Guested for us last season at Sheffield score 3 paid 4 from 4 rides. Has a 10 point average in the National League for Kent Kings.
-
Don't have anything against the meeting been awarded its the amount of points award. A win and the bonus point for me was not foregone conclusion. Surely Glasgow will remember Owlerton 2nd August 2012. Which proves my point.

Definitely worth a punt if the fixtures clashes a not so many. Out of interest could we not declare JPB as the Sheffield number 8 and if and when Shanes is missing bring in JPB.

Josh Auty And The Not 28 Day Ban

No problem with the lad coming back riding, whether that be with Scunthorpe or any other club, but the ban should stand end of. -
Josh Auty And The Not 28 Day Ban

What a shame I am going away on my holidays on Sunday. I could take a leaf out of Mr Godfrey's book at stage a sit in protest at the starting gate. That what he does when he feels cheated, is it not. -

If you told me that we would go to Edinburgh and then Newcastle and got point from each of those matches I would have been very pleased, so have to be pleased with the result tonight. -

But you must agree that he should serve his ban of 28 days. -

Farcical, absolutely farcical. Made even more farcical by the fact of the position held by Rob Godfrey on the BSPA management. -
Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick
spin king replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
As far as I can see he will have to serve a 28 day ban. The problem is that he announced to the club on the Thursday night that he needed a break and with Sheffield having a meeting the following day they had to declare that he was withholding his services or find a permanent replacement, which would have been virtually impossible. To not be banned there would need to be a rule change or special dispensation, but doing that could leave maybe future abuse from other clubs. Unfortunately JPB decision has not only impacted on Sheffield but Birmingham as well. -

Has Donald been trumping again. -
Harsh if you are talking about his home performances; Somerset; 4 rides 7 points Berwick; 4 rides 7 points 2 bonus points. Peterborough; 4 rides 5 points Redcar; 4 rides 10 points 1 bonus point. Glasgow; 4 rides 4 points 2 bonus points. His away performances Ipswich; 4 rides 4 points 2 bonus points. Workington; 5 rides 2 points 1 bonus points. Edinburgh; 5 rides 8 points 3 bonus points. Scunthorpe; 4 rides 10 points 2 bonus points. (Paid Maximum). Not bad performances so far this season, maybe you could explain how you base the fact that Josh holds the key to us going through and that he deserves to be dropped. Really interested to know your views.

Lunna looked pretty handy on his last visit to Sheffield. He always looked quick, but no his last visit he seemed to have mastered the art of staying on the bike. Perry has had some decent showing around Sheffield, and Bewley rode Sheffield quite a few times last season and got better with each visit. Smith looked okay on his one and only meeting around Sheffield last season and outscored JPB on that night. -

A lot will depend on how the Scottish Tigers top 3 go on Thursday. Summers and Worrall can both be a tad inconsistent. Lawson can good but a lot will be depend upon how well he is gating. Since the big investments by Glasgow over the last couple of years their performances around Sheffield have been disappointing. Should be an interesting meeting and big test for the South Yorkshire Tigers, think we should get the win but it will be close. -

Todd Kurtz has been struck down with a mystery virus. So it will be Lewis Bridger Guesting for Bjerre. Rider Replacement for Kurtz. -
Good win for the Tigers and valuable 4 points taken to move us up the league. Kyle Howarth once again showing what a wonderful season he is having and I think it is only a matter of time before he takes the number 1 slot at Sheffield. But he had some wonderful back up from the two Josh's and Lasse. For Scunthorpe I think that they are will continue to pay the price of Rob Godfrey's loyalty to certain riders. Josh Auty has spent a season or two too long at Scunthorpe, and either the rider or the Promoter needs to have the balls and say goodbye and move on. Douglas is another one, spectacular rider and good to watch, but once again he is injured and missing and there seems to be pattern there. But while Rob Godfrey is doing what he is doing makes it easier for us to get a victory, as was proved today.

Sheffield V Redcar 11.05.17
spin king replied to Steve55's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree about the heat 2 did a great job nursing JPB around, I had no idea that he was a borrowed engine. I like the fact that Rob looks out for his inexperienced partner and is prepared to be good team player. -

Another win notch up for the Tigers, just need to start getting some points on the board on our travels. Both teams suffered some misfortune, and a shame that both Bears failed to finish heat 13 with machine problems as that race was shaping up to be a great race. The incidents with Barker, would love to say that he was at fault as I don't care much for him but I don't think he did anything wrong. Long time since I have sen the Sheffield track produce dust, and the track did look very slick on the inside why can't spread the dirt line more evenly, instead of high and wide near the fence. Is there a more exciting rider than Jason Garrity out there very entertaining rider, the big problem with Jason is keeping him fit, which is I think one of the reasons why Sheffield did not ask him back. For the Tigers Kyle Howarth continues to impress me especially since he took over captaincy where he leads by example, and Rob Branford is another who seems to ride with his brain. Finally the delayed start of 15 minutes due to fans having problems accessing the car park, don't have a problem with that , but why then have an interval. -

Probably the toughest test for the Tigers with this one, and the team that could well cause us the most problems. Made a little bit easier with the Bears missing Andersen (is he injured?), but still will be difficult. Would imagine that the crowd will be swelled a bit with a few coming down from the Land of Parmo. Should be a good match up. -
Right lets get the facts right. Last season every team had was required to have one British 3 point rider. Taking out all the British 3 point riders, there was only 26 British riders that were given team place in the then Premier League. Of those 26. 5 were signed by one club. Sheffield. Even with dropping Richard Hall and bringing in Sissis his team was predominately British. All the teams that he has built at Sheffield since 2014 have been not only predominately British but also featured a fair sprinkling of local riders from Sheffield or close by. Stead Birks Greaves Parkinson Blackburn Finally at the recent British Speedway Youth awards ceremony at the Nuneaton Speedway Supporters club Neil Vatcher praised Damien for his support of the British Youth system. Also if you look at the list of sponsors for the British Youth Speedway you will see the company PBHS, which is Bates family business, putting money into possible future British stars. I will leave it up to you to decide whether or not dropping Richard Hall for Arthur Sissis means that he prefers foreign rider to British.

Totally agree I am mile and half from the track, and it is the same here. I reckon at the best we would have got 6 heats completed at the most.
