  1. Go on then how many Bandits fans saw the name Berge at number and thought he would flop? Massive problems for Mr Godfrey at the moment, even young Auty could be looking at losing his place.
  2. So the BSPA are saying is that because he has a National League average from 2007, a National League team can sign Tai Woffinden.
  3. On an average that was gained 12 years ago. The whole situation is farcical there are riders riding in the league that have as much experience and of older or around Richard's age. The league is a lot stronger these days than it was previously.
  4. Is that referred to in the trade as a Monarch move?
  5. Read through a lot of the posts and press releases on the subject of Craig Cook and Peterborough. First thing that springs to mind is how poor the initial response from the BSPA to simply say it is not in best interests of British speedway is far to woolly and explains nothing, but they do have habit of of making these decisions and not explaining fully what they actually mean. After reading Rob Godfrey has to say on the matter and his explanation it does become clearer what they actually mean i.e. Peterborough been a Friday night track and Belle Vue (Cook's other British club) been a Friday night track, this the reason been given for Peterborough been blocked from making the move. I looked everywhere to find out whether or not this true and the place I could find the information is the Speedway Star preview edition that states both clubs are Friday night tracks. Okay Peterborough state that Peterborough have a number of fixtures that are lined up to run on a Sunday. But Craig Cook has a contract to ride in Poland who ride on a Sunday, does Craig Cook still have that contract to ride for them or has he had the contract torn up. Because if he has not then there is further conflict there. One of the hot topics for most speedway fans is the doubling up issues in British speedway at this present moment, and the amount of Guest riders used to cover doubling up riders. It has reached ridiculous proportions now, leaving fans baffled and bemused when they try to understand why there rider is not riding for there club but another club another league in British speedway. The blame for that lays squarely at the feet of the past and to a lesser extend present BSPA management committee. With all that in mind I think the block on Craig Cook signing for Peterborough was the correct decision but as I say the initial statement was a poor explanation by the BSPA, and to be fair they deserve the backlash they are receiving at the moment, they need to be far more transparent and clearer, and fans are correct to say as they have been saying for sometime that its needs an independent body to run the sport. My sympathies go out to Craig Cook, Tom Stokes, Nicholas Porsing and Michael Plam Toft who are clearly innocent victims in this mess, and also the Peterborough fans. To be told you have signed a rider of the quality of Craig Cook and the next breathe to be told you have not is a massive kick in the guts. I am afraid that I don't have the sympathy for Ged Rathbone, I think he has been very naive, to announce the signing before it was cleared and ratified was not the wisest move. What ever side of the argument you are on it is a another nail in the coffin for British speedway.
  6. Fair enough. Sounds like a rider who is very frustrated. But any club wanting to sign him will have to totally re-jig their team to fit him on a massive starting average of 10.35.
  7. It seems to be a recurring problem for Newcastle. Last season they came to Sheffield for the League meeting using 3 Guest riders and Rider Replacement. Of the 4 riders who were missing none were injured. Maybe next season they should real give careful consideration to how they build their team.
  8. Slight mix up there my friend. The New Barrack Tavern is the pub down the road from the stadium. The hotel is called the Garrison.
  9. Or the Brummies fan who plays the banjo and has a terrible wind problem.
  10. I don't know, at the press and practice day Simon Stead did say that maybe they should get a bit more dirt on the track, and Eric was stood at the side of him at the time.
  11. Well if I surprise by the Peterborough result this one has really sent the shock waves, I don't think that anyone would have seen it. I think since losing Craig Cook and Justin Sedgmen, I think that Edinburgh have to go through re build and we could see them slip up on more than one occasion, wil be hard for them to take after last few years success that they have had.
  12. Definitely did not see that result coming, but very pleasantly surprised and very happy. that was a very good Peterborough side we beat tonight, and hopefully if we can steer clear of injuries we can move upwards and onwards.
  13. Lucifer Sam needs watch his back here as it looks like you are after his job. Josh Auty and not winning because of the engine set ups, would that be the same Josh Auty came to Sheffield 2 weeks earlier and score a four ride paid maximum. Wilkinson got a good second of Josh Bates in heat 14, Josh Bates was excluded from heat 14, after falling coming out of the 2nd bend on the opening lap, even I could beat Josh Bates under those circumstances.
  14. Had a look through the original draft riders who start the season of 2014 just wondering how they had progressed and where they are now. Belle Vue Stefan Nielsen; Still a draft rider, and Premier League Ben Reade; Retired. Birmingham Simon Lambert; Riding in the Premier League turning down the opportunity to ride as a draft rider. Paul Starke; Still a draft ride. and Premier League Coventry Jason Garrity; Now riding in the main body of the Coventry team. James Sarjeant; Still a draft rider, and Premier League Eastbourne Lewis Blackbird; Retired. Dan Halsey; Riding National League. Kings Lynn; Lewis Kerr; Still a draft rider, and Premier League Lewis Rose; Still a draft rider, and Premier League Lakeside Adam Ellis; Still a draft rider. Ben Morley; Riding Premier League and National League Leicester Tom Perry; Riding Premier and National League. Max Clegg; Still a draft rider. Riding Premier and National League. Poole Kyle Newman; Still a draft rider. Riding Premier League Lee Smart; Riding National League. Swindon Steve Worrall; Still a draft rider, and Premier League Darryl Ritchings; Riding Premier and National League. Wolverhampton Ashley Morris; Riding National League. Joe Jacobs; Still a draft rider. From 20 riders 1 rider has made into main body of an Elite League. 10 riders still form part of the draft. 6 riders are riding in lower leagues 2 riders have retired Would this be counted as progress?
  15. Is anyone really shocked that Leicester lost tonight or any other night. Their number 1 is a rider who has shown potential but best is only 3rd heatleader. The other heatleaders are nothing more than average 2nd strings in the Elite League. The 2nd strings are a young Pole who is still finding his feet, and one of the most inconsistent rider in not only the Elite League but the Premier League as well. The reserves are their only saving grace, one of which I can see taking over the number 1 role the same rider is 15th in the Premier League averages. Whoever put the Leicester team together must have been delusional to think that the team would have be occasionally competitive in the Elite League, the team are light years away from anything like that. The team at Leicester needs major surgery, and it needs it sooner rather than later. But you have to question whether or not Leicester should be riding in the Elite League, the current Promotion insist on running on a Saturday night and it has been proven that tracks that run on a Saturday struggle to attract the standard of rider for the Elite League, Eastbourne are classic example of that. The worrying thing is if team continues to keep losing especially at home then how long will the fans still come andd give their hard earned cash to see a losing side.
  16. Surprised that Ipswich have not gone with a Guest for Kerr, I think that it will level the teams out. It could come down to the reserves from both teams, certainly think if my Tigers ride to their own capabilities we can get some sort of result from this meeting.
  17. That is a matter of opinion, I always prefer my own riders to Guest riders, but Ricky will be a decent enough replacement for Jason.
  18. Not realised that there had been a rule change for Guest riders for riders riding in the Elite League. Ricky Wells is about as good as we could get for Jason Garrity. Hopefully we will have Simon Stead back from injury. Peterborough have a decent side and will give us a tough time, but I think that we will have too much for them and I will take us to win but it will be tight.
  19. Not sure we can have a Guest rider I thought that we would have to go with Rider Replacement.
