To be honest my confidence in whether the club will be running changes from day to day. To be honest it would not surprise me if the club does fail to come to the tapes for the start of the season as I cannot see anyone at the moment wanting to buy a speedway club. But Neil Machin has always said that he has never be the one to close the club, so maybe there is still some hope. But if if am honest my gut feeling is that we could be looking at the club closing down.

Very much a typical Rye team over the last couple of years. Could be a few fireworks with the likes of Garrity, Nelson and Boxall. Quite a promising team if Nelson and Garrity can prove the promise they showed last night. Surprised to see Rambo back for them, but Uncle Len usually springs a surprise or two.

I would imagine that we should hear something within the next couple of weeks as Neil Machin usually sets of on his usual Winter holiday in Oz sooner after the Conference, so I would think that he would like to have all the business sort before he goes.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
spin king replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Robert Lambert turns 16 on 5th April 2014. What's betting that he signs for Poole around that time. I wonder when was the last time that Poole had two Brits in their team. -
It has been intimated that there was a possible buyer, but they were waiting too see what the changes were at the Conference, with nothing really changing at Premier League level it would appear that prospective new owner is happy with the outcome.
-
not sure but they reckon he wants a free carvery each week.
-
No he never was, he rose from been the Youth Development Officer and was promoted to Team Manager when Eric Boocock left the club at the end of 2011.
-
Nigel Hinchcliffe is not Promoter at the club, he is Joint Team Manager with Dave Hoggart.

Team Gb - Middlo Quits!
spin king replied to Barry The Cat's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not to bothered by the Middlo, resignation not the man for the job. Rarely works with any British riders, I suspect that he is only successful because he is the Poole Team Manager, not proven in any other job. In fact Rosco has better credentials than Middlo. The job will go to Phil Morris, but if I could have anyone I would have Peter Adams. -
Something me and SKJ telling every week.

Sssh keep the fortune quiet. Squall as Team Manager not possible these days. as he spends most of his time rushing about fetching and carrying food and drinks for the lady in his life Roynon Fan.
-
Are we talking about Adrian's uncle, I don't think so as he has already rule himself out.
-
Its an interesting question though, and the only scenario that Neil Machin has not stated what would happen if a buyer cannot be found I suppose we will have to wait for the AGM to find out the answer to that one.

Facu was very popular with the Sheffield crowd, with his never say die attitude and I don't think that you would have many complaints regarding bringing him back. But I think the big problem is that the average that the Argentinian boys come in on, and because they are use to big fast tracks back home they seem to fit in at Sheffield, its when they get ot the tight smaller technical tracks that they have probably never seen before and seem to struggle with. But we saw Jonathan Itture last season at Sheffield and I have been impressed with the footage of Lisandro Husman, they are two riders who maybe could come over and do a job.
-
Apparently he was available to ride last season but no one came in for him.
-
The last itme heard anything about Kyle Legault, he was settled back in Canada with a young family and a job. I very much doubt that he will wanted to come back over to race unless the deal was a very good one.

What not Simon Stead?

And that includes me too.

With the possibility of further seating if the Eagles do move into Owlerton it will be interesting to see where the seating will go.

Well if we do run next season, we might have to look at this guy. Stated on the Biker FM Show that Sheffield is his favourite track. And he is now available. http://www.speedway365.com/pl-riders-champion-open-to-offers/

Doubling Up - Should It Be Allowed?
spin king replied to iand's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If it is used in the right way doubling up is acceptable, but I think this season it got completely out of hand with Elite League teams allowed to use three doubling up riders. If the league system stays the way it is at present then there needs to be far stricter controls on who can or should be allowed to double up and it should revert back to two riders sharing one team birth between them. -
Would be nice, especially for clubs like ours and yours where they are traditionally British dominated teams. But was deemed to be illegal.

THE 5% reduction for British rider's finished either at the end of 2011.

I think while we have BSPA running the sport there will be no change, the change make come if or when an Independent body starts to run the sport.Until then I do see any rider challenging the system, and I think it will be rider that challenges it.
