  1. Probably totally summed up the sport in that one sentence.
  2. (1) I don't think that anyone is suggesting that Adam should received a ban for withholding his services at least I will say I don't think anyone has said he should on here. (2) Under the rules as I understand it, you and many others the Rider Replacement which was given for Sheffield to use for Ty Proctor was incorrect, but Sheffield were given written permission from the BSPA on the Friday After a protest by the Berwick Promotion, perfectly understandable the Rider Replacement was changed to Adam Roynon, by the BSPA. Again under the rules as I, you and others understand is incorrect, as Adam was released by the club earlier in the week, so he could not withholding his services. The question remains, why did the BSPA allow Sheffield the rider replacement for firstly Ty Proctor and then Adam Roynon. If the BSPA as a governing body cannot give the right information to clubs, as to what is right or wrong then who can. So unless there is another twist in the tale I fail to see where this all Sheffield speedways doing, as me and you and others know Sheffield should have been granted the facility to use a National League rider, which is what the BSPA should have done the minute the fixture on Thursday at Sheffield which I believe they did so mid morning. There is no doubt that Sheffield Promotion made a big mistake, but you also have to question the role of The BSPA in saga.
  3. That is fair enough, but the fact remains Sheffield were given permission by the BSPA, surely the BSPA should have if the team was illegal refuse permission to Sheffield to use Rider Replacement. I don't have a problem with people saying the Sheffield was not legal, the question for me is why, how did the powers that be not only give Sheffield permission to track what appears to an illegal team, but then tell them to track another illegal team. People seem quick to blame the Sheffield Promotion, but for me the BSPA Management Committee, has more to answer to.
  4. Depression is a very complex illness, and I think that the first step and bravest step is to actually admit that you have a problem. I am the first to admit that I find it hard to understand, but the one thing I have learned is that it does not help dealing with it to simply tell people to pull themselves together, and speaking from experience when dealing with people who I work with the best thing you can do is to point people in the right direction for help and be as supportive as you can possibly be. End of the day the brain is probably the most complex part of the body and when it goes wrong it needs experts to deal with it. Well Done to Lewis for taking first steps in admitting he has a problem, and dealing with it, whether the problem is from his personal life or professional it is important that he gets all the help and support he needs to make him better.
  5. Some fair comments, and in a way very difficult to argue with, the one thing could be said is that the Sheffield Promotional team is new to the game and I would say a little naive at the moment. But the Management Committee, are experienced Promoters and should now the rule book inside and out, so why have they allowed it to happen? But while the BSPA refuse to allow an independent Governing Body to run and set the rules for the sport I think we see these sort of situations happen over and over again.
  6. I would agree with that, but Sheffield were given permission by the BSPA. Management Committee They obtained written permission on the Friday to use Ty Proctor as Rider Replacement. Then the BSPA Management Committee gave verbal permission on the Saturday to use Adam Roynon as Rider Replacement. Why should Sheffield, be penalized for what is a BSPA Management Committee cock up If the Management Committee don't know their own rules how can anyone else.
  7. I would imagine down to a BSPA Management Committee cock up. Sheffield were initially granted written permission to use Rider Replacement for Ty Proctor on Friday. The Berwick Promotion, raised an objection on the afternoon before the match, and it was then decided that Sheffield would have to use Rider Replacement for Adam Roynon. Question is who from the Management Committee gave Sheffield written permission to use Rider Replacement for Ty Proctor. I would assume that someone from the Management Committee gave written permission.
  8. I would no go so far as to say I hate a team, but the team that I am not that keen of at the moment is Newcastle, always like it when we beat them. Team that were recently in the Premier League that I did not like are Leicester and Stoke. The Stoke matches were always very fired up and you could usually guarantee some fireworks, really do miss that fixture.
  9. First time for everything,, he wore long trousers at the opener this season at Sheffield.
  10. Actually I think they were Benefit meetings and Testimonial meetings.
  11. Probably down to the fact who is available on the right average and wants to ride for the club, who could make the team better. The Promotion have obviously taken the view that Ty Proctor is a rider who could have an impact n the team. And the Promotion have said that Adam had not done anything wrong but they felt that bringing in Ty will strengthen the team. My personal view is that Adam has not had the impact that we thought he would, but I think he would have got there eventually given a little more time, and I would have given the lad that time. But if you had been to every home meeting like me and the likes of Tiger Owl for th last two seasons we have witnessed our team been humped so many times and the crowds had dwindled alarmingly and the one thing that the club needs more than anything else is a side that is strong at home, and the signing of Ty Proctor will probably do just that. As for Adam, he is a really nice guy, good rider and was, is and always will be very popular with the Sheffield fans and will always get a warm welcome at Sheffield and wish him all the best for the future.
  12. Absolutely gutted for Adam, he is a personal favourite of mine. This could be a massive ruthless gamble by the new management. But one of the things that the previous promotion has had labelled at it is that they have not been ruthless enough. Not quite sure how I feel about the move, cannot help feeling that we would have been better sticking with Adam, but Proctor potentially a good signing if he can get his form back. But one thing is for sure is that the new Promotion are not going to let the grass grow under their feet. But one thing is certain Adam won't be long without a team, maybe Scunny will be his next destination, but on e thing he can be sure is he goes with the best wishes of all the Tigers fans.
  13. Fair enough then I would say that Nicolai Klindt has to be a certain for the replacement.
  14. My guess is that they will be replacing Matt Williamson. Maybe James Sarjeant.
  15. Can totally relate to what you are saying, been through the previous two seasons under similar circumstances at Sheffield. The simple fact is that id your not winning your home meetings on regular consistent basis then the crowd levels will drop. I and a hard core of supporters at Sheffield have all probably not missed a home meeting for the last two seasons, its been difficult and I guess became a habit, but the vast majority will and do vote with their feet if your losing on a regular basis. To have a number 1 who has not scored a point in four rides is unthinkable and frankly worrying, and the Promotion need to ask some questions of the rider and themselves as to the way forward. Sadly for Kevin Wolbert I think that the Promotion needs to act quickly and replace the chosen number 1 for this season. .
  16. I think we have to accept that this team is a team in working progress. Simon Stead is coming back from a potential career ending injury along with other injury problems he had last season. Taylor Poole is back from injury. And we all know about Adam Roynon and injuries. But its is a decent team that I think will get better, I don't think we will see the best from it this season, but next season if we can keep the core of the team I think that we could well seriously be challenging for honours next season. I think that we will see the occasional slip up, and meeting could be tighter than we think at home, but for a team that was basically put together at the last minute I think that they are doing exceptionally well this season.
  17. Not going to make any predictions. But lets just say I am going to mark you words down and comment on them after the meeting.
  18. only one thing for it at moments like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJUhlRoBL8M
  19. Amazing what goes through your mind while out clothes shopping with the Missus.
  20. Probably right about the score, we have never really done much at the Park and I don't see anything changing today.
  21. I think as long as it is fair and constructive and non insulting then I think ti fair enough. I think that what we have to realise as fans is that the Promotion has only been at the club for a matter of months and they will make the odd mistake or two, and I think that they will know in their heart of hearts that Thursday was not good, and will make every effort to improve. The one thing that has impressed me about them is the way they do deal with their mistakes and listen to the fans, they have so far dealt with them swiftly without any fuss. I am sure they will make a few more mistakes along the way, everyone does when things are new, but I like they way they handle themselves and I am confident that whatever the problem is they will deal with it.
