  1. For me the return of the bonus point is a good idea. But for they should do away with the nice try point, the one that awards a point if the away team loses by 6 points or less. Whoever heard of a sport where you are rewarded for losing. For me it has to be; 3 points for a win 2 points for a away draw 1 point for home draw. 0 points for a loss
  2. When did this happen cannot find any news anywhere that he has an injury. If he has then I would expect that we will go with Rider Replacement for him as all of the top 4 can take an extra ride for him.
  3. On paper Kerr for Cook is a strange move. In saying that Cook has been off form this season even his figures have not been of previous standard for Glasgow, and he has not hit the heights at Sheffield. Add his injury and the fact that the Rider Replacement rides taking his rides are not productive we maybe need to find a replacement. As for Kerr a change of track might be just what he needs, and it could be a good move for both rider and club.
  4. Craig Cook is injured so maybe a replacement for him, that is if they were to bring in Lewis Kerr.
  5. Some people are only happy when they are moaning. Look we got to Final after topping scorings to qualify for the run off without our number 1 rider. I could understand it if we were The Mighty Poland who we are all suppose to aspire to, who lets face it got nowhere near Final and only beat the Finns in the meeting.
  6. James Shanes is what it should read.
  7. Belle Vue now look stand out team. With the top 5 looking exceptionally good and the two reserves scoring well at home I just don't see any team beating them in a Play Off Final. Only way they will be stopped is injuries.
  8. You must be really upset. Let face it you described Sheffield an awful team. If Sheffield is an awful team what does not mean Peterborough are.
  9. Riss rides Sheffield pretty well in the past. He was the last CRLC winner at Sheffield, so that is maybe the thinking behind sticking him in at number 5.
  10. Looking at the present Rolling averages yes it would mean Howarth and the reserves. For me I would bring in our number 8 Thompson to replace Allen. Then use Charles Wright to replace Cook.
  11. Very harsh when you look at the reserve riders averages for this season's rides. With the injury to Jack Thomas at Kings Lynn on this seasons averages there is no much between each teams reserve pairings.
  12. Took some time out to think about the change. Looking at the averages for each of the teams reserve pairing for this season. The strongest pairing is Kings Lynn by a country mile Worrall and Thomas, but with Thomas getting injured I would imagine that the they will now have to Mulford instead and that I would imagine would make them weaker. The weakest pairing by quite a bit is Wolves Flint and Kemp, and the rest is very much the same based on their averages for rides this season. So do I think that the dropping of Stefan Nielsen is harsh, yes the team have won more meeting than they have lost, and it is difficult to understand why you would want to make changes. But I can understand the change, it should strengthen the team. Okay Jake Allen did not make a big impression at Belle Vue, but rode so few meetings before Belle Vue dropped him, so you have to look at his and Stefan's championship averages for this seasons rides and Jake's average is significantly higher than Stefan's, so in theory it should make us stronger.
  13. Congrats to Wolves last night on been the first team to beat the Tigers. The track was different last night seemed a lot slicker than normal, that could have been down to Stock cars meeting at the weekend, and that seemed to suit the Wolves lads more than ours and they took full advantage. But even so we still managed to make the Final just and that we the main aim, and it probably give us a big wake up call, especially with the Mighty Aces coming to town next week.
  14. Is this news true. Looking at Adam's twitter page, he has posted his calendar for May. on the 3rd May. Included in May are the Birmingham fixtures.
  15. The problem with extra medical care might mean that some speedway promotion may not be able to afford the extra cover. And the only stipulation is that you need to provide one ambulance and one paramedic I get that, but if that is the case then Promoters really need to look at what they do about making refunds for meeting that are not completed. If the meeting at Birmingham goes ahead on Wednesday and an adult fans has gone all three meeting that have started this season, that fan will have paid £46 for 27 completed heats. I myself this season have attended one meeting at Sheffield and the Ben Fund at Peterborough and paid £39 for 37 completed heats. That is a vast difference in value for money, and in this day and age where there is a credit crunch and money is tight there will be many fans that could well turn their backs on the sport. All speedway Promoters need to think really hard about these kind of situations and how they deal with them. Unfortunately Mr Rodgers response is a typical response of some the Promoters running clubs at the moment. And if that makes me Keyboard Warrior, then I will wear my badge with pride.
  16. i don't think for one second that anyone wants Birmingham speedway to close. But the sticking issue here I feel is the £10 for two completed races. The new promotion at Birmingham have worked hard and done decent job since taking over. But the this £10 for 2 completed races is a massive own goal and as one other poster has said a PR disaster. When Birmingham promotion have worked hard to attract new fans, how is charging them £10 for 2 completed races going to encourage those supporters back and on regular basis, it don't take a Rocket Scientist to work out that they will more than likely give the sport a wide berth. Its okay for the likes of me and yourself who are hardcore supporters and possibly write off the money loss, but a casual or new potential fan might think twice about returning. There is a credit crunch and money is tight, and people will be looking value for money. I just hope hard work has not been undone.
  17. Very Sad News. Nigel was not only a TV presenter of speedway, but fan of speedway as well. He will greatly missed and condolences to his family and friends. RIP Nigel.
  18. I can only see a home win for the Wolves although I think we could run them close.
  19. So here we go with my prediction, based upon the line up at present Sheffield Ipswich Wolves Peterborough Belle Vue Kings Lynn I have my team Sheffield at the top purely based upon the top 5 in the team. Ipswich 2nd, they have quality number 1, and there are number of their riders that are on false averages. Wolves 3rd due to home track advantage. Peterborough 4th I don't see them repeating last years title win and if Belle Vue or Kings Lynn strengthen I don't see them making the Play Offs. Belle Vue 5th if they can get a proper heatleader in to replace Etheridge/ Allen then replace Peterborough for a Play Off spot. Kings Lynn 6th basically down to the fact that I am not convinced that Kildamand will be back to replace Iversen.
