  1. I was very impressed with the lad, I would certainly welcome taking more Guest bookings for us this season.
  2. Just back from the meeting at Sheffield and now a proud owner of one of the wrist bands, even more pleased because rather than paying the postage and packaging I was able to pay more for the band.
  3. Oh Christ. Just dawned on me that with Alden been back at Berwick, we going have to put up with the terrible Seb Alden song which second only to the even more dreadful Nemo song from Leicester fans at the PLRC again this season..
  4. Could be that there is not that many available. Will be interesting to see how we go.
  5. Fair enough, I did the same on the Glasgow Facebook page, and near enough what I said.
  6. Perhaps you could learn from the Glasgow fans. Anyone reading that post would not believe that we actually won, or maybe you going to start wearing a kilt for future speedway meetings.
  7. Like Third man says as well a speedway meeting totally irrelevant at the moment, God only knows how people will feel about the meeting at Berwick. But if they are feeling anything like I feel at the moment I could not give a toss basically.
  8. Best Wishes to Ricky and his family hopefully he will make a full recovery.
  9. I think the big problem with Ricky Wells is that I think genuinely struggles with the Sheffield track, but his figures away from Sheffield are really good, slightly under 7 at home where as over 8 points away from home for meetings rode this season. That means the majority of the fans at Sheffield don't really see the true value of Ricky Wells to the team.
  10. He really was superb tonight. For me he can have that Guest spot whenever he is available or when he wants it.
  11. A massive massive Thank you to Richard Lawson, what a performance, and totally dispelled my theory that he is a gater, he was absolutely superb tonight and deserved the victory bumps for his efforts. And what else can you say about the Haribo Kid Adam Roynon, the lad has had more knocks than Joe Root's cricket bat, and still the lad comes back they breed em tough up in Cumbria. The rest of the Tigers were a little bit inconsistent, but the main thing is we took away all three points, and at this moment it don't matter how we do it.
  12. I am expecting much the same result as we saw form the last visit from the Diamonds.
  13. Thanks for that HnB, I must have missed that one , Apologies a Senior moment on my part.
  14. Interesting I check the figures last night when the rumour about North going to Glasgow and Andre coming back to Sheffield, and you are correct we could bring in Lewis for Richard Hall. Not too sure how I feel about that possible move I like Lewis, but he is not known for been a big track specialist, but would give us a bit of strength on the away tracks and we would have Andre at reserve.
  15. Where are people getting their information from, I cannot find any information about Sheffield wanting to sign Lewis Bridger, and I cannot find anything that shows new averages from the 1st August. One bit of news that does appear to be fact is Andre Compton has been recalled to the Sheffield side,
  16. Probably down to the fact would be an improvement on what we already got. The biggest problem was that we had 3 riders on assessed averages so the only riders that we could have replaced with Sanchez were the top 4. You would not have changed the top 3 for Sanchez, and overall swapping Sanchez for Haines is basically swapping like for like really when you balance it out, if your going to make changes then it should be to improve things. When the chance came to make a good change ie the assessed rider gain true averages the Promotion chose to go with Adam Roynon for Jake Knight, rather than Sanchez for Jake Knight, which for most is or was a no brainer you would go for the first option. Since then we have lost Stead, Hall, Haines and Koppe, and to bring in Sanchez we could only use him for Stead, Hall and Haines, and we would have to rule out one of those three for at least 28 days. The only one likely to be out for that length of time is Stead and that would rule out a top Guest rider. . . .
  17. Looking at Simon photos it does look as though Cookie did not touch Bellego and looks as though Bellego has drifted out wide an hit Tungate. Would be interesting to see Steve Brocks photo's as well to get another look. But on the evidence that I have seen up to now I think that the referee got the call right.
  18. Would suggest that there is something wrong with the newspapers website, I have bought a copy of the paper today and there is a report in the paper.
  19. First things first Well Done to the Rockets. Last night proved that you are always going to be vulnerable with a Team that consists of 3 Guests and RR, and it has to be said that a few falls and a needless exclusion cost us dearly meant that we were chasing the meeting all night. Comments on the Sheffield team last night. Richie Lawson; Looked good when he gated. Andre Compton; Started well but faded badly as the meeting wwent along. Richard Hall;Disappointing, got himself excluded needlessly in heat 3, and was generally poor. Adam Roynon; Superb, is going to prove to be an excellent signing. To comeback from the type of injuries that the lad has suffered over the years and still compete at this level show extreme gut and determination. Never ever write him off. James Sarjeant; Did well and deserved more points for his efforts. Facu Albin; Started slowly and got better as the meeting progressed. Finally nice to see my old mate Shadders puffing away on his electronic fag with a smile as wide as the River Thames, he was that pleased last night he even went looking for Uncle Len for a victory cuddle. ; .
  20. He is definitely getting there mate. The lad is amazing when you consider the knocks he has had to cope with and he keeps coming back, if ever a rider deserves some success its Adam.
  21. Well Done David, an excellent post. Should be more Promoters coming on to explain situations, then maybe supporters may understand situations more or why things happen. As much as I hated last season but for, injuries I think that we would have done much better this season and I could at least see a two year plan with us building for a bigger season and us going for the honours in 2014. But this season I think we have seen a team that has not clicked all at the same time either through injuries or riders losing form, when we had sign Adam Roynon I felt that we had cracked it , but no sooner had Adam signed we lost our most influential rider in Simon Stead, and with the team been built the way it was you need a leader like Simon Stead. Lets hope we can change things around and get back to a position that we are more accustomed to being at the other end of the table.
  22. I think that the last two seasons have been a bit of a disaster, last season for me was far worse. I think that this season we took to many gambles (3 riders on assessed averages), and think that injuries have played the part with key riders getting injured (Stead and Hall). I do think that the Team Management has lacked the tactical savvy over the last two seasons, I don't think has helped but I don't think that we have had a decent tactical Team Manager at Sheffield for sometime. I also think that the team does not have time to gel together, at Sheffield we have had too any meeting that does not involved the Sheffield team, home meetings, for instance its two week since the Team rode as a team at home, and after tonight's meeting it will be another two weeks before they ride together. If you look at the fixture list this has happened all through this season. I think that if the club runs next season, and lets face it there must be a strong possibility that won't falling crowds and the air fence issues, they need to get the signature of Simon Stead straight away. The next thing htey need to do is sit down with Simon and build a side around him, listen to what he has to say. I believe that they havee done this in the past with Sean Wilson and Andre Compton
