  1. he will more than likely cop a hefty fine for him and his mechanic. Don't think he will get a ban, if did then it would more than likely be suspended.
  2. A Premier League average of nearly 7 points A European Under 21 title And 4th Place in the World Under 21's. I reckon that the price maybe a bit more inflated now.
  3. Very sad news I do feel for the band of supporters who since coming into the Premier League have never missed a meeting at Sheffield when Plymouth were in town.
  4. It would appear that Dimitri now has a wrist injury. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/sheffield-tigers/nervous-sheffield-tigers-boss-relied-on-text-messages-for-play-off-news-1-8159856
  5. Totally agree on both counts, Kyle has proved to be an excellent signing and hopefully he will want to stay with the club for next season.
  6. interesting fact on did get an advantage from the Guest riders/Rider Replacement used at the meeting yesterday. Basing on each riders last performance Brough Park for Sheffield against the their replacementsit does come with some interesting figures, and some that does surprise me. Jason Garrity 12 points from 5 rides, replaced by Ricky Wells 10 points from 6 rides Simon Stead 6 points from 5 rides, replaced by Rider Replacement 4 rides 3 points Dimitiri Berge 5 rides 2 points, replaced by Lewis Kerr 5 rides 10 points. Josh Bates 6 rides 13 points, replaced by Rob Branford 5 rides 4 points. I make that; Tigers 21 rides 33 points Replacements 20 rides 27 points No advantage gain according to that.
  7. Maybe the Newcastle Promotion decided that the Quarter Final against Sheffield was one that they could overcome Sheffield over two legs pretty easily. Or maybe having the Scunthorpe meeting later on in the season would mean the meeting would have no meaning at a later date and the crowd would be poor.
  8. Very much like the team that Newcastle rolled up with at Sheffield last season. The only difference was we had two injured riders Newcastle had none.
  9. I don't think that Sheffield fans are making anymore of this than it was a Sheffield select side that came to Brough Park, and got a result. In saying that no Sheffield fan gave the patched up side a cat in hells chance even before wheel was turned Guest rider or not. Yes we had 4 riders missing. The top two were injured and have not ridden since their injures which happen after the cut off for signing riders so we could not sign replacements for those riders. The other two missing were riding in the same meeting as Robert Lambert which was an FIM meeting and they are honour bound to ride in that meeting. I can understand the frustration but there is not much more we could have done. End of the day I think Newcastle should have had enough fire power to overcome 6 point lead that we had, but they didn't.
  10. Don't expect too much response from Sheffield fans with season ticket at the moment. They are rummaging through their bins trying to find their season tickets.
  11. From what I heard he wanted and tried, but was too slow off the mark as Sheffield got there first.
  12. No getting away from the fact that the racing has been poor this season. I wonder if co-incidental that since Eric Boocock has come back to the club that the track has changed dramatically and the team spirit within the team has evaporated.
  13. I think Steady will retire at the end of the season, If not then I think we should keep him in the side. If he does retire then for me we have to offer him the Team Managers job, he did say in a recent Podcast that he does with Ollie Allen that he would like to have a go at Management. So this would be my team for 2017. (1) Jason Garrity or Simon Stead (2) Kai Huckenbeck (3) Dimitri Berge (4) Kyle Howarth (5) Rory Schlein (6) Adam Roynon (7) Jack Parkinson Blackburn
  14. I think that you had to be there to see the incident involving Leigh Lanham. The rules state that riders are not allowed to ride across the infield before the start of the heat. Yes he did put the bike onto the infield but it was barely a bike length that he was on the infield. Very harsh decision as especially earlier in the season at Scunthorpe I saw a Scunthorpe rider ride his bike on the infield to get to gate travelling from one side of the track to the other. Maybe if referee's were far more consistent in their interpretations of the rules fans and journo's might not be so critical of them.
  15. So both clubs have put out statement that Jason is out with a hand injury.
  16. Congrats to Simon Stead. Spectacular race with Sam Masters in the Final. Not the most entertaining meeting I have seen, but its a long time since I saw a PLRC that was entertaining. Home track advantage did not come into for me lost if not all of the riders have beat Steady around Sheffield, so I don't think tink home advantage came into it. Neutral track, very difficult to find one only two tracks that could be classed as neutral are Birmingham or Poole that could deal with large crowd. But if you have a neutral track for this meeting you have do it for them all. personally I would welcome all shared events going to Belle Vue. For me the pricing of the meeting is an issue, £20 is far to much, maybe if they took the average for a Premier League match would be acceptable but to be asked to pay 25% extra to what we normally pay at Sheffield is a bit steep.
  17. Quite a few reasons. Stead coming in on incredibly high average after a serious injury, not quite the rider he was and dropped two points of his average. Garrity missing so many matches due to injury, in total for Trophy, Cup and League matches Jason has only rode 80 races this season, compared to Steady who has raced 132. The rolling averages, in truth Garrity is Sheffield's number one rider on the form this season its only because the rolling averages that kept Stead at number 1 this season. If the old system was used and Garrity was at number 1 we would have been able to use the Guest facility rather than Rider Replacement. Inconsistent third heatleader and 2nd string, Kyle Howarth at home and Berge away have been inconsistent, that has caused problems with them not only not scoring for the team but providing cover for the injured Garrity. Loss of form, Josh Bates has had a very poor season, and shown no form whatsoever, again cause many problems covering for Jason Garrity. Low scoring reserves, all three reserves used did not or have not scored the points expected of them. Unlucky, the Peterborough league match was a turning point for me, a meeting we was unlucky to lose.We were already using Rider Replacement for Garrity but appeared to be cruising to victory when we lost Stead after one ride. Poor Team Management, swapping and changing rider line up's when its not needed, and failure to use thee tactical ride at the right times does not help. For me the Play Offs are dead for us , and to be fair we don't deserve to be there, which after a good start to the season has left a lot of Sheffield fans deflated. Some very serious thinking needs to be done for Promotion next season.
  18. Apart from Kennett seen them all around Sheffield this season, so here we go with the Spinny's Owlerton form guide. Steve Worrall Had some solid performances around Sheffield, but I think he will fall short of a qualifying position, but could win the odd race. Craig Cook Never rule him out, but he does seem to make an error or two generally on PLRC day, but I would expect him to make the top 6. Jack Holder Seems to like the Owlerton bowl, but more of spoiler than a winner. Edward Kennett Not see him this season so judging him on past form and to be honest I think he may win a race or two, but don't see him making the cut. Sam Masters Past winner, and although I don't think that Sheffield is one his favourites I do see him making the cut but not too sure he is good enough to win it again. Jason Garrity Bang on form at his home track and very difficult to beat around Sheffield. I think he will make the cut but can he win? Not too sure myself. Danny King Should make the make the cut, and for me he is in with good chance of pulling of the win. Aaron Summers Will have some great support from the Glasgow fans, but I think he struggle for points. David Bellego Loves the Owlerton bowl but in this kind of field more of spoiler than a winner. Richard Lawson Again will have some solid support, but lot will depend on his gating on the day. if he gates he will win if not he will be at the back. Robert Lambert For me the favourite for the title, on his last visit to Sheffield he won heat 15 with no seat on the bike for 2 laps. the lad is awesome around Sheffield. Josh Auty Bit like Bellego more spoiler than winner but his lack of gating skills will keep us entertained. Kevin Doolan Will have some of the best support in the house with the very vocal Berwick fans. but I am afraid that Kev the Rev will struggle in this field. Simon Stead Not the rider he was around Sheffield this season, and has been shown that he is beatable around Sheffield, in saying that he should make the Semis and maybe squeeze his way into the Final, but not a winner. Josh Grajczonek A rider who never seems to fulfil his true potential around Sheffield so for that reason I don't see him winning or making the Final but should reach the Semi Final. Ricky Wells Lot will depend on how he gates, if he gates well then he could make the Semi Final but he will be spoiler. So by reckoning it will be final of Cook Garrity Lambert King Light the blue touch paper and watch them go.
  19. And before anyone says I am not Starman in disguise.
  20. Out of all of the riders in the field I would say best visiting rider to come to Sheffield I would say Robert Lambert has a great chance. Danny King is another with a good chance along with home favourite Jason Garrity. And of course you van never rule out Cookie and I suppose Masters will be in the mix. Bellego and Auty could well be spoilers.
