I don't think that you can seriously have two teams running at the same track and in the same league. You would effectively give both teams an extra meeting on their home track.
-
Did not read underneath just looked at the team.
-
Nice team, but did you know that there is a points limit, afraid that you will find that team is almost 2 points over the limit.

Strike the new programme board of the Christmas list.

A new programme board for Christmas then.

Adam comes in on a average of 4.78. On that average he could be slotted into a reserve position and then he for me becomes an attractive proposition for the team, and I certainly would not rule him out of a possible place in the Sheffield team. Whether or not Adam would want to come back to Sheffield is a different matter, but if it was a case that we could start him at reserve I would definitely take him.

Which Stadium Has The Best Facility's
spin king replied to Agrotron's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Has to be Sheffield. Excellent viewing. Excellent Carvery and reasonably priced where you can watch the meeting with excellent viewing. Excellent Corporate Boxes with Panoramic views of the track. And of course the Best Car Park in British Speedway.. -
Totally agree with what has already been said about Ashley, and on the average comes in on he is a steal. Could we be seeing a return of going back to our roots, the most successful Sheffield teams have had an element of local born riders. Definitely a good start to the team building from the Sheffield Promotion.

As per whenever new people come in and takeover sports clubs there will always be people that are moved on or leave a club. Hoggy was like Mar mite at Sheffield had his fans and had his detractors, and I would say it was a lot of people more some people were upset by his leaving the club and how it was dealt. And like Hoggy did time for this thread to move on.

What does that have to do with Ty Proctor's average. And what has it got to do with the title of the thread Sheffield 2015.

I think everyone would love to see more British riders getting team places in the Premier League especially youngsters. But like our Scottish friends have said attracting younger rider to clubs near the and pass the Border is easier said than done. Looking at my own club, over the last 10 seasons, the club has used 40 different riders only 16 of those were Non British. Which I think is not a bad record over the years.

Premier League Forecasts

Well I got two right. Not too bad for me. -
Have to agree with the stand out team for the season winning, but the Somerset side did give them a bit a fright and took them to very last heat decider shows to me why we should keep the Play Offs.Although it does not happen every time it can produce the drama, the unexpected and the excitement that last night meeting produced. If Paul Starke had not drifted wide and allowed Fox, the title would have gone to Somerset, but Edinburgh showed what a great team they have been and are by holding their nerve and going on to claim the title. Great speedway, great drama what a pity the camera's were not there to capture the excitement.

You could counter balance that one with the fact that Simon Stead was paired with riders like Sedgmen and Masters and the chances of getting bonus points are harder to get. You could have a thread on its own discussing who has had the better season, Edinburgh fans will tell you Cookie, Sheffield fans Steady, end of the day both had great seasons and were for differing matters vital to their team.

I would imagine so, it maybe depend upon where he pledges his international allegiances to Britain or Aussie.
-
Still made the play offs though so not to bad of a season. I think the key was the young guy Williamson, if he could have score a few more points things might have been better. The good thing about Scunny over the last three seasons is the continuity of the side, and the very few changes that Rob Godfrey has to make and keep a nucleus of very good solid riders and it worked to a certain extent.
-
Or if they want to go with a couple of youngsters James Birkinshaw and Scott The Scud Smith.
-
Did Scunthorpe have any rider who was a big hitter last season?
-
I think that there are lots of options for the club to chose from who could be looking to come to the club. Simon Stead is a must, and I think the Promotion know that he is pivotal to the success of the club. Would be gobsmacked if Josh Bates is not included due to his family connection with some of the Promotion, also helps to sell the club to potential sponsors if you have a British champion in the team. I can see Ty Proctor back, did a lot to help Promote the club during the time he was injured and on a average of 6.27 has to be a steal, and could and should put a least a point on that average, he has made no secret of the fact that he wants to ride for the club next season. Ash Birks is another rider who I would expect would be back at Sheffield next season, two of his sponsors are PBHS the Bates family business and Wosskow Brown who are part of the Sheffield sponsorship team. Also said in the speedway star that a former Tiger was desperate to come back to the club. Could Ash be on his way back to his hometown club? Also said in the Speedway Star that an exciting young British rider has asked about riding for the club, look at the front of Jason Garrity's bike carries the logo of PBHS. Could the exciting young Brit be Jason? Peter Mole has a number of riders in his Drillerman racing team that he sponsors in that team he has the Kurtz brothers, Somerset will have to trim down their team down to comply with the points limit. I think Brady is a bit ambitious, but Todd could well be a possibility maybe? Kevin Wolbert looked at home riding for the South Yorkshire Tigers on the many occasions he Guested for the club, surely must come into consideration.. And of course lets not forget Taylor Poole if he fit, Adam Roynon on a very low average maybe he miht fancy coming back to the club, Leigh Lanham on a low average maybe start the seson at reserve and the same goes for Nico Covatti. And then add Ben Wilson, how many heat 1 advantages did him and Steady get together last season, and a fully fit Andre Compton might just fancy another crack at riding for the Tigers. Just a few names thrown into the pot. And I have not mention the name Arthur Sissis. I think we need to build a team around Simon Stead, one that will score solidly to back up a top notch number 1 that Simon Stead is.

Not sure what the qualification for new riders apart from they have to reached a certain standard in their State Championships. Mind you rumor has it that young Arthur's Great Granny was born in Chesterfield, which would mean would not need a permit and would come in on a very attractive 3 point average.
-
One thing is certain if does make a return to Shale there will be a glut of clubs after his signature, he was and still probably will be a very talented speedway rider. If the new Sheffield Promotion have pulled this one off then they have signed potentially a very hot prospect.

Will not be that team well over the points limit.
