I have seen a helluva lot of Lawson at Sheffield over the last three seasons, (lots of Guest booking for Sheffield, and riding for Glasgow and Redcar). The one thing that is consistent about him every time is on certain gate positions you know what will happen he misses the gate and where ever is from the gate that is where he will finish, and usually that is stone cold last. Unlike the likes of Cook or Kurtz, who if they don't make the gate are more than capable of passing riders in front of them at Sheffield. Sorry your man Lawson may win a battle or two but he won't win the war.

Sheffield Vs Scunthorpe 6th August Pl
spin king replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A lot will depend upon the team that put out as how much we win the meeting by. I cannot see a walk over for Sheffield and will certainly be closer than most think. -
THJ would have been turned down due to been a GP rider. I think you could count out any Swede as most ride in domestics leagues both Thursday as well as Tuesday. Would be very interesting to see who the rider was.

With reference to thanking the Kings Lynn Promotion for their help in getting the rider to Scunthorpe. I wonder if they have encouraged the rider to ride for Scunthorpe so that they can have a look at him for next season.

Premier League 4's
spin king replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Best wishes to Lewis and his family and friends. Lets hope there is a full recovery for Lewis. Also thinking about young Josh who must be going through hell at the moment even though from all accounts has to nothing to blame himself for as it was a racing incident. And well done Craig Cook for his quick thinking, and taking evasive action.- 606 replies

Very surprising result. That means that there is only one team with a 100% win record at home Workington. -

Might buy the DVD for this meeting see what really happened at the start of heat 13, to be honest I did not see anything untoward, but it won't be the first time I have missed what has happened, so it will be interesting to see what happened if anything. The heat 4 incident was as clear cut as anything down to Jason. I don't whether or not because it was Rye and what went at the start of the season but Jason did appear to be really wound up last night, and it was the first time since he came to Sheffield that he appeared not be riding with his head. So far this season the meetings that I have seen (which is everyone bar 1) at Sheffield he has rode with his head. But it is something that he needs to look at, because when he does ride with his head in gear he is a very talented rider, but cannot afford to keep getting himself involved in silly arguments and fights. -
I know how the Berwick fans are feeling. Around the same time in 2013 our then Promoter Neil Machin announced that our speedway team at Sheffield was up for sale. With the club fighting off the wooden spoon, and the crowds falling alarming like Berwick fans I too was feeling as thought that I would lose my speedway team, and if that would have happened then I could not see us ever returning. I would say that at the time our situation was bleaker than the one that Berwick find themselves in at the moment. Fast forward to 2014, and we did have someone come in and take the club on, crowds went up even though we had a team that was cobbled together at the minute and again we just missed the wooden spoon, but the fans could see that the new Promotion were working hard to make improvements. 2015, the Promotion have had no luck again with injuries, but in saying that we have made the League Cup Semi Final and we look in a very strong position for a Play Off place, and crowds appear to be still bucking the trend and not gone down. If it can happen for us why not Berwick, the one thing that needs to happen is that the clubs Promotion and fans need to come together and work together. The main thing to gleam from the statement issued is that the club either needs investment from another source be that either joining forces with the present Promotion or to buy the club outright. Keep the faith Bandit fans.

Peterborough Panthers 2015
spin king replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why would he have live in either Peterborough or Middlesbrough/ Redcar, Hugh Skidmore has always lived in Sheffield throughout his career. He could live in Sheffield easy access to both tracks and have on had a fellow friendly countryman Bellego to make him feel more at home in this country. -
I certainly hope it isn't, as I have a degree of affection for the Berwick fans, and I enjoy there company. I do not profess to know all the problems at Berwick, if there is any about running next season and in a way it difficult to know what else the Promotion could have done. The one thing that has come across reading between the lines this season is the unity between fans and Promotion seems to have taken a bit of a battering this season, which is sad for everyone connected at Berwick speedway and maybe it is something that the Promotion needs to may work upon to secure the future of the club. Lets hope that the club will be running with the present owners or new ones if not, and for the present the riders give a far better performance for the fans for the rest of the season.

Well well Berwick defeat from the jaws of victory, all the good work done in the first leg undone tonight in a massive way. Surely it has to be taxi for Mr Edberg, I would say that he has had his time at Berwick. I don't think you can put too much blame on the youngster Liam Carr, inexperienced and not long back from a very nasty injury. But the embarrassing thing is the amount of points the Rockets reserves generated for Maassen to score 8 paid 9, that score has nearly double his total British career points scored. Well at least my old mate Shadders will be having a cracking night.
