start the season at reserve and I think that he can hold his own. The Richard Hall signing or likely signing baffles me, but the club seem to have some sort of mental block regarding the lad, but the talk coming from Richard is nothing we have not heard before and I for one don't believe it..

In this league I think he will do well. The other ting that Simon will bring is his experience and knowledge to the younger members of the team, and he is a character that will do this. I thin that he will be especially good for the likes of Joe Haines. I hope as well that Simon brings along his Old Man Trevor, he has been known to help other riders out if they are struggling. The one thing that I am hoping and that I think Simon will instil to the team, is team spirit, something that was definitely lacking last season, when they looked like a bunch of individual's no one seemed to bond together.
-
I think that the first three signings gave a great deal of optimism. Joe Haines, was one of the bright things about last season, the lad appears to be getting his career back on the straight and narrow, and I was glad that he had repaid the club in having faith and patience by signing on for another season. Next up. Damien Koppe, a rider who I have followed for about 3 to 4 seasons and he is a decent rider, people will say never heard of the guy, but who had heard of Hugh Skidmore when he came into the side and he did alright.. Then the big one. Simon Stead, just what the doctor order, a quality signing and the feeling was that the Promotion really do mean business. Followed by Jake Knight, well if we have the powerful number 1 you are going have to go with the youthful inexperienced reserve, okay Jake was not the fans first choice but the Promotion did say last season that they were looking at the lad and wanted give him a chance and lad appears to be up for it and wants it. The team is now taking shape and the remaining three places we are basically looking for two heatleaders and a solid second string. And the next name to mentioned is, and this a rider that will be riding as a heatleader. Richard Hall, who averaged 8.38 at home and 5.08 away, does not sound very solid to me. Yes he goes well around Sheffield and yes he can be very good to watch around Sheffield, but he is not what we are looking for in this team. Of course we are told Richard has been told he must improve his away form, and Richard is determined to do that, funny I remember reading that when the club signed him up for 2010, he did not do it then and I don't see him doing it now. So if the Promotion do decide to go with Richard, and I think now that they will, the next two signings will have to be really good signings.
-
The other thing about Bellego is his machinery, saw him have a few engine problems. But he is a talent.
-
Well if I am been optimistic, then I would say it only says likely. But I guess what that really means is he is back. It says he has been told improve his away form. That could mean he will be dropped if he does not. But what it really means is Richard Hall will again ride at number 4, have three or four decent rides and 1 poor race. Oh Well/ .
-
You will find the Sheffield support is split down the middle regarding Richard, some want him back because he is entertaining, others don't simply because his away form is so poor. Me I fall into the latter category, I just don't think he brings to the team what we need and generally he has at least one poor race in a home meeting that lets him down.

Skidmore is very good around the STMP, the last three season's his average around there has been 7.37.

Anyone from Somerset want to send a cheque to me not to tip Somerset for the title. Even with only 6 riders announced I think this team is the best so far and they could be the team to beat next season. Aonther excellent team put together by the Somerset Promotion.. I reckon either him or maybe Joe Jacobs.
