  1. I think Steady will retire at the end of the season, If not then I think we should keep him in the side. If he does retire then for me we have to offer him the Team Managers job, he did say in a recent Podcast that he does with Ollie Allen that he would like to have a go at Management. So this would be my team for 2017. (1) Jason Garrity or Simon Stead (2) Kai Huckenbeck (3) Dimitri Berge (4) Kyle Howarth (5) Rory Schlein (6) Adam Roynon (7) Jack Parkinson Blackburn
  2. I think that you had to be there to see the incident involving Leigh Lanham. The rules state that riders are not allowed to ride across the infield before the start of the heat. Yes he did put the bike onto the infield but it was barely a bike length that he was on the infield. Very harsh decision as especially earlier in the season at Scunthorpe I saw a Scunthorpe rider ride his bike on the infield to get to gate travelling from one side of the track to the other. Maybe if referee's were far more consistent in their interpretations of the rules fans and journo's might not be so critical of them.
  3. So both clubs have put out statement that Jason is out with a hand injury.
  4. Quite a few reasons. Stead coming in on incredibly high average after a serious injury, not quite the rider he was and dropped two points of his average. Garrity missing so many matches due to injury, in total for Trophy, Cup and League matches Jason has only rode 80 races this season, compared to Steady who has raced 132. The rolling averages, in truth Garrity is Sheffield's number one rider on the form this season its only because the rolling averages that kept Stead at number 1 this season. If the old system was used and Garrity was at number 1 we would have been able to use the Guest facility rather than Rider Replacement. Inconsistent third heatleader and 2nd string, Kyle Howarth at home and Berge away have been inconsistent, that has caused problems with them not only not scoring for the team but providing cover for the injured Garrity. Loss of form, Josh Bates has had a very poor season, and shown no form whatsoever, again cause many problems covering for Jason Garrity. Low scoring reserves, all three reserves used did not or have not scored the points expected of them. Unlucky, the Peterborough league match was a turning point for me, a meeting we was unlucky to lose.We were already using Rider Replacement for Garrity but appeared to be cruising to victory when we lost Stead after one ride. Poor Team Management, swapping and changing rider line up's when its not needed, and failure to use thee tactical ride at the right times does not help. For me the Play Offs are dead for us , and to be fair we don't deserve to be there, which after a good start to the season has left a lot of Sheffield fans deflated. Some very serious thinking needs to be done for Promotion next season.
  5. Apart from Kennett seen them all around Sheffield this season, so here we go with the Spinny's Owlerton form guide. Steve Worrall Had some solid performances around Sheffield, but I think he will fall short of a qualifying position, but could win the odd race. Craig Cook Never rule him out, but he does seem to make an error or two generally on PLRC day, but I would expect him to make the top 6. Jack Holder Seems to like the Owlerton bowl, but more of spoiler than a winner. Edward Kennett Not see him this season so judging him on past form and to be honest I think he may win a race or two, but don't see him making the cut. Sam Masters Past winner, and although I don't think that Sheffield is one his favourites I do see him making the cut but not too sure he is good enough to win it again. Jason Garrity Bang on form at his home track and very difficult to beat around Sheffield. I think he will make the cut but can he win? Not too sure myself. Danny King Should make the make the cut, and for me he is in with good chance of pulling of the win. Aaron Summers Will have some great support from the Glasgow fans, but I think he struggle for points. David Bellego Loves the Owlerton bowl but in this kind of field more of spoiler than a winner. Richard Lawson Again will have some solid support, but lot will depend on his gating on the day. if he gates he will win if not he will be at the back. Robert Lambert For me the favourite for the title, on his last visit to Sheffield he won heat 15 with no seat on the bike for 2 laps. the lad is awesome around Sheffield. Josh Auty Bit like Bellego more spoiler than winner but his lack of gating skills will keep us entertained. Kevin Doolan Will have some of the best support in the house with the very vocal Berwick fans. but I am afraid that Kev the Rev will struggle in this field. Simon Stead Not the rider he was around Sheffield this season, and has been shown that he is beatable around Sheffield, in saying that he should make the Semis and maybe squeeze his way into the Final, but not a winner. Josh Grajczonek A rider who never seems to fulfil his true potential around Sheffield so for that reason I don't see him winning or making the Final but should reach the Semi Final. Ricky Wells Lot will depend on how he gates, if he gates well then he could make the Semi Final but he will be spoiler. So by reckoning it will be final of Cook Garrity Lambert King Light the blue touch paper and watch them go.
  6. And before anyone says I am not Starman in disguise.
  7. Adding to the many people clarify that Pinny is not Steve Shovlar. He does live in Australia and lives in Melbourne. How do I know? I have him as a friend on FB. But more telling is that. He actually thought Charlie Gjedde could get a 9 point plus average in the Premie League this season. Got to be Aussie based if he is that out of touch. For me until both the BSPA and Tail make a further statement and let the fans know what has happened then I know nothing.
  8. We were told and sure it was in the press at the time that there was three interested parties. Tony Mole A consortium (That turn out to be who took the club on) Foreign interest. The rumour was at the time, but I must stress was a rumour that Alex's dad was involved.
  9. Sorry to hear about the Bandits plight once again. Lets hope that a buyer can be found for me a great bunch of supporters. I guess that it will all come down to the asking price. When Sheffield were up for sale a few years ago we were told that there was some foreign interest in the club which was heavily rumoured to be someone who had some Berwick connections. Maybe.
  10. Would that be the same Lorraine Kelly who makes the occasional Guest appearance on the Lorraine show in the mornings.
  11. Bit confidence coming from the Glasgow camp regarding our Jason. All I going to say is the ladis in the form of his life and come the Play Offs (if we qualify) is bang on to take over the number 1 role from Steady. Your boys will need to be on their top form to live with him, you have been warned.
  12. Quite possible his Premier League form this season has been going really well.
  13. Would be nice to Sheffield get something out of this meeting, but the team this season has been very inconsistent so I think it could be a bit of a pipe dream. Particularly hoping that Berge has a good meeting against his former team, as he has been a revelation for us this season and along with Garrity been our most consistent performer.
  14. All this troll business is getting pretty boring. Why people cannot accept or put there points across without calling each other names.
  15. Not forgetting your very most favourite centre green announcer. Here he is doing some football. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnQkJC2uSXs
  16. I will agree with you one this matter, Tai's explanation was far to vague and it would be nice for Tai and the BSPA give fans a statement to say why and how far apart they are from coming to an agreement on how best to move things forward.
  17. Never claim to be a rule maker, just my opinion which I think that you will agree I am entitled to make if I want to. As you are entitled not agree with what I have to say its all about difference of opinions.
  18. Not saying that you are telling stories or not. But I do feel that if your source does not want be revealed then it should not come into the public forum. I have been told things in the past but unless I have been told by a source that I can quote them I have never ever gone on a public forum to reveal what has been said. And of course because I have never met you I will have a tendency to be sceptical as to what you say, as I am sure you would be if the boot was on the other foot.
  19. So because Steve Shovlar tells us it has to be correct. For me the jury is still out and we are none the wiser as to what happened or has happened. Steve says he has it from reliable source but won't reveal his source. That means one of two things. (1) His source has told him in good faith, but does not want to be public associated, in which no matter how much Steve wants or feels that we should be told he should not reveal it on a public forum. (2) He is telling stories. I suppose it depends who or what you want to believe, but for me we still have not got to the bottom of whole episode.
  20. Would be very interesting to find out what social media Promoters use and what they do read. I think that they could learn a lot about what fans have to say by reading forums after all fans are their customers and with any business if you don't listen to your customers your business is less likely to succeed. I have long held believe that clubs should have an elected fans elected representative who could be a go between fans and Promoters and maybe spend sometime at end of season to give their views and ideas when the major decisions are been made.
  21. Strange has anybody noticed that Robert 72 and Vincent Blackshadow aew never on the forum at the same time.
