  1. Probably right about the score, we have never really done much at the Park and I don't see anything changing today.
  2. I think as long as it is fair and constructive and non insulting then I think ti fair enough. I think that what we have to realise as fans is that the Promotion has only been at the club for a matter of months and they will make the odd mistake or two, and I think that they will know in their heart of hearts that Thursday was not good, and will make every effort to improve. The one thing that has impressed me about them is the way they do deal with their mistakes and listen to the fans, they have so far dealt with them swiftly without any fuss. I am sure they will make a few more mistakes along the way, everyone does when things are new, but I like they way they handle themselves and I am confident that whatever the problem is they will deal with it.
  3. Congratulations to Scunny, did a job on us, and they handle the track conditions far better than we did. But it is one meeting, its a new team that was cobbled together at the very last minutes where as the Scunthorpe team have mostly been together for two to three season of a successful period. Also the promotion is new and they will make mistakes, but I am confident that they will deal with the issues quickly, as they have done so far in the dealings.
  4. To be honest I was more upset about losing out on Ash Birks than I was Josh Auty at the time. Yes Josh can be entertaining but to be frank has he improved since his move to Scunthorpe I ask myself, and the answer is a negative.
  5. So basically to sum up Richard Hall has copped a 30 day ban. Most fans feel that this justified. Except for TaylorJ and Jenga, as we establish that majority of Workington fans don't like Josh Auty. TaylorJ does not give a rat arse about what anyone else thinks about what she says. Jenga would like the opportunity to buy Richard Hall a Big Mac with cheese and extra large fries and cannot spell dangerous. And after a winter of watch Braehead Clan ice hockey team, Paulco would now like to see after heat 15, would like to see the captains from each team take off the crash helmets and gloves and have a punch up to decide on a winner for a bonus point. Do we have anything else.
  6. Its bit early to start making predictions about the Berwick team, but last night showed where they are very fragile. The solid 1 to 7 will only work with every in the top 1 to 5 scoring points in every race and one of the the reserves been free scoring. If they don't then when teams will keep the scores tight and have every chance of coming away from Berwick with something. I do think some of the Berwick fans on here did as they have done in the past and over hyped Steen Jensen. But it is early in the season, and things can change, but I do think that maybe the team might struggle a bit with Jensen appearing to not be the free scoring reserve that they thought he was, Vissing who it would appear wil take on the number 1 role been a rider who has reputation for getting injured and Kus still been a rider who is up and down more times than a roller coaster.
  7. Actually he also beat a rider who was briefly Berwick's number 1 and a rider who is going to be a GP rider this season, don't under estimate the lads potential.
  8. I don't think that we should look to far into this, they are the words of a young speedway rider who is not yet 16. I do think that Alun Rossiter should pay Robert and his family a visit and find out what their gripes are about maybe explain situations, offer some timely advice and address a few of the problems. The lad does have great potential, and at the moment we need riders with his sort of potential. But I do think that if he continues to want to have very little or nothing to do with Team GB then so be it , but he has to understand that he losess the benefits when riding over here if he does.
  9. Interesting that no one has started a thread on tomorrows match. Newcastle appear to a team that is built on all round strength, but the feel good factor is back at Sheffield, and I cannot see anything other than a Sheffield win. One thing that I looking forward to is heat 13 with Simon Stead and Adam Roynon, both exciting riders around Owlerton and I think that there will be few teams that will get anything in heat 13. Overall I think that Big Joe's Tigers should have too much in the tank for the Diamonds and I will go a Sheffield win by 10.
  10. Absolutely spot on with those words. The consortium are doing a fantastic job The feel good fact is definitely back, I saw one or two faces that I have not seen for a few seasons, although the crowd was disappointing, but if the team can keep up the winning ways they will drift back. Okay the programme on first impressions won't win awards, but looking at the way the consortium has listened to the supporters and what they have to say. Question is what would you rather have? The best programme in the league. or challenge for the Play Offs.
  11. When you have a couple of seasons like we have had, then going to somewhere like Scunthorpe and get a result, it is really worth celebrating. The feel good factor is certainly returning back everyone connected to Sheffield speedway.
  12. A very pleasing result Scunny are a good team even without Ryan Douglas I thought that at the moment they would have enough in the tank to beat us. But I am also over the moon for the new Promoters, to get off at the start with a win, and not only that but our most local rivals makes the victory even sweeter.
  13. Don't like to gloat. But. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Get in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBhmCHqU_mw
  14. To be fair of the three changes two were enforced upon the Somerset Promotion. (1) When the Brady Kurtz average had to be change.(Forced) (2) Jason Doyle visa (forced) (3) Dropping Ty Proctor. So really it was only one change. I do think that the Ty Proctor was a harsh one, but some teams do operate like that and make changes at whim, and like any changes sometimes they pay off sometimes they don't. At my own club Sheffield we have tended to operate a bit different over the years where riders have been given plenty of chance to sort out there form, mind you in saying that I think there have been times where we have hung on to riders to long. I think though that some of the Somerset fans on here have been a little tad over sensitive.
  15. No sour grapes here mate, just discussion, and opinion is that what a forum is all about. Or is no one allowed to comment or ask any questions about another team. Lets face it three changes to Somerset line up before a wheel has been turned gives people something to discuss. Of course some will have stronger views than others, for me the whole Nick Morris thing has fascinated me with its twists and turns.
  16. Okay fair play the fact that they have got him in the team this quickly proves that they had it in the back of their mind that they were thinking about bringing him back sooner or later. Makes you wonder what they would have done if Sheffield had followed up Nick Morris interest in joining Sheffield and signed Nick. But that another thread.
  17. To be fair I did not see the Somerset press release, but it will interesting to see how many meetings he will miss, to be honest I don't think that there has been a major fixture change or what ever the changes to his racing diary. Did not Nick Morris, ask to be released from his contract from Swindon to sign for Sheffield the catalyst to that move was down to the Somerset Promotion, that suggests to me that the lad was upset. But at the end of the day Nick now has a team place at Somerset where originally signed for which suggests that Somerset was where he really wanted to be. I do feel for Proctor, bit of a knee jerk reaction dropping him, and I don't think that the Somerset Promotion come out of this smelling of roses, but they will do what they have to do to get success.
  18. You do have to wonder though how popular Nick is with the promotion. They dropped him when the problems happened regarding Brady Kurtz average. Then they over looked him when they found out that they were not able to use Jason Doyle through visa problems. As you have pointed out on another thread he should have got the gig when Ty Proctor replaced Jason Doyle, personally I thought that was a strange decision and a slap in the face for Nick.
