  1. Not heard anything about that, but then again not heard much about Arthur since his injury.
  2. Definitely be Josh I reckon as well. Steady uncertain due to his recovery not going as well as expected.
  3. Congratulations to Poole. Far better meeting than I thought it would be, I thought Poole were going to romp away with the meeting, and after the first four heats it looked that way, but credit has to go to the Aces for a good fight back, and tonight I think we might just have seen Craig Cook come of age in the Elite League. For Poole I think that Janowski was the pick of the bunch tonight, and he looks as though he has a very big future in sport. Finally nice to see riders from both clubs wearing the Darcy Ward shirts, proving that the speedway family is alive and kicking.
  4. Another thing that concerns me with a draft situation is that I presume those riders will still be allowed to ride in National League as well. If so how will the decisions be made over any fixture clashes, we would be making the situation of the excessive use of Guest riders which fans are already concerned about. I would prefer to see a British Junior assessed average for young British riders signing for Premier League of say 2.5 points, and if clubs sign a further British Junior rider that reduces to 2 point starting average for both riders. I think if you make it attractive to Promoters to use young British riders rather than cheap sub standard foreign riders I think we will be more successful. Maybe this subject is worth a thread of its own.
  5. My point is if and I say if as the person who posted it is a fan from another club. But if it is true then you would expect the Promotion to publically thank the person or persons who helped or footed the bill. Contrary to PE7Panther believe has nothing to with why I asked the question been bitter about the fact that Peterborough knocked us out of the Play Off's already said in early on the in thread we were beaten fair and square no complaints about that.
  6. My thoughts exactly on the subject, I just don't see there been the right sort of numbers to allow enough for two per team.
  7. I think a lot will depend on what happens with Steady. If he does carry on riding we use him then we are then looking at rider that will take up around quarter of the teams points limit and that is assuming that the limit stays at 42.5. With Steady on such a high average and if we give a place in the team to him to make the team more competitive will take some clever and careful planning. I am expecting at least one of the two if not both of Paco and Arthur, if Steady is given a team place. This would allow us a chance to use both Jason Garrity and Josh Bates, and providing he can get a qualifying position in the State Championships Ty Proctor. If Steady is not in the team next season then who knows.
  8. Funny according to the Peterborough press release, the club had gone to great expense to fund the riders change in travelling arrangements.
  9. I think the injury at Rye House effect him more than what he or we thought, was never quite the rider he was prior to the injury.
  10. Oh Dear it was a joke, maybe you need to lighten up a little bit.
  11. Could have been worse, if he had done it a couple weeks ago would have caused him a few problems using the toilet paper.
  12. On the point of Peterborough fan cheering the falling Kyle Howarth. I think we have seen fans from all clubs behave like that. The match was promoted as a grudge match especially by the Peterborough promotion, and that will have whipped the crowd up, nowt wrong with that but unfortunately you will get the odd idiot who will take it too far. End of the day the best way to deal with people like this is ignore them no point in trying to reason with them as they don't have the necessary brain cells to hold a conversation.
  13. Congrats to the Panthers. I think that the writing was on the wall when Howarth crashed in his first race and then pulled out after his second. But after looking at what has happened to us as a club over the season injuries and losing Ty Proctor as we did, the fact that we qualified for the Play Off's comfortably after three seasons of just missing out on the wooden spoon speaks volumes as to where the new Promotion has taken the club. And I can only see the club going from strength to strength for next season. So the Panthers move on to face the Mighty Monarch's in the Semi Final, I wish them luck as I think they need it as the Monarchs are a pretty formidable team and are going to take some stopping.
  14. Of course the sport in this country is going through some very testing times, but I think that the Play Offs is the least of the problems. Top of the list for me are; Presentation. Doubling Up/ down Loss of star riders wanting to ride in our leagues. The latter two for me are caused by Promotions and fans refusing to accept that the Elite League should run one night per week it would cut down on the latter two considerably. Your old man is quite funny though, swears a lot but he is funny with it.
  15. Lets bring back Mauger and Fundin. Lets bring back Black and white TV. Lets have 13 heats. Times move on, if you live in the past you will never move forward. Go to any speedway meeting and you will see loads of White Knights and Sidney's, but you don't see many young faces. The Play Offs is a modern day idea, and it funny as I wonder if they have fans complaining in Poland and Sweden about play offs.
  16. only if they raise the points limit for both permutations.
  17. To the naked eye I would say its over the limit. Whose a clever boy checked and it is just under the limit comes in at 42.43,
  18. Wonder if the Panthers are using a number 8, if not playing a very dangerous game especially if there is an injury. Nearly time for the talking to finish and get the racing on. The ball is definitely in the Panthers court and they have to be the favourites to go through. But they have proved a bit suss at home this season, so you never know. Kyle Howarth if he is up for it is a decent replacement for Jason Garrity. May the best team win.
  19. Cannot understand this one. I thought that Kent were governed by strict curfews, and had finish meeting early in the night hence their start time being 6.30. How is that going to work with the SKY coverage.
  20. Yeah and who knows if Jason Garrity is missing we might have a hot shot Guest waiting to take his place. You lot really are worried aren't you and with you lot having the worse home record up to the run up to Play Off's I can see why you are say a little. Cautious.
  21. For club going into the meeting with a 2 point advantage going into the 2nd leg at home, you Peterborough lot don't half sound worried about this meeting.
  22. First and foremost do not want Elite League speedway. So me has to be Premier League. I think that you have to nail on Garrity, Stead and Bates straight off, from this seasons squad of riders. Of the rest. Ty Proctor would be a rider that I would have providing he qualifies through the State Championship. David Bellego, love watching him around Sheffield but far to inconsistent away from home. Andre Compton, pretty much the same as Bellego. Nicolai Klindt, not done enough for me and a bit of a gating tart. Ash Birks, more or less ruled himself out. Robin Aspregen, would have given him another go but been a Swede and Sheffield been a Thursday track would be able to commit to a full season, I doubt it. Arthur Sissis, providing he fanices coming back I think that I would give him another go. Paco Castangna, again another one who I would give another go. So with that in mind I have gone for; (1) Simon Stead (2) Adam Ellis or Dimetri Berge (3) Ty Proctor (4) Josh Bates (5) Jason Garrity (6) Arthur Sissis (7) Paco Castangna
  23. I think Batchelor could be looking for another club next season. Both Batchelor and Kildemand have let down the Robins fans and Promotion in the Play Offs.
