Sheffield Tigers V Edinburgh Monarchs.
spin king replied to graz gp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This season 9 rides 12 points, would tend to agree with you, not very prolific. -
I think that you will find that both Josh and Lasse would be riding for Sheffield if Sheffield and Leicester would meet in the Promotion and Relegation Play Off. as they would if there was a clash of fixtures.

Redcar V Sheffield Friday
spin king replied to RedcarB123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think that Kyle should held up as a shining example to riders how you improve as rider by moving and riding for teams with tracks that you are not particularly comfortable riding, and if you are going to double choose two tracks that are polar opposites, like Wolvehampton and Sheffield. Its amazing how when Sheffield have rode away this season the praise that has been thrown Kyle's way, the lad has come on bundle since he move to the two clubs, and as well as been a more than capable heatleader in the team is proving to be a very good captain of the team and is very articulate. -
i did not attend the meeting, but generally Peterborough is know for good quality racing, and I don't think that it hold much of an advantage so for keep there fours running at Peterborough, and it is harsh to think that Peterborough had an advantage especially when the release Jack Holder and replace him with Simon Lambert. For me there has to be some sort of punishment coming Peterborough's way as they did under value the event by releasing Holder to ride in Poland. My solution would be to Keep back 25% of the fee they received for running the event monies to be given to the Ben Fund. Also 25% of their share of the profits from the meeting and that to be given to the Poultec scheme for British Youth riders.

Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
spin king replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To be fair I think all shared events should be at the National stadium, surely that is what it is there for. Unfortunately people will constantly bang on about meeting been not been neutral, and my point is that no matter how hard you try these days you could not get a meeting run on a totally new neutral track. -

In this day and age is there a neutral venue? With so much doubling up there is nowhere in the two top leagues that could be classed a neutral. You then have to go to a National League track to get somewhere that would be totally neutral. -

Well one way or another it looks like it could well be the year of the Tiger. -

A massive result for us and takes us the top of the league for tonight. Maybe, just maybe they might start taking us more seriously. -
Embarrassing times for the Ipswich promotion. Not exactly good for team moral to be dropping riders and then asking them to come back.

Bandits V Sheffield 29th July Sgb Championship
spin king replied to BBSC's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Really pleased with the result as I felt that this might be a bit of a banana skin for us with Berwick bringing in Busk Jakobsen. But yet another solid performance from the Tigers, and we move closer and closer to that Play Off place, and taking a look at the league table we ain't that far behind the mighty Glasgow. For Berwick I surprised to see Morris and Busk Jakobsen lower point tally, and David Howe seems to be getting back to something like his best, I wonder if Rob Godfrey is keeping a close eye on him with the view of bringing him back to Scunthorpe or will David tell him that he would like to stay with the Bandits. -

Fantastic Management move from the Bandits management bringing in Joe Lawlor. Thanks. -
Put aside whether the racing was good, bad or indifferent. What a win for the Tigers. The Diamonds came with two World Cup riders, who managed 16 points and managed 4 race wins. The Diamonds were out ridden out raced in every department. Okay the Diamonds don't have a good record around and the Tigers don't have a good record around Brough Park, but we have already been to Brough Park this season a took a point. I think that we are now starting to show what good team we are, and barring any mishaps or injuries the play offs will be beckoning along with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ipswich Lets see what we can do at Berwick tomorrow night.

Great win for the Tigers, puts us right back into the driving seat for a Play off place. Also great to see we lead from the start to finish of the meeting, and we beat Peterborough in all departments.

First impressions is Lewis been daft and little stupid and daft making comments about the people running the sport. How wrong was I, clever ploy by young Lewis. Cops a fine. Sets up a Go Fund account for supporters to assist him with the paying of his fine, anything over goes towards his physio costs. Fund now stands at nearly £500. That's nearly £350 towards his physio costs. Lovely Jubbly.

Glasgow V Sheffield Ch 1 July 2017 7pm

I would not take past performances at Glasgow into account, Josh has shown vast improvements this season and is a far better rider. Bjerre, Kurtz and the two reserves can take his rides. -
Workington Team Changes......
spin king replied to Midget's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not seen any meetings involving Workington. But How does rider who has been away from competitive speedway for 12 months or so, who ups his starting average by half a point be classed as under performing? -
Looks like the chase is on for this riders signature. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/15375112.Shanes_holds_talks_with_Sheffield_and_Peterborough_over_move/?ref=fbshr

Stoneman could be the pick of what appears to be available, could be his chance to shine on Thursday. Knight could well be a possibility as he is an asset of the club as well, but I am not sure as to whether or not wants another crack at this level. Or maybe there is another candidate around that nobody has thought of.

Sheffield V Peterborough 22/6/2017 7.30 Sgbcl
spin king replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Had time to reflect on Thursday meeting. Massively solid performance from the Tigers with everyone making a contribution apart from the Guest reserve. For the Panthers, Holder was very good, Harris and BWD good in parts, Ostergaard, Hall and Starke were pants. Bacon did what was expect of him. That's 3 matches against Peterborough this season and we have taken 9 point to Peterborough 0 points that we have taken. Heat 15 was a cracking race, a credit to all 4 riders. Moving on like I have already said the present top 4 are looking the most likely to be one's who will fill the Play Offs place (dependant upon injuries) with an outside chance that Workington maybe snatching a place. -

spin king replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looks like it is now or never for the Panthers as they obviously think that come to Owlerton and get something from the meeting. Could well come down to which reserve performs the best Branford or Hall. Fully expect Bacon's night to be over by heat 6 and Lawlor's by heat 7. I am going to go with a Sheffield win by 8, heartbreak for the Panthers getting so near but so far from getting anything from the meeting. -
Have to agree let JPB concentrate on rack up the points and captaining Birmingham in the National league for this season plenty of time for him to come back in the future. Shanes is someone who is capable of doubling a 2 point average.

Good win for Sheffield today, thought at one point we were going to throw it away, but all came good in the end. I think we are now starting to see who could well be the top who will be contesting the Play Offs at the season end (barring injury crisis), which would be; Glasgow Edinburgh Sheffield Ipswich Might be that Workington could sneak in,but my guess is it will be those 4 teams.
